Why Didn't I Wait? - 2021 Ram Rebel Overland Build Update - Lift/Wheels/Tires
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 31 июл 2021
- In this video, I lift the 2021 Ram Rebel by about 2 inches and install 35 inch tires. I was originally planning to wait to do this mod, but thanks to Trailbuilt Offroad for providing the Wheel/tire combo, I went ahead with the lift and the bigger tire install.
I'll give my thoughts on the process, as well as any rubbing issues.

FYI: 1 mpg loss on highway. Speed is off by about 5 mph at highway speeds (so speedometer will show 50 mph when in actuality it’s 55 mph). More to come…
Hi Ed, you can get your speedo calibrated.
Agreed, AlfaOBD worked great for me when I increased tire size. I also changed the tire pressure monitor thresholds...no longer have the dash light and forced menu option ⚠️
Are you going to reprogram the odo? Can't wait to see the comparison between this and your old icons.
@@AMAJD I will have to do that, looking into some options!
@@TheRealJimmy831 I haven't thought about the Odometer , just the speedo for now. As far as initial impressions, the Icon on the tundra felt way better.
Awesome video. Truck looks great! Those wheels look sick, I love how you left the roof and tailgate black. One of the best looking RAMs I’ve seen. Keep the vids coming, love watching them!
Thanks! I don't know how long they'll stay black, but I like it so far
I appreciate the transparency with those who are sponsoring you. Also, great videos.
Loving the build and the content! Keep up the great work.
Excellent, did about the same including uca's. -34offset no rub. (A little plastic trim & grind down back fender corner a bit) Love it!
Lake Havasu ☀️ AZ
Great video with a lot of good information. The new set up really changed the look of the truck for the better . The wheels look great 🇺🇸
I’m looking forward to seeing future content on how everything performs. Thank you
Thanks, I have high hopes, but definitely keeping an eye out on everything
Seeing this video motivated me to go get some crazy stuff done to my 2021 AT4 so thank you! Love how it came out looks super sick! 🔥
Very helpful explaining the entire process and WHY it matters. thank you!
Now we're talking. Great looking rims, can't go wrong with the BFG KO2. Nice production quality.
Congrats brother. The recognition and sponsorship could not have happened to a more deserving creator.
Thanks Bro, I appreciate that man. just glad to be able to get back out there 🍻
Thank You for all of your videos that you did. I am enjoying all of them
Nice job man!
Those wheels and tires look great on Rebel. Congrats!
Going with the same KO2’s but on 20” Racelines because I love hauling ass on the paved twisties as well as dirt. The Carli professional suspension with 2.5” Kings just arrived. I can’t wait to get it on. Love the channel.
Loving the new setup. 🔥
I was litterely waiting with anticipation for your next video thanks man
Boom! thanks for watching the vids 🤙
clean!!! love how this build is coming along!
Coming along quicker than I thought. Looking good 🤙🏽
Thanks Jon, I gotta get parts while they are still available! lol
@@KrokemOutdoors hahaha. Truth!
The knew rims and tires look awesome 🤩
Stay safe and happy! Truck looks good!
Thanks Maurice! Hope you're taking care
Nice video Edward, Love how you look after your Family and truck, always upgrading to keep things safe. Truck looks good, Can't wait for your next adventure 💕👶🚙🌟👍
Thanks Betzaida!
Good stuff bro! The bronze looks great with that wrap!
Bronze crew, represent! :D
Truck is turning out great brother 👊
Thanks Nate! It’s a steady progress that I’m enjoying every minute of 👊
I'm stoked that you're moving forward! I Just received my 18" Method wheels, with 35" Ridge Grapplers from Custom Offsets. I ordered them in July, but they look a lot like yours. lol I tried to go with 17" wheels, but nobody would have that(even though I saw a RUclipsr that successfully did that)! I dropped them off at the shop, for my appointment on monday, for a BDS 4" Lift.
Hey, how much is the lift going to cost all in?
Truck looks awesome! 2.0 is coming together!
Thanks Grant! It's starting to get some Tundra throwback vibes though, doesn't it? :D
Good choice of wheels Edward! The ride is coming along nicely bro!
I appreciate it! 🙌🏼
Agree. My Cummins can sure spin up my light weight 17” methods. I just don’t understand the 22 (or even 20”) wheels on an off-road truck.
Looks great Ed! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Nathan!
Loving the build videos! The truck looks mean
Thanks Brother! Hopefully the build will be complete soon.... (maybe) lol
Happy Birthday ! New subscriber here and enjoying all you're content :)
Looks great man, Wheel pic goes great with the wrap color.
Humble grateful man...
With a great channel..
👍
with awesome subscribers 👊
Slowly but surely Shadow 2.0 is coming along...love the bronze method wheels. Have it on mine Tacoma, tons of compliment...usually from guys having the same wheels haha.
Thanks Michael, and by the way; NICE WHEELS! :)
@@KrokemOutdoors Lol
Truck is turning out really nice
Thanks Bobby!
Man another Great Video! Keep them coming!
Thank you!
Great update. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Dave!
Your truck is coming along fast, it's looking good. The same color looks good on that Dodge. 👌
Thanks brother! gotta do. a little throwback to the old tundra
Like that you flipped the M on your logo.
RAW! 🤘
Those are some killer side steps!
They're great so far! Multifunctional aspect which I like
Looking really good man! Getting a great start on winter camping prep.
Too bad we couldn't have met up out in the desert in the past few weeks while I was out there. Was EPIC!!
Looking forward to camping with you and K8Y (and babyy) again.
BTW, all of the upgrades I've done to my Taco over the past year in prep for this 3 week trip worked flawlessly for me out in the desert. Might be time for a truck walk thru update. ;-)
Looks amazing!
Awesome truck. Have safe trips!
Thank you!
I think it looks GREAT!
Thanks Chris!
Nice wheel and tire upgrade!
Nice job with the upgrades
Thanks David!
Looking good! The Method 305s with BFGs is a great combo. I’m between those and the bronze 703s for my Tundra.
I'm a bit biased, and will say 305's, but you can't go wrong with either 👍
This thing is lookin awesome already man! It’s making me strongly consider getting one instead of the Gladiator we’ve been planing on for a year now to replace our current wrangler JKU
I think it depends on the plans you have for the vehicle. I spend about 70% of the time in the truck driving on pavement (highway) driving to the destinations before hitting dirt roads, so comfort was a big factor. If most of the time you'll be offroading instead, then the Gladiator seems like a solid choice. Either way, good luck on your purchase!
I originally went to buy a gladiator, drove a bunch of different versions and left with a rebel. The rebel wasn’t even on my radar when I went looking but I have no regrets
Love your video! The wheels are very eye-catching! Speaking of which...the W is the best ever! Say hi to the loves of your life for me! Thanks Edward.
Shadow 2.0 is looking super sweet already!!!
Thank you! 🙏
I liked the black rims a lot but bronze also looks good. Nice job hubs! 💛
Glad you like the Bronze ones ;)
Looking badass!
Thanks brother!
My dream truck!!!!
beautiful truck my dude!
RAW. Nice one.
gotta give it a little kick of uniqueness 🤙
I have the same falcon shocks on my rebel. They are decent for what they are. Right now have a 33s nitto ridge grapplers.
Same wheels on my Titan XD Pro 4X. Love the look!
I’m here from softroading the NW. good stuff
I have a 2017 RAM Rebel, and just found your channel, so I subscribed! Very interested in your buildup of the Rebel.
I am in the same boat right now, Just got a 2024 rebel and waiting until the goodyears wear down. Looks great here tho bro
Happy Birthday Edward. You don’t look a day over 25 buddy. One thing I do know is the buddy does not discriminate on your age. Look after yourself Champ. Regards Mario.🇦🇺
NICE TRUCK MY FRIEND!!
Thanks Joe!
Great video liked how you explained the reason for alignment. The truck looks bad ass and tough. Now get out of the mall parking lot!!!!! 😂
But it's so nice here!
We have a feeling you may want to upgrade those Falcons. The overland builds we've addressed on these Rams leaves a lot to be desired from the Falcons. We're getting people into Bilstein 6112s and Fox 2.5s with massive improvements to comfort and medium/high speed handling.
I highly recommend shocks from ADS. More expensive… but worth the money. I only trust Mule Expedition on my rigs.
Fox 2.5's; do you have a link for those?
They are gonna hook you up and supply all the upgrades congrats dude!
Beautiful truck, Had the same suspension was bit stiff for my taste.
Can't tell if you said in the video what was the height you received after putting on the wheels and falcon shocks? Like I said I have the same setup but running 33s and want it to he a little bit higher. Only way to do that is to change the tires to 35s and go with a bigger lift from carli suspension. Or do block lift spacers which I don't want to do.
Is there a difference in the suspension between the Laramie and the Rebel besides the inch longer springs? Just wondering if those shocks would improve my ride after the 3" and 2" leveling kit.
Looks good 👍
Thanks!
So clean… we need to fix that 😎
Have you noticed the gas mileage is significantly better in the dodge VS Tundra?
Looking good man👊👍👌🚙😃😃
Thanks Alan!
great stuff my friend
Thanks Bryce, I appreciate it my friend
Hi, as you put bigger tires do you need to reprogram the transmission or only speedometer?
Thank you
Truck looks great. I purchased custom coil springs from Coil Springs Specialist in Kansas. Roughly $100 more per set than off the shelf but they added 1" in the height, 15% more capacity to front and made the rear progress to accommodate my overland trailer.
How's momma and your perfect angel doing?
Sounds like you made a great choice!
The family is doing well, Katie is still busy being a mom, and Chloe just started crawling. It's definitely rewarding to watch the progress. I'm grateful for the both of them!
@@KrokemOutdoors it won't be long and she'll be 31 with her own baby. I know people say it all the time but time does fly. I'm glad to hear they are well.
@@bah5310 oh I agree, time definitely flies. I sometimes can’t believe how big she is getting already
Truck looks great. Can’t wait to get here on my 2021 soon.
Are you considering doing a long term updates on the falcon shocks? I’ve been obsessively looking over all potential options to level mine but haven’t seen any good comparisons.
Yeah I usually keep my viewers updated on parts over time, but I’ll go more in depth after a few more months of use
What is the song near the end of your install at the shop? Ps truck looks great, thanks for camping with primal outdoors, found you through your camps with him. Great content!
Good looking truck
Thanks Tim!
What exhaust are you running? Great looking truck - I have a 2017 Rebel love it
I’d love to know how you got the light bar setup in there I can’t find one to fit my rebel
I have to admit I am still a bit skeptical about the Rebel but it is coming along very nicely.
I'll admit I am as well. Time will tell!
Rambo looking sweeetttt!!
Still considering that name! lol
On the Rear Lift did you only swap out the Rear Shocks or did Swap out the Rear Springs or did you add spacers to the Rear Springs because with adding the 3” to the front aren’t you in a negative stance now with the Rear Sitting Lower
Awesome!!
🙌🏼
Can you please post a link to the wheels? Did you have any problems locating 18" wheels that would fit over the brake calipers... meaning, how many did you have to try? I understand not all aftermarket wheels will fit the newer Rams. Thanks!
Do you plan on fixing the speedometer and if so can you put that in one your videos? Thanks love the channel.
I am looking into it, and I will definitely share once I find one
Hello sir, How are you feeling about the rebel at this point?
I too am considering jumping from a 21 t4r trd or to a rebel.
Is there any reason you’d stay Toyota after all this time with the truck?
Hi I'm new to your channel. I have watched several videos. Just want to say I love what your doing to Shadow 2.0. I also have a Rebel 2021 and I love it!!! Would you Recommend getting your truck wrapped if you do off roading and go camping. What color is the wrap that you put on? I saw that you had the Decked system in Shadow do you think that the system is worth it and what were some pros and cons of having it?? Sry for all the questions just nice to see what can be doing to this rig.
Rebel 🔥
Have the same truck. How does it feel with the bigger tires? Did it affect negatively the on road performance
Great vid man! I am going with noveske's bazooka green for my 3500 crew/utl bed 4x4 build, dont think itll be ready in time for flagstaffs overland expo gathering :(
Thanks! Man, it's a bummer that everything is taking longer these days. 😞
Edward… i’m digging your shade… where did you buy that sunglass and name of it please ?
Good morning y’all, I would like to say that is a good looking truck and great mods. I just wanted to ask and see what are y’all’s opinion. Well I have a 2011 ram1500 4x2 that I want to convert to 4x4. I have asked my friend on what he thinks and he said it’s a lot of work. Well the truck is paid off and I don’t want to trade it or sale it. Let me know on what y’all think. Thank you and y’all have a great day.
Truck looks great 👍!, what brand is your front light bar?, I'm trying to find it for my 21 Rebel., thanks
Thanks! It's the light mount/bar from Randy Ellis Designs.
Quick question, do you have a link to that specific wrap? I could not find it. Thanks
I need to put struts on my van and I just about died when they told me how much it was going to cost. To me, it was a fortune ($1200) for the front and new shocks for the back were not included. I guess I'm going to try and do it myself.
It's not hard (I'm not a mechanic) you can rent coil spring compressor from your local auto parts store.
I don't think I have the tools and skills to do it on my own, but if you are able to , I definitely think that is a good way to go in order to save some money. One day I'll learn to do it on my own. $1,200 does seem a bit excessive though
Definitely looking forward to a review on those falcons and how you would compare them to the oem bilstenins shocks on the rebel. Been looking into falcons for the price and towing functionality. Definitely interested in your long term review
Will definitely go over that 👍
@@KrokemOutdoors appreciate it boss. Been watching you every since you bought shadow. Excited to see everything you still have planned for the new build and all the adventure videos to come.
Awsome viedo!
So what color is that bad boy?!
Edward nice description I hope you love your new wheels & tires are you going to sell your old tires & wheels to re-coup some back, I hope so ? No need to answer that as always .
Best
David
Thanks David. I plan on keeping them as backups just in case. No other plans for them yet.
Nice set up, front end is exaclty 2 inches higher? For rebel
What’s that bar on the bumper? Looks like it attaches where the hooks are.
Nice truck 👍👍
Thanks 🙏🤙
@@KrokemOutdoors 👍👍 like I said nice truck 👍👍
Any rubbing during flexing/articulation while off-roading?
What brand is that bar mounted on the tow points? Haven't seen that one before.
