I was hoping to see the scene where Mother Jefferson threw shade at Louise's age. It was an episode where there was a storm and George was caught outside. Never could find out what episode that is.
There were episodes where Mother Jefferson supported Louise. She physically attacked George’s sleazy friend who was molesting Louise. That provides important balance to this hilarity - otherwise the character would just appear malicious. This is something modern sitcoms overlook. So everyone looks mean and sounds plain nasty - instead of funny.
