    Sandy Collins (Michael Monroe, born Jonathan Brink) passed away in 2010. He never married and enjoyed taking many trips to Egypt. Rayford Barnes, who played George Willis died in 2000. Eddie Foy III who played Jack Willis is 81 years of age and the son of Vaudeville performer Eddie Foy Jr. who was the son of actor Eddie Foy Sr. born Edwin Fitzgerald. Ed Nash, who was played by Edmund Cobb Jr., was the grandson of Edmund Ross, the Governor of the territory of New Mexico and the Senator of Kansas. He died in 1974 at the age of 82.

      Many who were on this show didn't go on to bigger things but others did. Rayford Barnes, the thug with the hat had a 40+ year career mostly on TV which I didn't know until quite recently as I missed a lot of his parts thru the years.

      Mark Muffs It was a great show. I wasn't born at the time it ran but, I am appreciating watching all of the old episodes. :)

    • @hoss73ford
      @hoss73ford 8 лет назад +3

      I was born in 1954 so I saw my first episode around 1959 or 1960. After they discontinued making new episodes, they ran them on one of our independent stations for about 12 years. Even as a kid, I was not a great deal into kid things & preferred shows such as this, westerns, Andy Griffith, etc.

    • @waynejohnson1304
      @waynejohnson1304 8 лет назад +9

      Mark Muffs Unfortunately, we were never shown the reruns of this show here in Connecticut in the 1960s or the 1970s. I never knew it existed until I ran into it, by accident, while on RUclips.

    • @hoss73ford
      @hoss73ford 8 лет назад +5

      That really sucks but that was likely common in some areas. After they quit running the reruns in the early 1970s, I never saw any until 1986 when Broderick Crawford passed away and a TV station aired the first two or three episodes. Those were all I had for a while until home taped VHS recordings started popping up from collectors in the late 80s, early 90s. I finally bought the complete dvd set a couple years ago and love them to no end. In my house, me and the girlfriend are lost in the 50s to the 70s and we like it that way.

    Watching Mr. Mathews & the Patrolman "corner" the bad guy at the end was a riot ! If the Patrolman was gonna "draw his fire" while Mathews snuck up on him at the front of the car -- from all of about 3 feet ! -- they were both lucky they didn't get nailed ! Another arrest by the legendary HIGHWAY PATROL ... wow ! But looking back, this was one of the most watched shows of the late '50s, and deservedly so !

    $200 a month (this was filmed in late 1956) was no small chunk of change. Of course it wasn't riches either but it was worth $2020 in 2022 dollars. Robbing from poor or struggling people like this was really low.
    Actor Rayford Barnes (the shooter) was in two other episodes both as no goods. "License Plates" in season 1 and "Credit Card" in season 3. Good dialogue as always such as "you furnish the victims, they had the guns".

    Well, in SETTINGS it sez for this episode 480p. However, upon closer inspection, this resolution here barely hits 100 lines, so 100p oi under. This is definitively worse than anything you would get from Standard 8 mm film, and a lot worse than VHS quality. This is a crying shame if you have ever seen pristine telecine or scan transfer of the show from the 35mm negatives and broadcast positive prints Skipping this one for sure..
