- Anna Lapwood, performing the UK School's Premiere of the Suite Lyrique by John Rutter. This was performed in the Sheldonian theatre, Oxford, accompanied by the Oxford High School String Orchestra, and conducted by Roger Spikes.
The piece is an arrangement for harp of Rutter's earlier Suite Antique, written for flute.

Thank you John Rutter. Very sweet and enchanting. Thank you so much for the lovely interpretation, Anna Lapwood.
A very talented young lady .
I've never listened to a harp concerto before, but I've listened to a lot of Anna Lapwood. Amazing; 17 years old then? Privileged to be alive when she is playing; like Van Cliburn. Mesmerizing, magic, brilliant.
Heard this on the radio. Fell in love with it immediately. Thank you John Rutter.
This piece was originally written for flute under the title Suite Antique. I was premiered in 1978 on a concert that included a Bach Brandenburg Concerto. Still my favorite piece John Rutter wrote for flute. It' since on harp, but being a flutist, I am partial to the original flute version.
Great info! I actually just subscribed to both the harpist in this vid as well as you.
You can buy the music online from Oxford University Press - if you google 'Rutter Suite Lyrique OUP' then it should come up - enjoy!
That takes some dedication ... not sure if I'm more in love with this or the Bonobo collaboration!
Another beautiful gift from John Rutter and played so beautifully!
I never knew she plays the harp too❤❤❤❤
Just had this video recommended on RUclips. It’s amazing.
Wundervolle Musik und eine ganz wunderbare Interpretation !! Großes Kompliment !

Enchanting!
Thks John for this beautiful music & to Anna for her stunning performance at a young age. Did she already know where she was going with her music at the time?
So good 😊
Signature "Lapwood smile" at 2:20 🙂♥️
I keep going back to 2:20!!!!! 😂
Just wow!
Excellent.😉😉😉
OMG So cute.
Minunată!
Wait. She played harp too??? Damn.
You're very good and Rutter is really brilliant. My choir sang Candlelight Carol during one of our last performances using a new arrangement. Write this in the search: you will surely like it.
Corale Novarmonia - Candlelight Carol (J. Rutter)
Did not realize you also played harp. My wife used to play harp and organ. Do you also play the flute?
That's some lovely sound. I have to wonder... with her organ experience, would she be able to play the harp with her feet? ;)
Lapwood the human jukebox
Did the young lady at the harp have any idea that in a few short years she'd be an internet sensation, MBE, or any of the other fantastic things you've managed to acheive?
OMG Radetzky March is coming! ohhh nooooooot again!
l love listening to this, also wonder does she always blush like this after playing?
Franklyn.....everyone blushes to some extent.!!!!even you.! Buddy !!!!!!
How many instruments she play?
Wikipedia says piano, violin, viola, harp, and organ, along with being a vocalist, conductor, composer, and tv/radio broadcaster. A ton of talent!
@@coasterb1 I can't even make a sandwich properly.
Dear Miss Lapwood, may I get CD's from the Music you are playing?
Very nice piece. Where can I get the notes of the harp part?
Dream on !!!!!leave the playing to true professionals.!!!!just enjoy their music .OK .!😉😉😉
This deserved better accompanying orchestra.
Very, very well played. Her looks have nothing to do with her talent. Good harp, too.
She can take me to dinner and drinks.
She wouldn't be as appreciated playing the bassoon, just sayin'
She plays the harp, too? Say, when you're done mastering the keyboard instruments, can you make your way to the double reeds? We can sure use some help at oboe.
Breathtaking performance! And if you are a girl, consider learning to play the piano or harp. It automatically bumps you up 2 points on the 1-10 scale of beauty.
