- Since people still ask me about the new chapters every once in a while, this has basically been me every update, you are not alone.
I was planning to wait until HNK manga finally finished or if the second season got greenlit, but it seems BEASTARS threw a wrench in that plan for a while.
I’ve felt we were “close to the end” of HNK for months so maybe I’ll bite the bullet and just make a mini update or something.

It started out so happy and innocent...
It all happened too fast. 10 chapters in and Phos is already getting her limbs replaced lmao
I finally got used to Phos’ new arms and hair, and then BOOM! New head. Then I finally get used to the new head and BOOM! Haircut. I get used to the haircut and BOOM! Now Phos wants nothing more then to kill every gem that stands in the way of him and sweet oblivion
To be fair, MIA chapter wise can have similar results.

i got into this story after steven universe ended and it keeps RIPPING MY HEART OUT. ugh, but its so good. and beautifully drawn.
So if you could sum up the totality of the story with a sentence what would it be?
"And they all lived happily ever after except for phos.................phos and her eternal suffering."
"You think it can't possibly get any worse; and you're always wrong."
"The MC had the mindset of Suffering = Success but forgot the success part and got stuck on step 1"

this series takes your heart, tears it apart, poorly tapes it back together, and then stomps on it aggressively
it breaks your heart and then glues it back together and covers it in powder but then it steals some of the pieces and replaces it with new ones and the cycle continues
Took me a week to get to chapter 31. Then proceeded to speedrun 67 chapters. Felt numb, unable to cry. Never seen characters this distant or suffering this much in a story, yet so much of it is, funnily enough, very close to actual experiences on this Earth. Wonderful teachings.

As someone who watched the anime when it aired, completely forgot about it for years and then coming back and catching up to the manga this year? I keep coming back to this video specifically every god damn time I have an emotional break down when I think about Ch 94 - 95. THE PAIN IM IN IS PERFECTLY CONVEYED
(also this was the video that made me go 'Oh, I have some free time I should read this manga again :)'. I'm so glad the spoilers went completely over my head cause the first time I saw the new pages I hadn't seen before, it was just 'Oooo that panel is super pretty, I wonder what's happening' so I could experience the full force of being smacked in the face with the 10000 YEAR WAIT)
This describes it so well- I read all of the houseki no kuni chapters that have aired so far in ONE DAY. It was a VERY bad idea, I do not recommend. It's like the disaster train keeps hitting you while reading but you just can't look away, and you just have to look at what phos became from all of it. There's disasters after disasters, either happening to phos or someone they care about, and you're forced to watch with them. Poor phos, why did it have to happen to you ? xd
