You can get blue cat's eyes too, these denote 'authorised vehicle only' bays for emergency services. Emergency refuge areas on smart / ALR motorways have green studs too.
I can't find any reference to blue studs in the Department for Tranaport Traffic Signs Regulations & General Directions book, so I'm going to argue that your statement is incorrect. If you have some good evidence of their existence, please do let me know.
@@InclusiveDriving I used to work as a white lining operative and cats eye/ road stud installer and can 100% confirm that there are blue cats eye/road studs in blue for the exact reason @ultra_vires stated in his comment

Amazing tips all noted down and taught me all about Road studs and what they're used for. Secondly no i dont know why a Orange stud has red on the back of it maybe its reflective so that on the other side of the motorway you have red but its orange on the other side. Bur i have no idea
Thank you for this, the colours shown in the Official DVSA Guide to Driving - the Essential Skills aren't clear. It's much better to see it on a video such as this. Plus, well tell us the answer 🤔 to the fact/question at the end, it's a question. From London.
First of all, it's great that you are reading Driving the Essential Skills! I wish more people would use it. The answer is that during a roadworks contraflow, drivers on the "wrong" side of the road will still see a red stud on their left.
Yes, since driving forward became too easy and ultimately; boring, more and more people started to habitually drive in reverse gear to make it more fun and challenging! 🙂
Some incorrect information in this video - if the cat had been facing the other way Shaw would have invented the tea towel holder, not the pencil sharpener as stated here.
Nowhere. There are no blue studs in the UK. There is a widely perpetuated, unsubstantiated myth that blue studs mark the entrance to waiting areas reserved for emergency services. However, this is exactly that: a widely perpetuated myth. They do not appear in the Department for Transport Traffic Signs Manual.
Mate... u awesome. I have my theory in 3 days time and these road studs always confused me. Thanks alot

If there's a contraflow, where the roadworks push you to the "wrong side" of the barrier, you still have a red stud in the correct place.
Very informative 👌
