+๖ۣۜCOFFEbiscuit๖ۣۜ 1 Sorry for the long wait. I just don't know what to think, since I did apply to Canadian Forces, twice now I think maybe just put that aside till otherwise. CAF now expects to recruit 4,200 out of the 40,000 applications in 2014-15. I hear they flag your application if you apply more than once for to get into CAF.
Andrew Kucbel Actually the Spaghetti with meatballs is good too. However the Mushroom Omelette still had eggshells hidden in it. And the Salmon is just swimming in its own grease.
I love our military , we are one of the best and I love Rick Mercer but damn I am glad he isn't one of our soldiers ok kidding people don't give hate comments.
Canada spent millions on the digital camouflage green uniforms. They come came in handy in the deserts in Afghanistan. The blend into the snow as well. Very proud of our Men and Women in the military. Wish our politicians and Brass supported them the way they deserved. I bet Jamaican military have white show camouflage for their soldiers. Love Rick Mercer
They have a different variety called CADPAT ARID for desert ops and a white camouflage smock for winter ops. The green multicam is just the default design for everyday use and training.
Nothing like a good snowball fight to settle tensions. And for good camaraderie. I try to start a snowball fight once that Parliament Hill for fun. They weren't that fun
How does it work for Francophones in the Canadian Armed Forces? Do they have their own French-speaking divisions? Also, respect to our brothers to the North, from a U.S Navy Corpsman.
@green tea depends. If you work in the airforce there is more emphasis on English since all communication is in English because that's the international language
I know this video is extremely old (thanks algorithm) but the way the second group of cadets cowers when being ambushed with snowballs is upsetting... Get up and fight back! I hope they were instructed to just get pelted and it wasn't their own lack of action that resulted in their decimation.
I actually hate MRE's lol, they are too filling and there's too many ingredients! They are good if you're in the field fighting for your life but if you're just sitting around, they aren't good haha
I went to my recruiter 6 times now not even there when he said he would. I've left many messages on his cellphone even left written messages.... I wanted to join... How you get in if your recruitoer doesn't take his job serious. Or.being 23 with 800 in credit collections is bad? When i was at t barracks there was kids. Like 17-20. Lots of them looked 14. Sigh* makes me frustrated when I've been working hard to change my life for a career in the military and they won't give me a god damn interview....
How long have you been waiting to apply? I aced the aptitude test, had a great interview with my recruiter and still had to wait 2 years before I was accepted. Thing is, the military is in a state of shrinking and reduction right now. Recruitment is on the decline.
Assuming you've passed the aptitude test (which is stupid hard to fail to begin with) and didn't make an ass of yourself during your interview, it could be anywhere between a month and a couple of years before you get called in. Though you can speed the process by furthering your education, taking up volunteer work and keeping busy in the meantime. Also, mind what you post on facebook and the like. They do check. I called in once per week, and still had to wait about 8 months before I was officially enrolled.
War's over. Military budget is being cut year after year. They aren't in need of as many people these days. Good luck getting in, I guess, but expect a wait, especially if you've applied for a trade that isn't in demand.
I love Canadians. I have hardly run into any "bad" Canadians, but on the subject of soldiers I've always for over half my life had a real issue where I would love to "have" a soldier or even worse "have" an Army and can't get around the fact that no matter how charming or alluring you are you can't possess another person to be your friend or go even further than that. It's rough. I've reached the point where I feel rejected the instant I meet another person. I've struggled with this problem way too long and I'm 41 'n a half now and it's miserable. I used to have friends in my 20s. My advice? Never make friends with someone you can't trust. I'm honest. I've just admitted my biggest failing of them all the desire of "total possession" Please give advice OK?
Lie Wei The camo use is CADPAT (not bush), use a lot by the Canadian forces, there is a desert CADPAT too for mission in the desert, They use the regular CADPAT because there is some forest in canada ...

Classy move at the end. Good on you, Rick.
It was classy move. I love Canada.

+thelongslowgoodbye Just saying, I thought US soldiers are technically better
+Dave T How are they "technically better"
+Dave T We're all fighting for the same cause. Both armies are extremely well trained
+Scott Lich Oh ok your right, although maybe there are differences, other than timming

Rick was an Honorary Colonel.
I was under the impression that Operation Blizzard was being armed with shovels and being shipped to Toronto

St. Jean Basic are my best memories, nothing beat the fun we had there!!!
5:00 and here, Mercer organizes a volley of Canadian Artillery.
"I've lost my gun."
I have done that obstacle course. It is in the Farnham training base. It is amazing to be in the Canadian Armed Forces.
What trade are you?
Infantry
Scott Amon I was in the Infantry. I left four months ago to join the RCMP.
Jon Daigle Nice. I am still serving with the medical unit. How is the RCMP compare to the army?
Scott Amon I'm still in the application process. I take the entrance exam in a week.

@@seanb6986 I see. So I'm guessing the Air Force launches geese? They must be, considering the geese have excellent machine gun fire.
Oh Rick was in my town! Weeee :D Should pay a visit to the recruits at the Saint-Jean Garrison if you haven't already ;)
How did mercer get a name tag that fast?!?
Yeah what's those name tags called?

It's actually true, compare to what they eat at West Point, it's prime ribs.

That smoke meat was my first taste of Montreal ..Loved it
So I wonder when they will get around to telling the cadets how to hold a C7 properly?
as soon as they get to more advanced firearms training
Well I guess till then it's jam city... and maybe a few ND's

There is a French regiment in Quebec I'm pretty sure
This is RMC in Quebec. I'm pretty sure as a student in RMC you are taught both English and French.
Thank you
If I remember correctly if u try to become an officer u must learn to speak French
@green tea depends. If you work in the airforce there is more emphasis on English since all communication is in English because that's the international language
I just realized, they're not in St. Jean in this they're in Farnham, I did the same course during my Farnham field training in BMQ
“ why rubber weapons “
NCM/ NCO answer “ because their fucking officer cadets and we really don’t wanna give them real weapons .. “
"I haven't heard anything past "I get a weapon." LOL
This makes BMQ look fun as fuck I can't wait
Glad to see the 82 pattern gear still in use... #sarcasm
Lived there for 4 years as a brat 1966-1970.
I had a padre bring Tim's into the field for us once, that was nice. Not as nice as a warm sandwich, but much appreciated anyway.
you're amazing Rick!
when he pulled out the Schwartz I was like. Oh...my...god...awesome
Hopefully I’ll be in officer training in a few years making my way.
So did you make it in?

Winter training in summer fatigues.... easy target!
looks like another day in middle school to me, at least in Canada.
0:41, a captain? What degree did he get at RMC to become a captain? Curious.
Capt Blakie, best Squadron Commander ever!
very well done
I want some of that Schwarzes. The fam went to Montreal last year, but we couldn't get the Schwarzes trip into the schedule. Le sad.
It would have been cool to do all that this year, but it was mostly cancelled
You guys should get the light Trojan ballistic body armor, at 10,000 units it's only 2,000 a unit.
But that's for body type shape there's 12 skeletal structures for body so take that into consideration when you're putting in 10,000 unit orders
im in cadets and I love the rations
Love the merger report.
Where is this guy today this video was pretty cool
Classic, Mercer! Go cadets!
Lesson 1 in blizzard nordique, remain as visible as possible
I just noticed... I hope they have some winter gear because holy shit they aren't camouflaged for shit.
Of course we do!We're Canadian.
Those are just cadets training, the proper winter camo is reserved for high-level exercises and real-world stuff only.
Conor Corrigan Okay, that makes sense.
Perfect job for politocians

I wish I was smart enough to go there

wait...
the RMC is in kingston isn't it? the CFLRS is in saint jean

Why tf does Rick get a name tape so quickly?
Mercer is a fairly common name on the Coast...so I'm sure they were able to find one with little difficulty.
Probably because he's on tape man, the camera.
