Even though they say she's his daughter, I still suspect that she may actually be a clone of him. She acts a little too much like Heihachi for it to be just idealization, and Heihachi having another bastard child that is also super strong seems unlikely. Maybe she's like some genetic hodgepodge of Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin.
Perhaps, she indeed is the daughter but we don't know if she was normally born like many or created to be. Because Heihachi before his death, researched demonic power for his immortality. So if he used one of his children as an experimental subject was highly possible.
Reina is not a lore-friendly character. She's Heihachi's daughter, but is around the same age as Jin or Asuka, having graduating from Mishima Polytechnical School. She calls Jin her "senpai" meaning he's older by a minimum of a year. So Heihachi had to have been getting around some time after Jin was born, even though Kazuya and Lars (and Lee who he adopted) are around the same age. I'm okay with Heihachi having a daughter and even okay with having her just the same age as some of the younger characters. What doesn't sit well with me is that Kazuya got his devil gene from his mother Kazumi Hachijo-Mishima, not his father Heihachi Mishima. The gene is passed down by Kazuya in the direct Mishima bloodline, not Heihachi or his father Jinpachi. It explains why Lars, the half-brother of Kazuya and the son of Heihachi can't access the devil gene that he doesn't carry. Hachijo is the bloodline where the devil gene started, so Reina having that ability when she's canonically the HALF-sister to Kazuya and the daughter of Heihachi (not Kazumi) makes no sense as he doesn't carry the gene. There are no signs or hints that she was any kind of experimentation in the story of Tekken 8. Maybe it might be retconned in Tekken 9 or some spin-off game, or perhaps elaborated further by a movie or something... But as of now, she's just the daughter of Heihachi. The Mishima Polytechnical branch (the same one that captured Nina Williams) was closed after killing off all the children in failed experiments except for one - Steve Fox, so she couldn't have been experimented on because the division was botched right before her conception, as she is younger than Jin and this took place before Tekken 2. However she was trained as an assassin by the school branch, which Lee seemed to be aware of. She also has no suspicious activities nor background fallacies when they checked her for the King of Iron Fist's 8th Tournament. So canonically through bloodline, nor through experimentation could she have had the devil gene. So unless she is just confused somehow or her background gets retconned, she is a far-cry from being lore-friendly. At least Kazumi from Tekken 7 had a consistent background to make her lore friendly...
Tekken 8 explains that azazel gave many families the devil gene which included the hachijos so another family with devil teen is where reina’s mother likely come from

Not really. Heihachi was trying to get rid of it. If he truly wanted the power, he could have extrapolated it from his father, his wife, his son, or even Jin. Heihachi’s whole schtick is being powerful by his own merits. The only time he legit sought magic for himself was the fountain of youth for immortality.
There's still a bit of mystery to her since she is questionably a Mishima with Kazami's blood. Either Heihachi succeeded in giving her, a 'bastard' child such power or she's Jin's secret aunt presumably kept in cold storage like Nina was.
Really does seems to fit the cold storage clone of Heihachi like Steve to Nina but infused with Ogre's blood hence her extreme durability and red eyes awakened after a near death experience.
my theory is she, when she got hit by Kazuya's beam on the island, absorbed part of Azazel's power through that blast. I don't think it's an impossible theory that she is instead the daughter of Kazumi, but I think her design is more Azazel-y than Kazumi-y

He's been working on learning how to control the devil powers his whole life. Don't think too far into it. He simply made her. She a real human with injected powers. And of course he wouldn't do it on him bc he didnt know the side affects. Which is why she's studying jin so much to take back the information. It's a pretty straight forward story line tbt

I doubt Harada will pull that shenenigans and like what DOA 6 did to the final boss of DOA 1 - it’ll be a weird pattern because Honaka has an evil father in that story whom they brought back to life, and Reina’s father is Heihachi who is also bad and evil. Guess G Corporations story is not yet over even after Kazuya is defeated.
Several factors to consider: Reina adores Heihachi which means she knew him on a personal level. She knows the Mishima-Style which had to have been taught to her by Heihachi. Heihachi took a liking to Ling Xiaoyu for a reason that could be she reminds him of Reina. I believe he personally raised her in secret as a foil to Kazuya with future offspring should he fail in defeating him.

Personally I can't see it for 2 main reasons: 1) The Hachijo clan being wiped out and I doubt she's been in cold storage for several decades 2) Even if the idea of her being a Hajicho was true, why would she want to ever avenge or continue Heihachi's legacy
Tekken 9 probably be a timeskip which the main character will Jins's kid and that Kid name will be Kyuu Kazama. Oddy enough Kyuu mean 9 in Japanese and also used a Japanese term to used in modern martial arts.
I doubt that would happen considering her target is kazuya. We’re probably most likely to see a kazuya redemption arc in the next game a.k.a there turning kazuya into the vegeta of the franchise.
I have a crack theory that Heihachi had Kazumi's body preserved somewhere so that he can delve deeper about the devil gene. He was still somehow able to get, preserve, and freeze several of Kazumi's eggs. Which resulted to Reina... Besides, Heihachi had a past history of experimenting with genetics and how the devil gene was passed down. In fact, at first, he thought that the devil gene works like an STD and he could've gotten it (he was wrong with this assumption, as proven by Lars' existence). Also, they did the same thing with Nina, which resulted to Steve, so it's not far off that Heihachi would do that...
He can't since in T4, it's clearly said that he can't melt his blood with Ogre's because he needs the Devil gene, that only Jin and Kazuya have. If he still got Kazumi's body, Tekken 4 may never happened or at least, not that way...
When Jinpachi died you guys didn't think that devil gene-ogre like demon just vanished into thin air, right? It searched the earth for months finding a new host and with this hot blooded girl dead from Kazuya's beam. She was the perfect person to possess someone who had the desire to kill unlike Jinpachi

And in devil jin's interlude he and Jinpachi talk about devil when the only people who knows about it is Kazuya that's because he's being possessed by it and when Jin isn't in his devil form he only knows about the devil gene he has no idea who devil is. Heihachi also knows what is that's because he fought it before and had a conversation with it. When someone enters their devil form, they act completely different from themselves and think they're in control when they're not. In Devil Jin's interlude, he says his will has surpassed Devil when he's not in control of his body. And if it was an evil spirit, He wouldn't be saying, "My name is Jinpachi Mishima. My goal is to destroy all of existence!" If it was an evil spirit, it would've stated its name instead of Jinpachi's. In Jin's interlude (the canon timeline), when Jin tells Jinpachi he has the devil's blood , Jinpachi says, "So that's why my blood is screaming to destroy you!" Harada saying Jinpachi doesn't have the devil gene makes no sense, lol it's the same with the devil gene activating during a near death experience when T3 contradicts this when Jin gets shot in the head and becomes devil jin

He was possessed by a spirit but it wasn't the Devil Gene. Also, the idea of a near death experience isn't contradicted at all by Jin's Tekken 3 ending. Think of it like the Hulk explanation with Banner: Banner shoots himself through the mouth but he doesn't die. It just activates the Hulk. Same can be said for Jin being shot by Heihachi. Even if you want to continue using that as an argument, it's still easily negated by Kazuya being thrown off a cliff as a kid. He should have died from that fall but as he (somehow) didn't, the near death experience awakened the Devil Gene.

I believe that in Tekken 9 Reina will start a fight against Kazuya but Kazuya himself might be a changed man because of Jun Kazama. I don't know if Jin will play some role in all of it. It might be Kazuya Jun and Jin against Reina. The Mishimas might become a family after all.
One theory of mind says that at the end of Tekken 7 Heihatchi lied to the journalist, that it is the Mashima's is that carry the devil Gene or like another theory says that she may be the x-23 to kazuya's Wolverine.
From everything we see so far, the only possible origin for Reina I think is that Heihachi either had a child with a second wife, lab grown her or adopted her, and experimented the devil gene on her, then train her in the Mishima style. Which explains why she isn't able to use the devil power and why she's in Mishima polytechnic

So Reina has to be Heihachi's cloned daughter. After discovering Lars didn't inherit devil powers from him, Kazuya came back from the dead being thrown from a cliff as a child after having devil powers inherited by his late wife Kazumi and discovering that Jin can't be controlled it makes sense he'd make someone unquestionably loyal to him with powers of the Devil. Having his death be the catalyst of her inherited will as both a Mishima and devil it's almost too good not to be true.
Honestly, that is the reason I think she sucks and also makes 0 sense to exist. Like "Wow another Heihachi heir to the family drama... Oh what is that!? She also turns into a devil form!!" So boring and lame.

Heihachi made an insurance by creating a demon powered vessel(Reina) in order to stand againts Kazuya if he wouldn't survive the final battle. Reina is still new to the roster and her backstory is shrouded still. I have reasons to believe, that she is bioweapon with a memory(probably false) about Heihachi being her dad. Her fighting style, spirit, character as well as her uncanny ability to think like her dad could be a genetic programming and data from previous Iron Fist Tournaments in order to study her opponents. Basically she is the kid that Heihachi always wanted. Kinda dumb theory, but seems VERY Tekken to me imo.
@@HailMyMetal666 true, being lab manufactered would explain a lot about her, because as we know so far the genes come from Kazumi and introducing a character that would be Kazuya's sister at this point of the story when she had no mention of existing whatsoever is pretty meh... The only character that wasn't part of the Kazumi bloodline and got a devil was Jinpachi, so we also have that direction that she acquired the powers later too to consider. At the end Tekken 8 is sick, they've done a great job.

I feel like Reina let kazuya beam hit her in purpose, she knows she cant win against kazuya or jin she studied jin when fighting him and learned that devil can be awaken when feeling threat of dying, and that's how Reina unlocked her devil power, now her villian arc begins.
Jin's whole story was to erase the demon powers with angel power now who's going to stop Reina with her demon power? I'm guessing Jin had angel power's left or is it kazuyas redemption idk what will happen in the next story since there's nothing that can rival demon powers other than angel which the only character who had angel power's is Jin
In the game they do mention that the devil gene was given to certian humans by Azazel. Maybe she's relates to another bloodline which was granted the gene; since we know that Kazumi is long dead and Heohachi never possessed the gene itself.
I do think she is a true Mishima and not a clone simply because like Jin sees a overshadow of Heihachi in Reina; Kazuya sees an over shadow of Heihachi in Lars which to me doesn't seem like a coincidence

My theory is that she is Kazuya's daughter and similar to Jin, Heihachi took her in and raised her, so she classes him as a father figure. Makes more sense with her age (being younger than Jin) as opposed to being the daughter of Kazumi or clone theory. Makes her legit of carrying the devil gene (unless she is a descendant of another bloodline that Azazel gave the gene to).

The general feel I got from Heihachi in all of his endings is how he wanted to be youthful/immortal, i can’t remember that one ending, maybe T6/TTT2? But I feel like reina is either a clone of him OR he’s transferred his consciousness into her. Who knows… either way she’s a great addition and I’m excited to see what they do with her character in future installments… god I hope Jun is actually alive from that ending

@@kingnezuko Reina is one of the 30+ children Heihachi had with different women when he was experimenting with the devil gene (like Lars). It's possible her mother was a part of Hachijo clan like Kazumi or another woman with the devil gene (hachijo clan wasn't the only one), or that he succeeded with isolating the devil gene and Reina's powers are the result. Jun is alive, Harada confirmed it, basically she defeated the Ogre and was recovering for years, but is back now. As for Heihachi, he didn't want to get rid of the devil gene, he wanted it for himself, thinking it would grant him even more power and eternal youth. Reina wants to avenge her father and possibly take over the Mishima Zaibatsu, from what it looks like she was trained by Heihachi after Jin (that's why she calls him senpai) and she knows she has no chance of defeating Kazuya and Jin without awakening her devil gene
I hope more info on Reina comes out either by DLC or Tekken 9. Though I doubt it'll be DLC since I don't think there are any fighting games that used DLC to expand on story so it'll likely be Tekken 9. We definitely need backstory on Reina since it looks like she dealt with Jin and Kazuya to learn more about the devil form and on how to trigger her own. Like, since we seen that Jinpachi is definitely not fully Human so would this mean that whatever Jinpachi is, those genes skipped past Kazuya and become inherited by Reina? Since it is possible for genes to skip a generation for bloodlines. Lastly, I must admit, I love how the shadow of Heihachi haunts some of the people in the game.

I have trouble believing that companies nowadays cannot hire better translator. The sense of the sentence is completely different. Not only did he not use a metaphor as pulling X ass of the fire, which at the same time, metaphor as a way to color someone speech, which is underserved because he didn't. Also in the game subtitle, he says "My ass" (instead of saving us), it's simply not accurate, he said "saved all of us". Sometime things are lost in translation and comedy is near impossible to translate from one language to another, but this was just lazy translation.
Theory: Reina is a scientific byproduct (cloning and genetics) of Heihachi Mishima's attempts to replicate the devil gene and make it a weapon. However, it turns out to be a failure since Heihachi cannot make her as powerful as Kazuya and Jin.
She has to be Kazumi's daughter also in order to have devil genes ,but Kazumi was killed when Kazuya was not even 5 years old. Kazuya is now 50 yo... something doesn't seems right. Maybe she is a clone after all cause she is very young
Looks like a new demon has appeared. In her ending, after Yggdrasil's forces apprehended Kazuya Mishima, Reina says she's gonna rebuild the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Quite reasonable. Remember the Kazuya here is already a clone by G-corp, and a female version of Kazuya indeed pocessses devil gene while at same time being technically Heihachi's daughter. Also I guess she somehow has Heihachi's memory since she knows certainly too much sometimes.

The only possible reason for this is that Heihachi got laid with Eliza before moving to Kazumi. And Eliza isn't truly a "vampire" but rather one of the original devils during Azazels Prime. Heihachi was probably taking care of her while Eliza was sleeping for god knows how long and since she's that sleepy it wouldn't be suprising the Heihachi got another woman, and when Reina was strong enough, she left heihachi to train on her own or Heihachi left her when he knows she was strong enough She's probably older than Kazuya but since we're talking about Eliza here, she would look the same
Hot take: I don’t think Reina having the Devil Gene is canon. Unless specified that she came from Kazumi as well, the cutscenes where she gained them could be considered as part of her headcanon, much like the end cutscene to her story

Heihachi is a Mishima but doesn't have devil powers like his son and grandson Kazuya and Jin. The gene came from Hachijo Clan where Kazumi (Heihachi's wife) came from. Let's not forget Jinpachi but it's a mystery to me where he gets that power.

Even though they say she's his daughter, I still suspect that she may actually be a clone of him. She acts a little too much like Heihachi for it to be just idealization, and Heihachi having another bastard child that is also super strong seems unlikely. Maybe she's like some genetic hodgepodge of Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin.

Reina is not a lore-friendly character. She's Heihachi's daughter, but is around the same age as Jin or Asuka, having graduating from Mishima Polytechnical School. She calls Jin her "senpai" meaning he's older by a minimum of a year. So Heihachi had to have been getting around some time after Jin was born, even though Kazuya and Lars (and Lee who he adopted) are around the same age.
I'm okay with Heihachi having a daughter and even okay with having her just the same age as some of the younger characters. What doesn't sit well with me is that Kazuya got his devil gene from his mother Kazumi Hachijo-Mishima, not his father Heihachi Mishima. The gene is passed down by Kazuya in the direct Mishima bloodline, not Heihachi or his father Jinpachi. It explains why Lars, the half-brother of Kazuya and the son of Heihachi can't access the devil gene that he doesn't carry. Hachijo is the bloodline where the devil gene started, so Reina having that ability when she's canonically the HALF-sister to Kazuya and the daughter of Heihachi (not Kazumi) makes no sense as he doesn't carry the gene.
There are no signs or hints that she was any kind of experimentation in the story of Tekken 8. Maybe it might be retconned in Tekken 9 or some spin-off game, or perhaps elaborated further by a movie or something... But as of now, she's just the daughter of Heihachi. The Mishima Polytechnical branch (the same one that captured Nina Williams) was closed after killing off all the children in failed experiments except for one - Steve Fox, so she couldn't have been experimented on because the division was botched right before her conception, as she is younger than Jin and this took place before Tekken 2. However she was trained as an assassin by the school branch, which Lee seemed to be aware of.
She also has no suspicious activities nor background fallacies when they checked her for the King of Iron Fist's 8th Tournament. So canonically through bloodline, nor through experimentation could she have had the devil gene. So unless she is just confused somehow or her background gets retconned, she is a far-cry from being lore-friendly. At least Kazumi from Tekken 7 had a consistent background to make her lore friendly...

Not really. Heihachi was trying to get rid of it. If he truly wanted the power, he could have extrapolated it from his father, his wife, his son, or even Jin. Heihachi’s whole schtick is being powerful by his own merits. The only time he legit sought magic for himself was the fountain of youth for immortality.

Really does seems to fit the cold storage clone of Heihachi like Steve to Nina but infused with Ogre's blood hence her extreme durability and red eyes awakened after a near death experience.

Several factors to consider:
Reina adores Heihachi which means she knew him on a personal level.
She knows the Mishima-Style which had to have been taught to her by Heihachi.
Heihachi took a liking to Ling Xiaoyu for a reason that could be she reminds him of Reina.
I believe he personally raised her in secret as a foil to Kazuya with future offspring should he fail in defeating him.

When Jinpachi died you guys didn't think that devil gene-ogre like demon just vanished into thin air, right? It searched the earth for months finding a new host and with this hot blooded girl dead from Kazuya's beam. She was the perfect person to possess someone who had the desire to kill unlike Jinpachi

And in devil jin's interlude he and Jinpachi talk about devil when the only people who knows about it is Kazuya that's because he's being possessed by it and when Jin isn't in his devil form he only knows about the devil gene he has no idea who devil is. Heihachi also knows what is that's because he fought it before and had a conversation with it. When someone enters their devil form, they act completely different from themselves and think they're in control when they're not. In Devil Jin's interlude, he says his will has surpassed Devil when he's not in control of his body. And if it was an evil spirit, He wouldn't be saying, "My name is Jinpachi Mishima. My goal is to destroy all of existence!" If it was an evil spirit, it would've stated its name instead of Jinpachi's. In Jin's interlude (the canon timeline), when Jin tells Jinpachi he has the devil's blood , Jinpachi says, "So that's why my blood is screaming to destroy you!"
Harada saying Jinpachi doesn't have the devil gene makes no sense, lol it's the same with the devil gene activating during a near death experience when T3 contradicts this when Jin gets shot in the head and becomes devil jin

After reading that long ass essay where you regurgitated the same point in about 3 ways: no, Jinpachi was never taken over by the Devil Gene. He was possessed by a spirit but it wasn't the Devil Gene.
Also, the idea of a near death experience isn't contradicted at all by Jin's Tekken 3 ending. Think of it like the Hulk explanation with Banner: Banner shoots himself through the mouth but he doesn't die. It just activates the Hulk. Same can be said for Jin being shot by Heihachi. Even if you want to continue using that as an argument, it's still easily negated by Kazuya being thrown off a cliff as a kid. He should have died from that fall but as he (somehow) didn't, the near death experience awakened the Devil Gene.

I believe that in Tekken 9 Reina will start a fight against Kazuya but Kazuya himself might be a changed man because of Jun Kazama. I don't know if Jin will play some role in all of it. It might be Kazuya Jun and Jin against Reina. The Mishimas might become a family after all.

From everything we see so far, the only possible origin for Reina I think is that Heihachi either had a child with a second wife, lab grown her or adopted her, and experimented the devil gene on her, then train her in the Mishima style. After discovering Lars didn't inherit devil powers from him, Kazuya came back from the dead being thrown from a cliff as a child after having devil powers inherited by his late wife Kazumi and discovering that Jin can't be controlled it makes sense he'd make someone unquestionably loyal to him with powers of the Devil. Having his death be the catalyst of her inherited will as both a Mishima and devil it's almost too good not to be true.

Reina is still new to the roster and her backstory is shrouded still. I have reasons to believe, that she is bioweapon with a memory(probably false) about Heihachi being her dad. Her fighting style, spirit, character as well as her uncanny ability to think like her dad could be a genetic programming and data from previous Iron Fist Tournaments in order to study her opponents. Basically she is the kid that Heihachi always wanted. Kinda dumb theory, but seems VERY Tekken to me imo.

The only character that wasn't part of the Kazumi bloodline and got a devil was Jinpachi, so we also have that direction that she acquired the powers later too to consider. At the end Tekken 8 is sick, they've done a great job.

In the game they do mention that the devil gene was given to certian humans by Azazel. Maybe she's relates to another bloodline which was granted the gene; since we know that Kazumi is long dead and Heohachi never possessed the gene itself.
I do think she is a true Mishima and not a clone simply because like Jin sees a overshadow of Heihachi in Reina; Kazuya sees an over shadow of Heihachi in Lars which to me doesn't seem like a coincidence

My theory is that she is Kazuya's daughter and similar to Jin, Heihachi took her in and raised her, so she classes him as a father figure. Makes more sense with her age (being younger than Jin) as opposed to being the daughter of Kazumi or clone theory. Makes her legit of carrying the devil gene (unless she is a descendant of another bloodline that Azazel gave the gene to).

The general feel I got from Heihachi in all of his endings is how he wanted to be youthful/immortal, i can’t remember that one ending, maybe T6/TTT2? But I feel like reina is either a clone of him OR he’s transferred his consciousness into her.
Who knows… either way she’s a great addition and I’m excited to see what they do with her character in future installments… god I hope Jun is actually alive from that ending

@@kingnezuko Reina is one of the 30+ children Heihachi had with different women when he was experimenting with the devil gene (like Lars). It's possible her mother was a part of Hachijo clan like Kazumi or another woman with the devil gene (hachijo clan wasn't the only one), or that he succeeded with isolating the devil gene and Reina's powers are the result.
Jun is alive, Harada confirmed it, basically she defeated the Ogre and was recovering for years, but is back now.
As for Heihachi, he didn't want to get rid of the devil gene, he wanted it for himself, thinking it would grant him even more power and eternal youth.
Reina wants to avenge her father and possibly take over the Mishima Zaibatsu, from what it looks like she was trained by Heihachi after Jin (that's why she calls him senpai) and she knows she has no chance of defeating Kazuya and Jin without awakening her devil gene
I hope more info on Reina comes out either by DLC or Tekken 9. Though I doubt it'll be DLC since I don't think there are any fighting games that used DLC to expand on story so it'll likely be Tekken 9.
We definitely need backstory on Reina since it looks like she dealt with Jin and Kazuya to learn more about the devil form and on how to trigger her own.
Like, since we seen that Jinpachi is definitely not fully Human so would this mean that whatever Jinpachi is, those genes skipped past Kazuya and become inherited by Reina? Since it is possible for genes to skip a generation for bloodlines.
Lastly, I must admit, I love how the shadow of Heihachi haunts some of the people in the game.

I have trouble believing that companies nowadays cannot hire better translator. The sense of the sentence is completely different. Not only did he not use a metaphor as pulling X ass of the fire, which at the same time, metaphor as a way to color someone speech, which is underserved because he didn't. Also in the game subtitle, he says "My ass" (instead of saving us), it's simply not accurate, he said "saved all of us". Sometime things are lost in translation and comedy is near impossible to translate from one language to another, but this was just lazy translation.

I honestly thought she Was going to be Kazuya's child, It'll be interesting to see how her story unfolds.
The only possible reason for this is that Heihachi got laid with Eliza before moving to Kazumi. And Eliza isn't truly a "vampire" but rather one of the original devils during Azazels Prime. Heihachi was probably taking care of her while Eliza was sleeping for god knows how long and since she's that sleepy it wouldn't be suprising the Heihachi got another woman, and when Reina was strong enough, she left heihachi to train on her own or Heihachi left her when he knows she was strong enough

My theory for Reina is that she is an altered female clone of Kazuya like X-23 and Wolverine which is why she sees herself as the daughter of Heihachi but also has the devil-gene
Reina is actually an experiment children lead by Heihachi and Dr. Abel. Also Heihachi has 25 illegitimate son because of his ambition and the chaos never ending because of Heihachi.

Heihachi is a Mishima but doesn't have devil powers like his son and grandson Kazuya and Jin. The gene came from Hachijo Clan where Kazumi (Heihachi's wife) came from. Let's not forget Jinpachi but it's a mystery to me where he gets that power.

Edit: Lars there a high possibility that he is Heihachi's, but one thing is for sure he is one of the illegitimates like Lee.
