Hi Jami - Unfortunately, it only takes but one trespasser to encroach a good place to call home, gets cozy with the new digs and delicious grubs and before you know it, it’s summoned the family, the friends, the coworkers and even little creepers that hang around the outer edges of plant society and they all come and proclaim squatter rights to the leaves of plants and trees. Sometimes, you have to take drastic measures to evict them and yes, craft scissors work fine!!

I think its a UNICORN CATERPILLAR MOTH, we use to get them on our apple trees. Be careful they can squirt a goo that can cause blistering....found out the hard way as a kid when we tried catching them to scare other kids and our hands and arms began to burn from the goo then it blistered up....face too where we touched. Worse than my sisters poison ivy LOL. Only reason i know what this bug is.😂😂😂😂

I order everything from Amazon and. I got them to put over my greenstalks, even though I have the ones that come with the greenstalk too, but I thought and never hurts to have extras so they’re large netting that go right over your fruit trees and it small and it tightens at the bottom, nothing can get to them if you wanna go that route…😁

if you don’t spray your trees more than once a year, you’re gonna have bugs inside the fruit. You need to go to your local Orchard and ask them what kind of spray they use for fruit trees. Store-bought sprays are not always good. I have certain stuff for my vegetable plants and they turn out great every year. You got bugs with yours I’m dealing with baby bunnies.

Someday I hope to replace it, but only when I have all the stuff I need to destroy any bug that pesters it. You sound like me when the squirrels cut the heads off my tulips. So many people have gorgeous tulips but I have to cage mine to keep the squirrels from beheading them. Not Fair! Also, why do the Robins always have to try to build nests on our motion lights right next to our outside doors? I have perfectly fine trees all over. And the woodpeckers beat on my wood sided house despite all the dead trees in my woods! I feel better knowing I am not the only one that gets a little nuts about pests.

It is a unicorn caterpillar.caterpillars. How to keep caterpillars off plants without killing them?
Caterpillars may have a taste for your plants, but they can't stand the pungent power of garlic. Whip up a garlic solution by mixing 1 tablespoon of molasses, 1 teaspoon of dish soap, and a liter of warm water. Give your plants a regular spray-down with this concoction, and watch those caterpillars turn tail and run.

Ok, there are, off hand, 47 different types of fruit tree bugs that can cause damage. It was very hard to identify from upside down, sideways, under shady leafs. The bugs have to be in the light and photoed full on. Or a dead one sent to your local agriculture center, or a visit from a fruit tree arborists. Who can identify each type and how they can quickly and safely be treated. But my next suggestion is the one below this comment.
