I hope you all enjoyed the lesson. I encourage you to ask questions about this lesson. I will respond as soon as possible. Please read this very important note: *The Japanese colors come in two forms. One form is called the "noun form" and the other is called the "adjective form". This fact will sound puzzling at first, but do not worry, I will cover the differences and usages of both forms in a future lesson. For now, only focus on memorizing the NOUN form which is the form presented in this lesson. Why so? Well, the noun form is the basic form of Japanese colors and is the form you will encounter when learning colors for the first time. So it is a good starting point. From there you can move on to learning the "adjective form", which luckily is not too different from the noun form, so it will not be hard memorizing both forms. I promise! : )

Hi Neru, Thank you for your comment and feedback. I'm happy you found this lesson useful. Your question is a good one and a common question that all new learners of the language have, so I previously posted a comment explaining your question. Note how the color red comes directly before the word "roses" and is describing it, therefore red is being used an adjective, thus we use the adjective form of the color red (akai). } ★The same rule applies all other colors. They all have a noun form and an adjective form. ------------------------------------------------------ Stay tuned in for a video lesson I have planned that will further clarify your question. I hope this helped you. Thank you for your question, it is helpful to others as well. : ) Keep up the good work!

Thank you for this great video with a very useful list of colours, EXCEPT that you missed out a very important, everyday one: beige. How do you say this, please?
Damn, I knew a lot of these from anime but watching anime helped me more than I ever thought. 3 of these colors were in character names and I never even knew! Kinro and Ginro from Dr. Stone, and "Komurasaki" (not her real name) from One Piece. Now I can't stop cracking up at Kinro and Ginro getting a gold and silver spear, respectively, and how many months that just flew right over my head!! XDDD
I feel this'll be the easiest way to get my question answered, so here goes: You touched on ポンク and オレンジ, but the other colors also have borrowed forms (レッド "reddo") (ブラック "burakku"). And I was wondering, are there different scenarios where you use the borrowed form compared to the native form? Or can they be used interchangeably?
I have a question. Is brown pronounced CHA-IDO just faster without a pause? Or is it CHIDO long "I"? Does the A and I together make a long I sound like "II" makes a long "E" sound?
