- A review of Angelina Jordan's "leaked" demo of the Baby Fuzz song "I'm Still Holding Out For You." Her version of the song actually came out before his official version did. I also briefly look at a mashup I made of Baby Fuzz and Angelina Jordan singing this song. A short a cappella snippet of the song is heard as well. For educational purposes only. I just noticed that the original has comments turned off. Too bad; that’s another thing keeping it from getting more views. Perhaps the channel owner can be persuaded to turn them on.
I am surprised that turning off the comments would lower the number of views. The comments should be written after starting the viewing.
@@djs2006 the RUclips algorithm looks at number of comments as part of its decision about whether to “recommend” a video. So fewer people are pointed towards this video because of the lack of comments..

The little girl climbing the hill in the end of the song is Angelina 10 years old. And that is how young she was singing this song! I can't really understand how it can be any better than this at ten. I like this song a lot! I don't even know the word for describing her talent.

I think there is a extra dose of Angelina magic in this vocal masterpiece. Thanks to Brandon Lowry (aka Baby Fuzz) and a couple others for writing such a great song. Chris you did a great job on this video. We can only hope Angelina would sing it again in the future.
Andy I'm gonna get technical on you... What you meant to say was thanks to Brandon Lowry (AKA Sterling Fox) and a couple others for writing such a great song. !!!!! That is his pen name, and Baby FuzZ is only his performance name on stage when singing. I think he said he made that name up just for that album that the song is on. Which brings us to another point : why was he trying to farm out "I'm still holding out for you" if he was putting together an album over a couple of years..? I'm pretty sure he didn't just say Hey I want to do this song so I'll write an album around it.... Why would it give away what probably is the best song on his album? Or was he just looking for demos for a certain type of approach.... Again, short of torturing someone, we will never know.
Crazy how she is able to transfer deep emotional feelings with music and her versatile vocals. Babyfuzz only scratch the surface of the meaning of the song. I don't believe him, but Angelina sends always tons of unconditional love 💖💞🥰

Yes... Baby FuzZ as his performing stage name... not a good performer...
But as Sterling Fox, a talented wordsmith ( birth name, Branded Lowrey).... WE STILL DO NOT KNOW if he is at all a talented MELODY MAKER, or if that was accomplished by the production team... or OTHER... AND, I STILL NOTE THAT ANGELINA'S version is NO DEMO TRACK, BUT IS a finished product... period, Right down to "vinyl crackle" at the end ... You do not do that on a demo recording. Just Saying.
The only singers I can hear being represented with regard to style in this
so very unique performance is Billie Holiday's emotion and Amy Winehouse's
way of presenting vocals that had her known as the most uniquely different
jazz singer of all time. To accomplish this 'vocal chameleon' style of bringing
these two iconic jazz greats into a song at any age is beyond belief. To do it
at 10 is insane. I believe it is the one song I most like by Angelina and that is
saying something, for sure. Hope she revisits it in a future album.
This is my all time favorite with Angelina. Not much more to say. She has a unique voice at an early age, and we are fortunate to experience her vocal development thru social media.
Her parents stopped her from singing Gloomy Sunday . They had her rewrite the words to Back to Black.
Hi Chris. Whenever reviewers talk about Angelina, they continue to marvel at her talent level, the caveat always being about her age. I can't exactly remember when I stopped looking at Angelina in that way, but it was A LONG TIME AGO. Michael Jackson was an iconic singer and he sounded much more like a child, for longer, than Angelina did. Where folks comparing his talent level for his age like Angelina? Maybe. Angelina Jordan is the best singer to come out in a generation. Now, if we could just get outstanding writers like Baby FuzZ to write some of Angelina's material moving forward, she will go down as one of the greatest of all time. Cheers!
After many many listens I have gained a real respect for the music and arrangement which these producers (who were the co-writers with Baby Fuzz) brought to the work. It is so nicely understated but effective in her performance. And yes, she was 10 and teetering on the cusp of 11 if that ever even matters a whit in this prodigy world!
A very accomplished vocal coach by the name of Ceci said something along the lines of, "There are no words or terms for what she just did." After picking her jaw up from the floor.

Could you comment on this: This is an Original! Experts agree, that “I’m Still Holding Out For You” is an Angelina Original! An original, is any song which was not recorded by any artist before, it may be composed by the person singing it, or by someone else.
Baby FuzZ and a three others wrote this song. Thus, he did the “Cover” that Angelina had already recorded in 2016, at 10, and published prior. Demo or not! Sorry, his offical video, published 12/9/18, (two years later) was met with very little fanfare. He has since, given her Copyright and his blessing to make a proper recording of the song.

The answer depends on whether it is true that a different, supposedly really terrible, version was in fact released by Baby Fuzz before Angelina released hers. I think at least two commenters say they have seen this video but I have searched using a variety of techniques and haven’t been able to come up with anything. But even if this did/does exist, almost no one knows about it, so I count this as one of her eight originals. Five written by her, and song for a, above the water, and this one. Of course at least several of her covers transform the song so much that it’s almost as if they are written by her. I look at those as being kind of like “adapted screenplays,” where people write screenplays based on books and get writing credit for it, even win Oscars. “Wicked Game,” the “adapted masterpiece,” adapted by Angelina Jordan from material for another medium!

It would be great (amazing) if they gave in, and put this fantastic song into her Debut album for the whole world to hear. Angelina deserves for the whole world to hear her magnificent voice singing this song. She is no longer a child, she is a young woman singing a masterpiece. Her mom, Sara should give in, (assuming she is the holdup) This song is TOP Shelf, not back shelf.
I agree with all of your comments other than the penultimate sentence. To my knowledge, no member of Angelina's family have ever commented on this performance. If you know otherwise, please post a source so that Angelina's fans can check for themselves. Otherwise, I would ask that you edit your comment or and remove the sentence . In my opinion, In its present form, it casts a slur on every member of Angelina's family.

Thanks Chris. This is truly the one. Weight for age it is her best, and may well remain that. I hope one day we learn about the circumstances. Clearly she had the very very best around her when she did this. The production is so good it nearly challenges her performance. I try to listen to this one at least once each day.
Absurd, indeed! Loved how you separated her voice for that part. The intentional voice breaks are just perfect, and that final run soooo complicated, yet Angelina makes it seem like a breeze…

Nice reaction, Chris. I think my favorite Angelina performance is usually the last one I listened to. 😀 But this one is always near the top. One of my favorite reactions to it is Ceci Dover's. At one point she mentions that Angelina's voice loses a little presence on a very low note. Then later, Angelina hits the same note with a very full voice and the look on Ceci's face is just priceless!
I never thought the day would come when I felt the need to post a criticism or a comment in one of your videos, but feel the need to do so in this one. I am sure you know very well that no member of Angelina's family has ever commented upon this song. Every comment upon why the song was never released is just someone's opinion with no facts to support it. In that respect, I feel they are a slur on Angelina and her family. I have requested those commenting about this matter to post a source for their opinion, but no one has ever done so. It reminds me of the lyrics in Michael Jackson's song Billy Jean - "And be careful of what you do, 'cause the lie becomes the truth".
Albert, I’m not sure we are in any disagreement here. I said in the video that we don’t know what happened. I agree that people making claims such as that Angelina’s mom was against the video being published because of lyrics about suicide need to show their sources. There have been similar disagreements about things like what her age was for the earliest studio recordings, or what instruments she actually plays. I am now careful to say that things are alleged to be a certain way, but we don’t really know a lot of the time. As you say, a lie becomes the truth, as people just repeat what they have heard others say.
@@BigAngieFan808 Albert is right, no family member has ever commented on why this song was not released, so speculation runs rampant. Most favor the suicide theory, but there are others now and then. The strange part of all this is why her management team never came forth with the real reason after all these years. Angelina is now a extremely mature 16 yer old young lady, so the suicide theory for still keeping this song in limbo is now extinct. They need to put this to rest once and for all, somehow. and move on.

This is her best IMO and I don't think there was any family not wanting it out I think there were probably some legal reasons it wasn't released...There are a lot of questions like this out there. It would be nice if she would start doing interviews were maybe she could be asked some of these and we get the real story from her.
My understanding is that Angelina did the Demo for Baby Fuzz so it's obvious he heard it. That when Angelina's version was leaked he decided to release his version. Either way neither Baby Fuzz or Angelina's team asked for her leaked version to be removed from YT. Many think that Angelina or now Republic should buy the rights to the song and release a current version.
Hard to believe that baby fuzz never heard ANGELINAS leaked performance before he released his version a month after. ANGELINAS Version was sat on for 2/3 years before being leaked hope it's left in the past , look to the future, don't touch it.
Very nice Chris. 👍 If this is never recorded by Angelina again, this demo is surtenly one, among a few other recordings, that could (or even should) be played; - maybe on a big screen, as warm-up on her conserts. (Or even as she take a short break in her future 2 hours conserts😉.) Who can imagine what lays ahead of us from this amazing musical treasure. I for sure can not, how hard I ever try. This is her best song. I'm guilty of propagating the suicide idea, but I now think that the family and Angelina felt that this was too good of a song, and if it were officially released it might force her into the public eye too soon.
I'm not sure the so-called suicide reference would stand up in a court of law ... it could just as believably refer to some kind of baptism ... and as pointed out, she has sung much more disturbing lyrics since ... for example 'Love on the Brain' which details brutal misogyny. The real mystery is that the original Baby Fuzz lyrics earlier in the song were anyway changed by Angelina to be more age-appropriate, so there's no reason why the 'put my head under water' words could not have been changed at the same time, unless the family were not present at the recording, which I don't believe. I would hope she re-records this with her fully developed 16 year-old voice for the album, along with the recently previewed power version of 'At Last' and slinky smooth cocktail hour 'Funny Valentine'. I'm not sure how it would be done, but I'd love someone to redo the accompanying video using only photos and videos of Angelina at age 10, the age she was when she performed this. I feel it would make it more authentic. Some clips are her singing Shield, when I think she is 13. I so like how the fan video has the subtitles fading in and out.

No YOU are wrong. This fan-made video came out 3 years ago but that's irrelevant. It was recorded late 2016 or early 2017.
Of course, lip-syncing is generally disparaged, but the occasion to which you referred may be "Pete" Seeger's video, "God's Counting on Me, God's Counting on You," filmed aboard the sloop Clearwater that sailed up and down the Hudson River from New York City. I'm not certain that this video was lip-synced, but it certainly is plausible given the circumstances. The Clearwater excursions reflected Seeger's immense interest in environmental causes. By all means, let's hope that Angelina does a redo "ISHOFY," though not as a lip-sync.

@@kristena9285 Interesting point, but I assume the line or distinctions are not that clear cut, especially between filmed and "live" performances, if the latter is clearly lip-synced. Also, I understand that simultaneous filming and voice can be repeated for purpose of editing rather than the video first filmed and dubbed. I am familiar with Seeger's vid but not the production.
@@barker3903 I was talking about the directed "story" films. Like Angelinas "When You'r Smiling", "Fly me to the Moon" (with the horse), "Shield" (along the train lines) and "Million Miles" the music video. All lip sync..
Her black&white "I put a Spell on You" are multiple videos put together, but she's not lip syncing in any of them (even if only one of the sound tracks was ultimately used).
Its insane how this song is effecting me. Hard to explain, but its on my top 1 list by Angelina.
