Hey nice video of the mod shop process and I enjoyed your playing. Just thought I’d help: the ability to activate the trem and stay in tune doesn’t have much to do with intonation. The trem ability to stay in tune would be thanks to the nut being cut properly to allow smooth string movement, and bridge being set at the proper height. Intonation is more about saddle distance from bridge to nut and string height and frets having proper crowns. Anyway, rock on!
Wow the guitar turned out even better looking in real life! Thanks for documenting the Mod Shop process! I love the V-Mod pickups sounds so mellow since it's a bit warmer and rounded compared to traditional pickups. I picked up a used Pro 1 and didn't miss the rhythm circuit as I thought I would. I think the selector placement is great and the simpler layout looks pretty classy. I never really used the rhythm circuit on another jazzmaster I had, but it's awesome when other people can make it work for them.
this is the greatest review ive seen of a fender mod shop 2022 jazzmaster custom shop tobacco burst 4 ply black pearl pickguard with maple neck and locking tuners however i cannot agree with your statement made at 11:25 never in my life have i seen that tool used to cut peanut butter in fact can you even cut peanut butter?? i believe you are simply separating it from the other butter in the jar but i can forgive you just maybe give a warning next time i love you ok nonetheless this is excellent work
Glad you like it, I've heard nothing but bad reviews of mod shop guitars, seems they're following Gibson's quality control model these days, I've been a Fender guy for 30+ years, after researching, I've come to the conclusion that I can build an all American Fender from sourced parts for about half the cost of a mod shop guitar, I bought a PRS SE Custom 24 not long ago and I couldn't be happier with it, the quality is excellent and it sounds great, probably going to build my own Fender Tele or strat though......good luck with your Jazzmaster and keep the tunes coming......
me, someone who has never played guitar, during the pros & cons section: hmm yes yes, indeed, i do know some of those words 🤔 and yet i enjoyed the video anyway! amazing job, i was entertained throughout. great job sam!
right right that's what i was contemplating about too. I guess in the end it really depends on your preference and what you're looking for in the guitar
@@SamKronesI just ended up ordering one, I order a gold strat, with gold hardware, a full rosewood neck, hss configuration with a black pearloid pickgusrd, really looking forward to get it
I enjoyed this... I am someday going to take the plunge at the mod shop for a JazzMaster custom... I plan on the vintage pickups, but it's great hearing the full tones from the V-mods. Thanks for making this fun and informative video! 🐺
Depends on what you ordered. If you order a basic color like black then they don’t have to paint your body which can easily shave off a week in half. Not saying that’s what you ordered, but that can play a part
I recently just ordered a mod shop strat I've always wanted my own "signature" guitar And I planned it for 3 years and i was kinda surreal to spend $2k on a guitar when your most expensive guitar you paid for was only $400
@@SamKrones oh i am. I picked some wacky options Like walnut brown and a reversed headstock and a hss set up Im also gonna flip the nut around. I wish the mod shop let you choose how you wanted it to be set up
How many days from day you ordered it to delivery day? The site says 30 days. I assume business days, so actually more like 5 weeks. Was wanting to order today but leaving on vacation August 19, so might have to wait. Wouldn’t want to have it arrive while I’m gone. I love the tobacco burst. I’m getting a tele tobacco burst, black pick guard, with rosewood FB and ‘64 pups. I have a 2010 American Deluxe with the gen3 noiseless pups, but I’m looking for a more vintage vibe with a 9.5” neck radius and a different color than they offer on stock guitars.
love that this sounds dope! My delivery actually took quite a lot longer than their "30 day" remark but that was probably due to COVID delays and whatnot. I have no idea if they're more caught up now, but I think mine took about two full months between ordering it and actual delivery. I wish you the best with that guitar! Sounds like it'll be fantastic to play.
thank you!! In terms of rhythm circuit, I know that this specific model is based off of the American Pro I that used to be sold by fender; the one without the rhythm circuit. I would assume it would not be routed to accommodate one, since it wasn't designed to have one in the first place D:

appreciate the bit of info!! thank you and thank you for watching too
I normally hate jazzmaster pickups but you're right, the V-mods are so much rounder and nicer :)

thank yew i love you!!! ❤️
The penguin Isle playthrough I'd been waiting for
ayyyy!!!! i will end up making a full playthrough at this rate 💕
That’s what puts me off really is the fact that it would take 8-10 weeks to get a mod shop when I could buy a American ultra and get it in a few days

of couurse!!! glad you liked it my dude
Crazy you had to wait that long. Mine took a week, with free overnight shipping. Got it today on 8-2-22 ordered on 7-26-22.
man, i wish i had that luck! They must have slowly started fixing the delays after I got mine.

What a great video. I'm considering a mod shop Tele...still undecided!
i say go for it!!! mine is still my baby to this day and i love it so much

Great playing, beautiful guitar, it will look great once it is beaten up a bit.
