Thank you so, so much for this in-depth overview of the R5 C. Great teacher, production value, everything. Do more of these please. The format is great.
Great job Canon and Jem! Glad to see Canon has not given up on the R5C. Hoping Canon would create a better battery just for the R5C in the future that can give us a longer record time, yes keeping the camera the same size.
Canon, if you're reading this, please give us the following through the firmware update; Clog2, viewassist on while media preview, allow power save mode while luminance is over 0.
Thank you! This was really a great video to help me understand all the setting options and terminology as a newer video recording user.
I’m considering purchasing an R5C. Excellent and detailed video. Thank you for sharing this information. Very helpful and appreciated!
This is great! Thank you for making these videos. It’s very helpful to get such detail of the codecs from our R5Cs.
We are heavily invested in Canon and absolutely love it! Our line up is c300mkiii, c70 and 2 R5s. BUUUUT! How can it be that you continue to use a micro-hdmi in some bodies... It's soooo bad. Especially frustrating to have in a body like the R5C when it is designed to be a Cinema camera. This has to be the last body that is not using at least a full size HDMI, minimuim.
I'm a R5c user. This is a true Hybrid Camera, I hope it will have 240Fps in future. This will not be a game-changer, but it will be a game-winner. Thank you Canon USA for Making this R5 C Training Series.😇

excelent explanation... I love my Canon R5C... just love it!!!
I’m considering getting an R5C with dual fisheye lens for VR180, a 100-400 for wildlife and a 24-70 for the rest. This would be an upgrade to, and replacement for my Nikon 3200 (APS-C) setup and Vuze XR (5.7k). It would be a massive upgrade for the Nikon, but am unsure how much of an upgrade for the Vuze (here a big step up is important, because VR180 needs very high resolution to look decent as it’s spread over a huge area). I’m trying to get hold of/rent the combo to test before committing. This video series is a big help preparing … whereby the complexity of settings combination is a bit daunting, but hope it will be worth the effort. Comments from owners who say how much they love the camera are encouraging !
Very clear and informative video. Thanks
What’s the table top tripod you’re using?
Does changing the CP in raw have any difference on the image? You mentioned that raw already has the most dynamic range in the recording, but it’s still possible to change the CP when in raw
This is rock solid! Thank you for this!
hello , can i turn off c-log in r5c an record with camera colors like r5 with not c-log?
Hello Hajo!
The R5 C has many recording options including ones that do not use C-log. Our Cinema support agents are the best to answer questions on these options. You can contact them at 1-855-246-3367, 7 days a week, excluding holidays. If you live outside the USA, visit our Global web site to find the Cinema contact for your country - Canon.us/globalsupport. We hope this information helps!
great job, very helpful
Sir, I hope R5C should add the vertical shooting mode in the future.
because something is strange.
There is option for showing menu as vertical mode but it does not change the video as vertically.
Is there even a gimbal that can properly support the R5C with the latest firmware? DJI rs3 pro cant, crane 4 cant.
What are you talking about? 😂 mine handles it just fine
@@ThaGhettoBlasterControling iso, aperture etc. You can have efocus but on latest forms nothing else.
Thank you so much!! Very, very good!!
Thank you for this great resource Canon :)
One thought: This is the perfect remote cinema camera: why isn’t the WiFi remote an option when even the xc10 can do it?
LOVE the song at the end. What's the name? Thanks
Man i just wish we could get a bump in frame rate, 4K 120 but nothing faster than 120 even in 1080p? camera seems more than capable...
What is "cinema capture" when talking about 24p at 24Hz? Even guy from Canon at presentation here in PL didnt know what that 24Hz do.
Hi.
Cinema capture discussed is recording video at a true 24 FPS. This frame rate has been a general standard for cinema releases beginning with film movies and continuing into current day releases. The system frequency of the R5 C needs to be set at 24hz to access this frame rate. Our friendly camera techs can explain the feature in detail. In the USA, you can reach them at 1-855-246-3367, 7 days a week, Outside the USA, you can find support through our global website - Canon.us/globalsupport.
thx
Please I have been looking for way to shoot 4:3 aspect ratio in canon R5c but no option. Please anyone knows?
Hi jcee! Our Cinema agents can answer questions on the camera's settings. Reach out to them, any time, at 1-855-246-3367. Hope that helps!
How do I view the XF-AVC format on my Mac?
This is a great question for our support team! Give them a call at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666), they're around Monday to Saturday!
informative video
Juz give us bluetooh to connect while in mode video mode
The fastest SD card I have is 300 megabits per second. How exactly can you record with DSD card at that high data rate?
Hello. Jim notes in the section on “2nd Card Record Functions” 13:51, that there are some caveats to the formats you can select for the 2nd card. Our Cinema camera support team can help you with the R5 C operation. You can reach at them 1-855-246-3367, 24 hours, 7 days a week, excluding holidays.
This video assumes that you have a high degree of video literacy. I have none. I have no idea what he is talking about. This is not helpful to me.
i say this with respect, if you don't have a high degree of video literacy, you probably wouldn't want to pick up a cinema line camera
LMAO WHY GET THIS CAMERA THEN
What is the brand of the external power source or bank? What brand tripod are you using?
canon in the best traditions of exorbitant noise in the shadows even at low iso, with color processing so that green becomes yellow with an insanely soapy picture and gradients that pour in from excess noise and graininess, so that neither 8k nor raw 12 bit can even save the image with all noise suppressors and neural networks. I will never buy this crap again!
Nah, you just don’t understand how too use it.
@@mavfan1So true! Lots of who have no clue how to use a camera correctly make ridiculous assumptions
