Angelina is a true artist, using every vocal tool perfectly to paint the story of the song. Stunning.
You are describing skills and tools that only seasoned performers have, yet she was only 16 here. It's not who can sing the loudest, or who can sing the highest or lowest, to me it's about who can put it all together that pleases not just your ear, but your soul as well. Phenomenal singer and, yes, well-seasoned. Imagine when she's in her 20s and 30s.
not to mention the arrangements that she does herself.
This is such a beautiful rendition, and you are right; she can sing anything. Thats why I call her my little jukebox. I don't need to listen to anyone else or other versions of her songs. 😊

Thanks for your reaction! She is only 17 years old today and from Norway. She signed with the label Republic Records just 14 years old, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. Marketing will start when her full album is released later this year. There's only one EP with 6 songs she's released from RR now, and they haven't started marketing until the full album is released!. Republic Records know 100% what they are doing? I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). She performed FIFA AWARD song, and performed in front of 40 000 people only 11 years old invited by Norah Jones. She was also specially invited by Quincy Jones to perform on his 85th birthday in the O2 arena / London. And so on goes the list... She has over 250 songs on RUclips with cover songs and many originals. Angelina also plays piano and guitar.
The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can do!
Angelina recently had a sold-out concert in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where there was an audience from 9 different country all the way from Australia and from 39 different states in the USA.
She has not blue eyes but beautiful and soulful brown eyes. Excellent reaction.

Thank you EB , this is a sublime vocal masterclass by 16 yrs old AJ, IMO this is the greatest version of this song ever, and the song has waited a long time to sound this good yes she elevates everything she touches, she is in her own league no other artist has ever touched me like she does , there have been and are great singers , but there has never been an AJ magical, mesmerising majestic, storytelling at it's best , the greatest personality and character voice across multiple styles and genre's with a beautiful loving heart and she just getting going .How fortunate the world is even if it doesn't know it yet.💗👣

Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years 0ld - So far 11 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, and Diamond. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate at that time.
She's one or two steps above ANY singer right now.
You mentioned Etta James, did you know Angelina did a cover of “I’d rather go blind”? She was much younger, the talent just oozes out of her! By the way, did you know she has been arranging the vocals on her covers since she was about 8 years old? She released an EP of six originals in July this year (now aged 17). It’s called “Old Enough”. It’s incredible!

This is my 144th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan.
When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this. I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 76 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story. We are not only hearing it, but we are also feeling each word as though she were singing to each of us individually. She is the only one in this universe that is capable of making us feel the true emotion of this ballad. There is no way to explain this gift that has been given to the universe, does she even know, or understand the power she encompasses?

Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! Her performance at 9 years old of Screamin Jay Hawkins, I Put a Spell on You is considered one of the finest recordings ever of a 9-year-old vocalist! Angelina also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique versions of Bohemian Rhapsody and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 17, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. This has been a favorite song of mine for 50 years. I have listened to all the "Greats" from the past & a few not so great covers of this song, but none as exquisite as Angelina's 16 yo version. She sang it as a little girl (9 & 10 yo) & it was amazing, but I hoped some day she would sing it again when her voice matured more & this was more than I even hoped for. The only thing that could make this better would be if we could see her sing it. Vocal coaches are astounded how she can go from a breathy vocal to a full belt & pull it back to a whisper, all in one breath with beautiful tone & pitch. This is my favorite vocal performance although I don't care for the video which I find very distracting from the vocals, so I close my eyes for this one. The song was from the 1937 musical Babes in Srms. Frank released his version in 1953 so his version is definitely not the original. Others who have covered this are Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Judy Garlad, Chet Baker for whom this was his signature song

If I may suggest, have an auto setback of 10seconds, it's really hard with Angelina to interject any comments without interrupting a critical music flow in the music. I am beyond happy to see you react to Angelina again. I have always loved your reactions to her, and this was just exceptionally good IMO. Angelina had JUST turned 16 here, or was possibly still 15 at the time of recording. This one sits comfortably in my top 5 performances by her, and I will give you my absolute favorite performance now. She was pretty much EXACTLY the same age as in this one, and the performance was part of her live, digital Christmas concert from Republic Records' studio on December 23rd 2021. As a Thank You to all her fans she performed Lauren Daigle's "You Say", and it is maybe one of the best vocal performances you will ever hear. At least in my opinion. I don't know. But just search for Angelina and the song and you'll find it right away. You can see her in a most beautiful, white dress.) that her vocals are overdubbed concerning the video, and you should
understand that her mom Sara is always concerned as to how she is
perceived. By doing this, the viewing listener doesn't equate her with a

Look, all you need to know is that only one singer is mentioned by Angelina
in being essential to her being the singer she is and that is Billie Holiday. If
you took the time to truly listen to Billie's full catalog of music, which Angelina
undoubtedly did, you would realize that elements like phrasing, changing key in
mid-sentence, 'breathy' 'whisper like' releases and a host of other emotion laden
elements, much of with can be found in one rehearsal she did in a sound booth
when she sang Billie's 'I'm A fool to Want You' in a way that was much more complex than when she auditioned the song in a'capella when she was 7 on NGT.
When Billie was first booked into the jazz clubs of Harlem, her manager said that
she was the most improvisational singer he ever experienced. As far as Michael
Jackson relating a powerful story, go and listen to 'Strange Fruit' by Billie, and you
will understand what relating a powerful story is all about. The only thing she
would adopt that Amy did, was the 'stretching' or 'slurring' of words at the end of a lyrical line. All these other artists aren't included in Angelina's interview with
Nadia Neophytou, only Billie, and Angelina explains why? Without Billie Holiday,
there would be no Angelina Jordan today. Billie Holiday is on an inventive genius
level that no other singer accomplished and Angelina's genius allowed her to
realize that very early on, for at the end of that interview with Nadia Neophytou,
Angelina added, 'I am very blessed that her (Billie's) music found me very early'.

What is it about Angelina stating that, if not for Billie Holiday, there would be

nothing. He was a 'crooner'who the young girls would go crazy over, but can he
put over a song like 'It's Impossible' or 'And I Love You So' like Perry Como?
We all know the answer to that. If you took the time to listen to Billie's catalog
of songs, you would realize she was the one that all the singers you mention,
including Amy, learned from, and more important that it was she who made

Well said, good reaction. But please dont cut those runs. She also does runs and a contrasting phrase next. So if you choose to cut mid phrase/run please back it up 5/10 seconds so you can also enjoy the artists intention of pacing and flow. Yes, she could sing gibberish for all i care but theres some beautiful moments in here that were missed 😊
"Old Blue Eyes" had the best version of this, IMHO. Past tense. Angelina's beautiful eyes are brown. She has taken to wearing blue contacts for some reason and, not just for this song. Not sure why. I really prefer her version above all others. Actually, the only time I have ever heard a better cover of any song she has sung was when she made a newer version.
If you're looking for Sinatra covers, she's done My Way, which is kinda funny when you think about the contrast of a young girl singing about the end of her life. And of course Fly me to the Moon, she's done that two dozen times and its kind of her signature song.
