  • Опубликовано: 19 июн 2024
  • In this theory test video we will look at the theory behind reflective road studs (commonly called cats eyes).
    We will look at how they work, where you can find them, and what the different colours represent.
    You will also learn a method to remember the different colours that we have found successful at Inclusive Driving.
    Finally, we will discuss a few theory questions, and how they are sometimes phrased a little differently to get you thinking.

    • @andrewlim3842
      @andrewlim3842 2 года назад

      I don't know if you've already done your test or if you'll find this useful but this is what I worked out to remember stopping distances: Starting at 20mph stopping distance is roughly x2 in feet (40 feet) then add another x.5 for every extra 10mph. So 20mph (x2= 40 feet) 30mph (x2.5= 75 feet) 40mph (x3= 120 feet) 50mph (x3.5= 175 feet) etc. It might be off by a foot or 2, but just choose the nearest answer. With that I didn't need to remember them at all, just worked it out when I got the questions.

    Thank you for this, the colours shown in the Official DVSA Guide to Driving - the Essential Skills aren't clear. It's much better to see it on a video such as this.
    Plus, well tell us the answer 🤔 to the fact/question at the end, it's a question.
    From London.

    • @InclusiveDriving
      @InclusiveDriving  2 года назад

      First of all, it's great that you are reading Driving the Essential Skills! I wish more people would use it.
      The answer is that during a roadworks contraflow, drivers on the "wrong" side of the road will still see a red stud on their left.

  • @cebentertainment4619
    @cebentertainment4619 Год назад +1

    Amazing tips all noted down and taught me all about Road studs and what they're used for. Secondly no i dont know why a Orange stud has red on the back of it maybe its reflective so that on the other side of the motorway you have red but its orange on the other side. Bur i have no idea

    • @InclusiveDriving
      @InclusiveDriving  Год назад +1

      If there's a contraflow, where the roadworks push you to the "wrong side" of the barrier, you still have a red stud in the correct place.
