We always used the older riding mowers as workhorses once the deck was worn out. They made good snow plows and wagon pullers

the reason for the oil burning is more than likely due to a blown head gasket. Replace that, and adjust the valves and it will be good to go.

Man we need to challenge each other to a mower competition or something lol. Lawn mower modding is slowly fading

Yeah true , I haven't ridden mine in over a year.
Last summer I yanked the carb and cleaned it ,as it was sitting for over a year.
Yeah I had fuel drained, but wasn't chancing it running like crap.
So, I cleaned it , threw fresh stabilized fuel in it and fired it up.
Took a lap around the shop meaning to do more ,and there it sits again.
Haha watch I'll pull the carb again to be safe when I wanna use it 🤣
I'm not getting rid of it, it's just hard to find the time for it right now.

Awesome video, I would definitely check the head gasket and oil level. Probably leaking oil into the cylinder. Not too hard of a job to do.

Use some lock washers on your blower housing bolts that will help them them grip the blower housing and take up the extra space

Use some Emery cloth to clean up the crankshaft where the main seal rides

that cover over the pulley needs to be put back on, without it you will blow up your trans

Pulley swapping and a throttle pedal will take most 5 speed mowers to 25mph. Governor adjustments will get you to 30. You can go faster, but then you're pushing the limits of the trans and opening up the engine in order to mod it to go above 4k rpms.

Please don’t jack your mower up on the transmission you can dented it or put a hole in it. It’s an aluminum transmission don’t do that.

I have some C2 mowers and several 633a trannys. Not sure what im going to do yet. For the first one I might just do a kart setup and avoid using a tranny all together. I was wanting to make a UTV im wondering if I fill up a 633a with oil if it might be good for that. I have no idea. I have the larger style C2 tractors. One I already have stripped down.
