I must get this!! Alpha 2 was one of my main games back during snes days
alpha 2 is considered a more "true" street fighter, its a lot more in vain of SF2.. alpha 3 is a bit more experimental, everything "street fighter"-ish was thrown out the window for A3. There's a huge divide on which alpha game they prefer but generally Japan loves alpha 3 and USA prefers Alpha 2.
Street Fighter Alpha 2 is definately my favorite of the Alpha series. I didn't even know there was an SNES version. I have it on the Sega Saturn and it was much better than the PS1 version.
I think Capcom will listen and make Alpha 2 online

From what I read this and second impact play a bit different from the third ones. Sean from second impact plays way different than third strike Sean. I wouldn't mind alpha 2 and second impact getting online personally.

You can play as Evil Ryu in this game by going to Ryu at the character selection screen then press START (the arcade one, not the menu one), then move the cursor to Adon, Akuma, Adon, and back to Ryu then hold START and press any button.
That was a heartbreaking countdown, lol. I love Alpha 2. The backgrounds are so detailed and awesome. I love that they have things like Dhalsim's stage, the lady looks away when he's hit but claps when he's winning. Such a great game! I've been loving these videos!

My first experience with Alpha 2 was on the SNES. Horrible port.
Then it was on the PS2’s Alpha Anthology which was way better.

Doubt it. Unless they charge for it, which I doubt, why would they? This is Capcom, they do things like day one DLC and stuff. If it doesn't make them money they wont bother adding any more stuff to this game.
I know it had loading before matches which was annoying, but I don't think the SNES port was bad. It used one of the custom chips some SNES games used to expand what the base console was capable of, and for the system it was on it was well done IMO.
+MrLeo34 The SNES version of Alpha used the S-DD1 chip in the cart, its a decompressor chip. The load times on the SNES version were the result of data being decompressed. Another Japan only game called Star Ocean also used the S-DD1.
Alpha 2 has always been my favourite iteration of Street Fighter, it was AWESOME on the Saturn
Just hearing Yuko Miyamura's voice as Chun Li and Rose makes me want to watch Evangelion again...☺
I remember the sound on the arcade cabinet was SO LOUD!! Ending the round with fierce tiger uppercuts could destroy your eardrums!!! 🤣
Capcom: Please get Alpha 2 (and SF3 2nd Impact) online. There is a fanbase for it!

ALPHA 2 first fighting game so much hours playing it, a lot of childhood memories
alpha 2 is really good, it took me alot of tries to beat ryu with sakura , but after i beat him it was so satisfying cuz he was so challenging,

Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the Saturn was my first SF. I mained Rose because right away, I knew fireballs were going to be the bane of my existence.
i remember playing the gold version i believe, with my cousin there was a secret menu where you could make every hadouken a super move so it was pretty fun lol
The sprites, stages and background just makes it 100x better than sfv
Played this when it originally came out on the sega saturn which was the best port in my opinion specially with the saturn controller.
alpha 2 gold is the best street fighter game. i wish this got the online play instead of a3.

Alpha 3 felt smoother but Alpha 2 is more memorable to me.
might be because of the default turbo speed setting on A3, normal speed (which is not tournament standard) feels just "unsmoother-ish" like A2
I hope they deliver for the fans for all this series, did you just go through the story mode in this video? Does this series have a story?
Are you in the UK or Japan? I wish they added the JP version of Super Turbo in this collection. The A.I in the US ST is too hard.

SHIN BAKI HANMA Ultra Street Fighter 2 on Switch is my favourite iteration for that reason, Akuma is easily selectable, Evil Ryu and Violent Ken are there, the difficultly is not relentless and you can select the original colour with Super Combo I.e Ryu with red headband + white gi and Super meter.

inputs in alpha 3 feel odd its just not registering it feels.
well i been a alpha/zero 3 player since owning it on the saturn and dreamcast and never known the game to feel like this, but you may be right it sounds logical.
If you got this game, do I need the Street Fighter II Ultra released earlier? I don't understand. Was Street Fighter II Ultra a re-make?
Ultra Street Fighter 2 has many features not present in the original versions of SF2. Updated graphics, updated music, violent ken, fully featured training mode, all sorts of stuff! So essentially it just comes down to which you prefer, original SF2 or all the updated stuff.

I can relate to that nostalgic feeling only got the snes version too. Never knew about the other versions, back then. So many epic battles with friends and my brother. Why does the game have so many bad reviews? Was thinking about buying it, but there were better games released the last few months. Would someone still recommend it, were there many patches since the release?

I want Zero 2 Alpha AKA Alpha 2 Gold to be online instead of the original version. Why not have the best version of the game to play online, if they ever cave? There was a Japanese arcade version, and a PSX version for everyone.
Zero 2 Alpha nerfed the whole system a lot(Alpha Counters and Custom Combos), it's not worth the investment.
Quick question as a Japanese guy... when sakura shout her moves .. what does it mean ?...in English... this is been always my question ever since when I was a kid not just sakura but to all characters in general that shout there moves that are not in English.. 😯
She has a lot of moves but sho oh ken means blooming cherry blossom fist I think

they should have given us sf zero 2 gold, along with sf alpha 3 max. they are the best versions of the series.

No console versions of these ports? Unfortunate. I'll have to pass on this. I absolutely loved Alpha 2 Gold and Third Strike on Dreamcast, especially for the arranged soundtrack. I'm a bit remorseful over the fact that I waited specifically on a collection like this with ALL the 2D street fighter games for years. Online is a nice novelty, but its not enough to entice a buy from me.

No, I mean the "console" versions of the games, not the platform. Like Alpha 2 Gold. No unlockable Cammy in Alpha 2 either. They had this for Alpha Anthology, but not for this collection.

ALPHA 3 was probably the best in the ALPHA series. It's just that annoying rock techno music and the announcer that let it down
