Dale Jarrett Doesn't Mince Words and Says Alex Bowman and Other Drivers Are 'Too Sensitive'

- Alex Bowman has had a rough 2023 Cup Series season. It didn't begin that way. The No. 48 started as one of the fastest cars in the garage, recording six top 10s in the season's first seven races (three of them top fives). But a back injury suffered during a mid-week sprint car race in April derailed the Hendrick Motorsports team.
Since then, Bowman has just a pair of top-10 finishes. Two. Last weekend at Darlington, he was in position late to add a third, running eighth and battling with Daniel Suarez when a poor choice to make a second block on the Trackhouse car proved costly, taking out both cars. After the race, both drivers called out the other for "dumb" moves. Bowman even went out of his way to mention that Suarez's crew chief had flipped him off in the past.
Up in the Peacock Pit Box, Dale Jarrett heard those remarks. He couldn't help himself and responded, taking direct aim Bowman for his comments, suggesting the HMS driver and others in today's NASCAR are "too sensitive."

Dale Jarrett never said anything such as, flipping the bird should be a regular thing in NASCAR, as you implied at the end of the video. He simply stated that you have to have thicker skin, and not get your feathers so ruffled when it happens.

Idk I think at least a few of them would do just fine. I.E Harvick, Busch and Larson.

The comments show that the fans are just as sensitive as the drivers these days.
This is what happens when you bring drivers at TOO YOUNG of an age into the sport. The difference in previous generations of drivers, as that they were older and had to get seasoned and tested in more local racing. The only way to survive that climb up the ladder was to be talented, fast, and WIN RACES, before being elevated to the top level of racing. Today, drivers get elevated at too young of an age, hence the lack of personal fortitude. These whiny driver occurrences happened to Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, and Kyle Busch early in their careers. The common denominator is that they didn’t have enough maturity yet.
And yet they are all Cup Champions.
Jeff Gordon was a big whiner also.

Idk if he 'blocked' the 2nd time, looked almost like he panicked being that low and cut back up and forgot that there was a car there. Dumb move either way and was his fault still
Facepalm... Bowman blaming Suarez for the wreck after 2 Blocks, saying Suarez should have lifted... Dude he blocked once and it didnt work why do you think it would have worked the 2nd time. Suarez even said he tried his best to not wreck Bowman on that 1st block.

Dale Jarrett is a real race car driver. Driver's knee 80's and 90's didn't buy their way into racing. They settled it on the track without being fined hundreds of thousands of dollars in owner points. This racing Now sucks

If the guy talking knew his history, he'd know what David Pearson thought of people flipping him off..................In the mid 80s at the summer race at Daytona, Tim Richmond flipped Pearson off and after the race, Pearson confronted him and knocked him out.
I wish they'd just let them go at it and settle it with some fists......now that's a tradition!

It's because of the playoffs format thats got everyone on edge nascar is now as hard to win as the NHL Stanley Cup is don't get me wrong it's fun to watch but as a racer 😬

The generations after GenX are so sensitive and soft that it’s quite sad. Great analogy about how stick and ball sports you can instantly tell or show someone you are not happy with them. Other than flipping the 🐦 what can they do? Oh well one thing had become a bit popular, they are wrecking each other if the 🐦 doesn’t work! That they have to stop for sure.

to take care of your car for so long & risk a DNF after hours of work is kind of a lose/lose risk to take.losing valuable points so late in the year.not much time left to make those owner points up.

On Aric and Bubba incident. It’s a bit different, Aric basically said it. He race him clean and nobody touch. So he just wanted to see why the finger. If Bubba wanted to mouth him off for no reason. Well, Aric was gonna make it a reason and put him in his place. So that’s why he shoved him. 😂
But yes, Bowmen is an idiot for blocking like that. Those who seen the race would know that the 48 also try to do the same thing to the 1 car but he manage to go deep and pass him. The 99 wasn’t so lucky & got blocked twice.

Well , let just all agree that flipping the bird is a sign of disrespect and these days showing disrespect in almost any way can get you in trouble , or maybe killed . It’s people’s attitudes that are changing . Just flipping the bird can cause major road rage incidents .

Alex Bowman is really sensitive. That off-track incident he mentioned has nothing to do with what he was asked. Also tried to deflect by saying "well yeah other guys do stuff, too!" Man up and take the mistake, Alex. If you're comfortable in who you are, that stuff shouldn't bother you.

Imagine some of these guys running with Pearson, Baker,Jarrett, Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt, Ernie Irvin they would have sent some of these drivers home crying to their Mamas.. Larson, Chastain Bell are old school to me they let their race cars shut everyone up. @JWC924 I'm glad someone else can hear the inflection in his voice! As we say around here, 'he's got some sugar in his gas tank'. Personally, I think Bowman is on the skids and can't gain traction. Since his crash and broken vertebrae, he has been a back marker (for the most part) since his return. Same with the twat in the 9 car. Wonder if HMS is shopping for a replacement in the 48 steering wheel holder department?

Bowman only blocked him once he was just coming back up to take the corner. But how many other drivers did the same thing as bowman and they didn't get wrecked. Without blocking it wouldn't be nascar and nascar shouldn't stop it that's just part of racing.

Bowman blocking should have been black flagged. Complete lack of respect. It’s racing the faster car passes. He deserves the outcome 💯 and hopefully he keeps getting the lesson until he races. The #1 car is racing now he gets it!

What do people want? If they show any personality they get bashed, if they show none they get bashed. Everybody says he blocked twice, but how I see it Alex was just getting back up the track to be able to make to corner. It did look like a block but things are not always as they appear. He shouldn’t have blocked the first time. 🤷🏼♂️
