    great video. It's hard to find videos specifically for the R5C. Most videos are for the R5 but as we know, there are some definite differences.

    Do you have to turn off Monoaural to utilize external mics such as the RODES?

    Q If I jam sync the camera and the battery runs out, will the timecode then be lost? Also, is there notable drift in the timecode when soley using the camera.

    Great but can you please explain more thoroughly the audio menu functions - mic att on or off etc? I have both the wireless and the exact shotgun mic. The Rode shotgun mic produces such unusable audio compared to wireless Comica and I am wondering if it's the settings.

    How do you show the timecode on the top right of the screen?

    • @CanonUSA
      @CanonUSA  2 месяца назад

      Hi Isaac!
      The default display is to have the time code at the top right. You can use the custom display function to turn off individual onscreen displays. Setting details are on page 51 of the camera's video manual here: canon.us/3Rip458. If you need help with this setting, our Cinema support team is happy to assist! Great series, i have a question on the Tascam unit, why was there a trs cable from the unit into the camera? I thought the unit interfaces directly with the camera digitally using the multifunction shoe?

    • @CanonUSA
      @CanonUSA  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Razan,
      Great question. The TASCAM unit demonstrated in the video at 8:15 is the (TASCAM CA-XLR2d-AN XLR) analog interface kit. It can be used with cameras with traditional hotshoe mounts and would need to be plugged into the mic port. You are correct that there is a digital version of the TASCAM adapter unit (CA-XLR2d-C XLR) that can communicate directly with the Canon multi-function accessory shoe. This is noted in the video caption at minute 8:29. You can also check the TASCAM site for details: tascam.com/us/product/ca-xlr2d/top
      Hope this clarifies things.

    Nice series. I have question, 2:57 there is TC In or Out. Is there a chance i can send the TC out through cable to another canon camera like c70 or r5c and sync them that way in a free run using only a TC cable? Or that would be too beautifull to work and I need a TC generator like deity? Thanks in advance for responding 😊

    • @roemerfilm
      @roemerfilm Год назад +1

      Yes, you can sync TC from one Canon Cinema camera to others via a TC cable. You don’t need a TC generator like the Deity. I do it all the time, R5 C and C70s. Also works with C300 and C500 series.

      Hi Bartek! Yes, the EOS R5 C can be set to accept (Input) time code or to send out (Output) time code to other cameras. Details on setting this up are on pages 103-104 of the R5 C Video manual. Here is a link: canon.us/3PVbwgE
      We hope this helps.

      @@roemerfilm I was curious about this C70 to R5C setup. Is it a special cable you need in this instance? I do the SDI thing with C300's all the time, but the R5C looks like it uses something else.

    • @roemerfilm
      @roemerfilm Год назад

      @@phil-prod-206 Yes, you need a DIN-BNC cable with a long release. Canon linked to the R5 C video manual above where it mentions it. I got a Canare L-2.5CHD 3G/HD-SDI Cable with 1.0/2.3 DIN to BNC Male Connectors. It has the long release on one end and the regular short release on the other. Easy TC sync to a C70 and also to C300 series and C500 series camera.

    Thank you so much. Great series. I have one question regarding the audio recording using the built-in mic. I have an EF 24-70 2.8 L-Series lens attached to the R5C using the EF-EOS adaptor with a Drop-in ND filter. The stills are excellent and way beyond what I experienced with my 5D III. The Audio however picks up all the auto-focus noise, making it literally unusable. I do appreciate that this is probably not the right lens for videography, and the internal mic is not the ideal mic, but is there any way that this could be resolved just in case there is an emergency and not enough time to attach an external mic?
    Also, would an external mic, attached to the camera body through a hot-show attachment or through the Tascam Audio Interface,
    still have the same issues?
    Thank you so much again for a fantastic series.

    Beware of the Tascam XLR unit for Canon R5C. My Tascam XLR device worked in testing then suddenly on a job failed, giving a warning which reads "Currently the accessory is not supported." No explanation of why, you can change power source, camera settings, try remounting the device, it will not work.

      And how is the situation now… maybe you could give some more information like the Firmware version of both camera, the Tascam XLR unit and its originality… did you ask Tascam for any information? Thank you…

    canon in the best traditions of exorbitant noise in the shadows even at low iso, with color processing so that green becomes yellow with an insanely soapy picture and gradients that pour in from excess noise and graininess, so that neither 8k nor raw 12 bit can even save the image with all noise suppressors and neural networks. I will never buy this crap again!
