i got my darwins grip like a month afteri ordered it but it was worth the wait i love it took me like 2 weeks to get used to it but now i wouldnt go with out it..
Sorry for the delay Romario! All orders are being processed and will be shipped on the week of the 15th. If you have any more questions I can handle them directly by text.
I got one the other day. First day worked 12 hrs. It was different but I could tell a huge difference first day. I let mine float and really like that. Just have to get use to how to control the head. I highly recommend it
Love mine also run it at a angle said it before best $35 I've spent ever being 6'8" I can cut several before even start to feel it and without it I'm feeling pain after 1
I ordered a pair after seeing your first video and I absolutely love them! I’m 6’7” so trimming/edging always hurt my back. Now I can take my time and do a much nicer job. Thanks for the honest review of it Andy!
Just ordered one and I’m hoping it helps my back. I’m like you where I’d rather deal with arm fatigue rather than back pain. Thanks for sharing your videos
Thanks for the info. I’m gonna give the angle a try, to be honest once I put it on I just got lazy and haven’t adjusted it. Love the concept and the price point is right for a product that solves the problem!
The existing trimmer handle has three different positions. Someone created a great solution for a problem that potentially doesn't exist. Try a handle adjustment before investing in what may not be needed
Broooo, you're awesome! First of all, Darwin Grip should receive a "nobel back pain relief prize" and you should be honorable mention, like for real! I'm 6'5", with extremely long arms, and your recommended placement of this product is PERFECTTTTTTT.....for me!........Thank you so much for this content, keep doing what you're doing and I wish you the best!
You need to spin the stock handle 180 degrees. It makes it great for edging. The way you have yours now the stock handle is useless and just extra weight.
I order the Darwin’s grip because of back pain and because I’m diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis which is a. Nueromuscluar disease that cause extreme weakness. I think having a strap across my shoulders while holding the Darwin’s grip will help maintain some muscle strength and alleviate fatigue and pain. I’m expecting it to be delivered by the end of the day and I cannot wait to try it out.
i'm bought this darwins grip because i'm simply to tall for these string trimmers and they would make my back sore and I literally had no way around saving my back with stock handles. I notice myself when i run the grip, I have it completely strait but without thinking i'll end up finding myself holding the corner of the handle where the handle meets the shaft so i have half my hand on the handle and half my hand on the shaft that goes down towards the trimmer. I am kind of thinking of canting it to the left side like you do and see how it treats me. Maybe it's just the way our hands are or something but I find it the weirdest thing that I always end up grabbing the corner part of the handle lol.
Not bad & nice design & materials .Would be good when using hedging or saw attach for overhead work anything else i'd stick with bull handle & full harness if nothing else for speed, comfort & most importantly control .Regarding shoulder pain i would advise using an across shoulder harness with a really thick soft pad as the strap can dig in on the top of the shoulder, tho that depends on how heavy the weedeater is ,however it still better than carying the dam things
I just ordered one sadly I’m not gonna get it till May 15 but I’ve been mowing lawns since I was 12 and I’m 15 now and I’m 6 foot one so needless to say my back has definitely had a toll taking on it even at my young age just because of how I have to bend over so I’m really hoping this can help my productivity thankfully though I have things like my zero turn and all those other things so I don’t have too much fatigue although I am very blessed because at 15 it wouldn’t hurt me if I had to push mow everything but I’m very thankful that I don’t have to but great video God bless
I bought the darwins grip, it does the job. But i feel like theres alot of room for improvement. To name a couple.. - Handles i think are too thick and add to forearm fatigue. - currently made from metal.. and not aluminium like they should be. Causing it to be uncomfortably heavy. Depending on where you have it mounted, it may prevent it from going on your equipment defender/green touch racks. As for customer service. There is NONE! He doesn’t respond to emails period. Its a great concept. But i cant imagine him lasting long if any competitors enter the market.
Looks neat...but how does it sit on the trimmer rack on your trailer? Does it get in the way? Does it become a tangled mess? Thanks for your input andy!!
On my rack they work fine and I guess it would also depend on the angle you need the grip? It’s possible that I could get in the way I guess but on my set up it works fine...
@@CutandCleanTV I run the equipment defender racks thanks to your review on them. I plan on putting an order in for the Darwin grip. Just wasnt sure how it would all work out together. Thanks for clearing it all up for us. Thanks again bud
Hi Andy, I received a email from the owner stating they were working on "Darwin's Grip 2.0" which would mount on the other side of how you mounted yours - But that was many months ago and I still have not seen it on their website - Do you have any info? Be safe - and keep them videos coming - Thx
Hey Larry, The 2.0 will completely replace the original DG. It has a powder coat instead of paint and it uses a rubber grip that will outlast the wrap by 10 years. If you have any more questions you can text me. Thanks brother!
Darwin's Grip thanks for the update - will the 2.0 be able to mount on the the other side? Do you have a eta when it will be available to purchase? Thank you
I'm right handed except when it comes to weed eating, which is practically the only reason I even need to have a left hand...I have to hold the handle with my right hand to move the weed eater back and forth...I'm thinking about getting a Darwin's grip but I also edge with the weed eater, so I feel the grip might get in the way of that
I can see that, I use an Edger now instead or string edging for the most part, I was still able to edge with it on there with the trimmer but yea it’s awkward
I mean, it's just a bicycle stem with a pipe attached. I would rather have one with the grip going vertical like a joystick like on our Honda with the bicycle type handles and controls.
All I can say is it took a little bit to get used to, but I’m at the point now where I would never go back! I’d pay $150 for it… but there are some people that don’t like them at all… so it’s all personal preference at the end of the day
Hang tight brother. We are sending all orders the week of 15th of October. We made a few upgrades which includes powder coat instead of paint and a rubber grip that will outlast the wraps by 10 years. You can text me if you have any more questions.
It does actually make a difference. As it’s currently sold, it’s suited more for right handed people and slightly inconvenient for left handers (im left handed). For a product thats selling point is ‘comfort’.. you shouldnt be saying that to customers. Luckily, the grip handle is symmetrically shaped. So you can rip the grip tape off the handle and flip it over so the its now setup for left handers. But it requires a bit of extra work to do..
i got my darwins grip like a month afteri ordered it but it was worth the wait i love it took me like 2 weeks to get used to it but now i wouldnt go with out it..

I ordered mine like 3 weeks ago still no info on it... I hope it will show up soon.

I've been using a custom handle for 25 years, i just figured everyone liked being bent over. At 40 bucks I could be rich by now
I’ve been trimming with one hand for 20 years
5 years after and Amazon is now selling it for $70. lol

You use an edger for edging

I just grab the shaft. I get more control that way, especially when edging Bermuda. 👌

Good feedback man! Best way to build a better product is Comments like this!
Aluminium is a metal lol. Is it made outta steel
How dose it work flipping it over to edge side walks? and running it with out a guard at the trimmer head?
That's my exact question
I'd like to try one out but sounds like the season might be half way over by the time I get it. 1 - 2 months turn around time. Tighten up.
Just got mine today it took a few weeks to come but I’m hoping it was worth the wait.

If you look through my Instagram I think I got pics of them on my racks...
You are husky, like me. Which harness works best for you. I am strong man big, so I have not found a harness to fit my chest.
Mine comes in today, Hopefully it helps!

I don’t know too much about the 2.0 all I know is what I e been using?

Came you flip trim with this?
Where can I buy a Darwins grip.
My handle mist be to big it won't stay flush and has a gap. Now it's tight but, I feel they should be flush and snug
Darwin’s Pro is now out. Install video states to put it at 10:00 position.
How would I convert it for left handed use?
Hi Andy. How do you like your 111 trimmer??
I used mine for like 2 weeks. Took it off. Got awkward to flip to edge.
I can see that, I use an Edger now instead or string edging for the most part, I was still able to edge with it on there with the trimmer but yea it’s awkward
i kinda like to have a DR tow behind weed wacker that gets towed behind a mower wich can be mowing and trimming same time
Just put a edger handle on your weed eater
That is exactly what I was picturing.
Using the new unused muscles in the arm and shoulders need time to strengthen up.
Where can you I get this product and does it work with all trimmers I use echo
Could the Darwin's Grip also be used on a stick edger?
Yea I use a grip on my FC91
Does it make the edger easier to control?
Way easier I noticed with the Edger I would have to bend over a lot more using it so the Darwin’s Grip is great for the edger’
@@CutandCleanTV I think I might get one for my edger, do you think it would work on an attachment capable system?
I was told it does
Can it be installed for a left handed person?
Will it work on a combi trimmer ?
I mean, it's just a bicycle stem with a pipe attached. I would rather have one with the grip going vertical like a joystick like on our Honda with the bicycle type handles and controls.
I’d like to have one I just dont see 70 bucks in it

Just posted a new video a few days ago on the new Darwin’s grip pro, I talk about how I edge with it
That makes sense. Thanks.
The only problem is i need one for my right hand 🤦🏾♂️
Well done
Nice review sir!
Nice! Looks like a great tool!
Everytime I go to order one there out of stock gess when they pick up there stock I'll get one..
He told me Monday October 15 he will have his materials back in stock
Why wouldn't you just use a edger handle off a echo ?
Just ordered
Still waiting for mine.

Really an awesome product!
Dude thanks for the review! Would you happen to have a promo code? I’d like to order me couple of these.
Thanks again.
Mark
Just seen the code in the description.
Lol typical you...
Hold on to the this...LOL
Does this go on husqvarna
Garbage cans go on Husqvarna bro get a Echo.
Pay the man
Would be lighter if you take off the original grip. Not much but every little bit counts
I still use the Orginal Grip when I Edge with the trimmer sometimes but I hear ua
Can it be mounted for left handed
Yes. We've tested both versions and what we've found out is that it makes almost little to no difference.
It does actually make a difference. As it’s currently sold, it’s suited more for right handed people and slightly inconvenient for left handers (im left handed). For a product thats selling point is ‘comfort’.. you shouldnt be saying that to customers.

Th u both for insites
.im ordering tk u
You're getting arm and shoulder pain because both of your arms should be straight when it's properly used
Wish I had 10-12"...
Am I the only guy that can trim with one hand? Saves my back too
No thanks!
I don't trust anybody with a guard on their weedeater
hahahaha thats lame, i weedeat one handed half the time....
Way overrated and way overpriced there are so many other options out there I have been using the back saver for years less than 20 bucks
When you are making the money we are 70 bucks nothing to sweat
Stihl has this device, and more easily adjustable, plus you dont have to look like an anti-creationist fool
Most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in 18 yrs in turf
