      Thanks Harold, I'll try to do one on my workflow. Doing the videos at the same time is getting to be more and more difficult. I want to keep them fun as the viewer follows along. I could do just studio videos but man they aren't nearly as fun.

    Thanks for those awesome and very entertaining videos. Could you please do one on starting as sports photographer in terms of how to contact agencies that would hire a photographer to get pictures. Thanks Rob!

    AWESOME! I love your videos mate. I'm an Aussie fan of your channel, so you're doing well if your vids have made it all the way down here lol. Have you or ever taken shots at a Rugby Game? If so, what would be your tips, or where would the best shots be taken from ie sideline, goal line etc.

    Never clicked a video so fast. Great to see you back uploading videos. If you don't mind me asking, what were the settings for the pictures taken remotely (Shutter, aperture, iso, focus)? Thanks for your hard work.

    • @RobGrayPhotography
      @RobGrayPhotography  5 лет назад +1

      The remote camera was set at 1/2000 F/3.2 ISO 1600 with autofocus turned off. Set your focus on a subject and turn it off and put some gaff tape over the focus ring so it doesn't move with any vibrations. I think the settings really would be dependent on the arena you are shooting in. The lights at this venue have been updated so the light is really nice.

    Great video. For your soccer assignments.. do you take your pack with you out on the pitch or leave it locked to a desk or something in the media room?

    • @RobGrayPhotography
      @RobGrayPhotography  5 лет назад

      Hi Carl. For soccer I bring my bag with me to the field. My next video is going to be on my workflow and I'll address this specifically on why I bring my gear with me when I can. For most sports you don't get to move around a lot and that would be the biggest factor on why I wouldn't bring my bag or not. American Football is specifically a sport I leave my bag in the media room because you follow the play up the field and can switch sides etc. Locking it up depends on where the media room is located and how much access "outsiders" have.

    Hi rob, do you have an cheaper alternative for the pocket wizards? I can’t seem to buy them in my country…

  • @JonZobrist
    @JonZobrist 5 лет назад +1

    Link for the DJI Osmo goes to the + not the pocket. Were you nervous taking it out on that skinny walk way?

    • @RobGrayPhotography
      @RobGrayPhotography  5 лет назад

      ok it's fixed and I removed the microphone since the Osmo Pocket doesn't have one yet. The sound was actually pretty good. I used the Osmo for everything except in the studio.

    Hi, sire, what camera settings do you use for the indoor photography?

    • @RobGrayPhotography
      @RobGrayPhotography  5 лет назад

      The remote camera was at 1/2000, F/3.2, ISO 1600. The camera in my hands is at 1/1000, F/3.2, ISO 3200 or 1/1250, F/2.8, ISO 3200.

    Hey Rob, or any other photographers here. I'm 19 almost 20 and I'm getting more and more into sports photography. I currently use a Canon 70-200 2.8 and a Canon rebel t5i body. I'm looking at upgrading my body to something more sports photography oriented. Any suggestions on a camera I should buy with a $1,500.00 budget? Thanks!

    • @RobGrayPhotography
      @RobGrayPhotography  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Alex, I think you're doing it right. I started with a 70-200mm F/2.8 IS II and a Canon Rebel. I still use the same 70-200mm while going through a few different bodies so investing in lenses is the smart way to go. That does tie you down to the brand you start buying glass for. I would go to the 7D Mark ii next amzn.to/2DxjeHg and if you can get one with a kit, get the 28-105mm F/4 with IS. That is a great lens for video also. I used the 28-105mm at an NBA game yesterday (I dropped my 24-70mm again). You will save some money on the lens by buying it in a kit.

    I think it's important to tell people that as a professional you can perhaps re-invest to buy more gear....the average person needs to be independently wealthy to afford all the gear you have. Also, can you provide the metadata for the pictures you use in the video?

    • @RobGrayPhotography
      @RobGrayPhotography  5 лет назад

      You are 100% correct. One of the biggest barriers to entry for a sports photographer is indeed the cost of the equipment. I was thinking about that a couple weeks ago. There are a few channels on shooting on a budget but you can't actually get a job with a wire service without professional equipment. I think my channel started out more like having you follow along like you were part of the team. I have a lot of people ask if they can hold my camera bag just so they can be on the sidelines.
