- Where is everybody? Koh Phi Phi feels very, very empty. We were starting to wonder if we made the right decision to come here right now. Until we met ChaCha.

Koh Phi Phi is a beautiful place this time of year. Due to COVID, Koh Phi Phi is quite empty, which is very unusual. It's really difficult to see Koh Phi Phi like this, after having been there so many times. Usually, Koh Phi Phi is filled with people partying and having fun with the fire dancers on the beach, but now most things are closed. The ferry from Phuket to Koh Phi Phi is not very long but it is very beautiful. Koh Phi Phi is a paradise, but it definitely still recovering from COVID.
omg your little black and white 'lifeguard' cat is so chatty!
I'd go there just to "talk" to the cats!😽 thanks again for sharing. Hopefully the island will be able to open up more soon.
haha we spend so much time talking to the cats. i really hope it recovers :)
I love Koh Phi Phi - my favourite island in Thailand along with Koh Lipe in the deep south. I have done day trips to Koh Phi Phi from Phuket and Ao Nang in Krabi and also stayed there for 3 nights on another trip to Thailand
that's awesome :) what did you like in Koh Lipe? we may head there soon...
Bill - "how many cats can they fit into one video?"
Me - "just one more!"
[Cue another cat 😂]
What an amazing place to stay! We loved the uber talkative kitty.
hahaha yeah :) always room for more cats in our vlogs for sure
@@LisaAndJosh Please bring me more!! 😍😅
phi phi is just amazing nowadays, i really had a good time there , nature is most amazing than ever
right? the reefs and fish are back and it's amazing :)
I was there mid December 2021 . Our visit was a last minute thing and we only stayed one night . I could have stayed a month . The place was amazing . I will be back .
Agreed! So magical, that island. and such a special time to visit
so awesome
thank you!! :)
Hi Lisa and Josh. I've really enjoyed your videos and journey . such a positive energy. I will be travelling in Dec/Jan and will visit the islands too. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time.
thank you so much :) are you flying into phuket or bangkok first? it's a great time to travel thailand for sure!
@@LisaAndJosh Bangkok first for test and go then off to see my son in Chaingmai and finally down south to Krabi and Koh Lanta
planning a trip for Jan this is super helpful
so glad it was helpful! :)
Hey Josh, you seemed to have traveled everywhere. Where you 10 years old when you started travelling? I am lucky I got 2 weeks vacation..LOL! You are adventurous, I would never go there. It doesn't look too inviting and way too many cats walking around. Your video of Singapore looked really nice. Glad you are both enjoying yourselves!!! Safe travels.
lol i wish i was 10 when i started traveling!! for the past 8 years or so, i worked a year, saved up, and then traveled a year. this is the 4th trip around the world for me, so i guess i've been some places, and i'm also crazy lucky to be able to do this.
Phi Phi was super inviting for us, but I totally get that it's not for everyone :) Singapore is BEAUTIFUL and the food and the people and everything... definitely a wonderful place. Thanks so much for the nice comment and for watching!!
Thailand won't be the same 😐 so glad I go lt to live there before the shut down.
i think it will probably recover, but definitely will not be the same. that's not necessarily a bad thing... just... different.
Maya Bay is still closed to the public. Hopefully stays that way for preservation. Try and get a boat ride to mosquito Island nearby. Last time I was there jumped out the boat for a swim, cut my foot on coral and got infected afterwards. There's reef sharks around also that I saw while in the water below me. Boat guy said no problem they're safe. I was back in the boat very swiftly. 😆
Maya bay opening up in January, with controlled numbers
haha yeah i think i would get back in the boat ASAP after that too
I was there mid December and Maya Bay was open to boats but "The Beach" was still off limits . We snorkelled there for about an hour , our third snorkelling stop of the day , and to be honest , the most disappointing. The visibility was poor , and the coral and number of fish nowhere near as plentiful as we had seen earlier on the other side of the island.
The week after we left it was announced that the famous Maya Bay beach was reopening to limited numbers of boats per day . If our experience was anything to go by , I wouldn't bother .
Hi guys love finding your posts! question about Thailand accom when booking what do you use to book ie an app or direct with the business curious as we are heading over in mid Jan till feb and have a few days not booked any info would be great
Thanks so much!! We usually like using Agoda for most of our accommodations throughout Southeast Asia, including Thailand :)
The cat thing is real!!!!
its the best :)
I’m going from Phuket to ko phi phi next week, are there any other requirements other than passport and vaccine certificates?
nope - that's it! well, that and buying the ticket and transportation... and the 20 baht entry fee once you get to phi phi
Great thanks so much!
What website do you use to book your room?
For SEA - always Agoda :)
RAIN AGAIN!! This is killing me.................
ha yeah - it was raining a LOT while we were there
There are cats everywhere in phi phi
its the best :)
Thailand is the feral cat capital of the world.
that makes it an awesome place :)

Not until our Schengen visa gets renewed!
So the empty "Paradise" is the backyard pool with cats?
