With gasket maker, you can put it on both surfaces, or just the valve cover, what I do, I apply it to both surfaces, let it dry for about 3 to 5 minutes then I put it together, wait 45 minutes, then apply final torque, then let it dry over night, then you're good to go, nice job and great sale.
Don't know if you know this, but a trick I use for shining up a mower, I use ATF automatic transmission fluid, but only regular atf, atf+4 or any other kind doesn't work as well, put the atf on a clean rag and wipe it down, it looks brand new.
It’s likely that if it was well maintained the owner may have taken it to a shop. After so much run time sometimes they recommend the valves be adjusted, so if that happened then a shop could have used silicone after adjusting the valves?
I put gray plastic dip on the mower I bought it had a hole along the seam. So I bought it and fixed it with plastic dip. Looks good has held. If it comes loose I’ll try duct tape and look for a used seat. New is like 600 bucks. Hell nah
Also get a green slime container empty and clean it out, then put atf fluid in it, and when you have a tire that has a slow leak, it will seal it better then the green slime, use about 1 pint of atf squeeze it into the valve stem with the valve out of the valve stem, fill it with the pint, spin the tire so it coats the inside of the tire, put the brass valve back in the valve stem, fill it with air, run it around, and it will fix the leak, it won't fix an object in the tire but it sometimes fixes dry rotted, or slow leak tires.
The gasket maker is good to know about. I have a v- twin with some leakage on the valve covers.
I really liked seeing the completion of this project!! Great job; can't beat a $1,500 profit, especially for the amount of work you put into it
Thanks! This one turned out well.
Gorilla black duct tape for the seats 😎
😬
I don’t really like the way that looks…

Thanks for sharing! I don’t have a lot of experience with gasket maker, so I appreciate hearing how others use it.
I have the same lawn mower
Nice! Do you like it?
@@garagestory yes it's my first 0 turn. I will be doing patch work on a worn out deck

How long does it stay looking nice?
@@garagestory ruffly a week or 2 longer if it's in a covered place.
New sub✔️
great job man. I do the same on my free time. I mainly deal with John Deere
Thanks! There is money in Deere’s, so not a bad place to specialize!

Could be!
Hello friend hey I need some help to get my toro zero turn fix
I have some videos about Toro zero turns, maybe they will help?

I’ve thought about trying the plastic dip, but haven’t yet. That’s good to hear some feedback!

Interesting! I never thought of using ATF to help seal a tire.
@@garagestory oh yeah a trick we small engine flippers know well, it really works wonders on the mowers, and in the tires.
@@garagestory just remember regular atf.
