You actually inspired me to buy a decant of this which arrived last week. It’s good - Nice Spices and approachable patchouli/earthy notes.. really hard to dislike. Like you, I find it rather versatile. I could see this being worn everyday; I think the name “Tuxedo” drives a lot of ppl into saying it’s a formal-only fragrance It’s linear in that it doesn’t change much (to my nose) and also fades pretty quickly into a skin scent. Very enjoyable overall but I wouldn’t pay the asking price of $200+ for it. Thanks for all the recs!

I just got a sample of tuxedo and it smells just like Gucci pour homme ii which is discontinued! Gucci ii is my ALL TIME favorite cologne. Consider tux a warm flanker of the fresh Gucci. Just copped 2 bottles of this because it’s the closest thing to it. Not sure which one I like more!

No more Tom Ford for me. I would try EAU DE SOLEIL BLANC EAU DE TOILETTE. It was sent as a free sample and it smells better than those cigarette ones like: Oud Wood, Tuscan Leather, Ombré Leather to name a few. Ombré has less hint of Cigarettes.
Neiman Marcus online says Tuxedo is backordered and not discontinued because of the pandemic screwing up production and supply lines. There are reviews from other fragrance nerds. One I watched claims Moustache EDP by Rochas is 80 to 90% close to YSL Tuxedo. He also says EDT version does not smell the same as the EDP version.

No longer buy designer fragrances. They just don't perform. My last designer purchase was Babycat, which I love, but the projection and longevity don't begin to justify the ridiculous price. Same for Chanel's Coromandel, which I picked up last year. For half the cost of these designer ripoffs, I can get a niche product that envelops the wearer in a glorious scent bubble for hours.

dont now about tuxedo but moustace edp has way to much Pepper in it .So it smells like cheap shaving water after shaving . Only after close to the end of dry down i can finally smell some good notes.

The only difference you get from Tuxedo if you have a trained nose you'll be able to distinguish the natural ingredients more then with Moustache. BUT 98% of people will not be able to tell the difference (only slightly more in the opening) but once it gets to the dry down it's virtually indistinguishable for everyone.
