    • @MarkSaiger
      @MarkSaiger  2 месяца назад

      360 XL too slow. I can clean faster and a lot of times better with a CRB and wand or Zipper. There are a few occasions a rotary can have a benefit, but we have only used a rotary twice in the last 4 years

      TheRocketbear54 thank you. 😊 we charge by the square foot and currently are 40 cents per square foot. This room was about $80 if I recall... The total invoice I cannot recall for the entire job but we also do have a minimum amount of work we like to get in certain areas. This was fairly close to or local so was easy in our minimum. But jobs like this are always fun for us because we like to test things so we can improve

    Are you happy with how the zipper gets around the edges or do you use your wand or edger tool to go around the baseboards?

    • @MarkSaiger
      @MarkSaiger  8 лет назад +1

      We prevac and edge out with the vacuum, and find the Zipper will edge as well as a wand for the most part. The spinner which is in this video won't edge as well forward, but does well along the sides. The Spinner is really more for those greasy grimy restaurant jobs, but there are some jobs I run into that I also use it on such as this rental. I would have probably used the Rotovac 360 XL on a job like this, but the carpet was in pretty poor shape for that type of agitation and cleaning. Some bad seams, other issues

      This is an old nylon from the 80's. They are durable and nylon carpet is great if you can find it. It can get some stains but good protectant and reaaplication of a protectant after some cleanings does help. But when they get this abused and old we generally just clean. Still fun to clean though 😊

      Hey Mark,
      Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I was looking at a carpet cleaner made by HydroForce awhile back and one gentleman said that these type of cleaners mess up the carpet underneath and basically they do not dry all the way or something like that which could cause bacteria or mold? He also mentioned I think the one you had the circular one which cleans the surface and is supposed to be pretty good for the carpets etc. I think the RotoVac360 was the one he mentioned etc. My question is the Zipper is the same as the HydroForce? Same spinners underneath etc? Thanks again and I welcome your comment.

    • @MarkSaiger
      @MarkSaiger  8 лет назад +1

      There are a lot of things people try to make out as don't work or not safe, or cause this and that. All the equipment and even the cleaning agents can depend on a balance of the tools being used together and put the cleaning agents down at a proper ratio or even with some proper tools. The Zipper is a unique tool, and the Super Spinner unique. Any tool can cause an over wetting if used improperly or not set up to say match the truckmount or portable you are using with it. It takes a lot for bacteria and mold to be created in a carpet....it would need the carpet to really be over flooded....a lot....and most of today's tools will not do that if a person is given some training, and their equipment is kept up. If you get the chance to attend a cleaning class at your distributor, or even attend a trade show such as the Connections Experience, you can try a lot of these tools and even see first hand how they work and feel. I am going to be in Nashville TN at the end of this month for a Mikey's Fest that is free to cleaners and we will be cleaning a lot, and networking with a lot of great people as well. If it is something you could attend or would be interested in, contact me off my website and I will forward you the information. It is going to be another wonderful get together of Cleaners. my website www.saigers.com

    How do you decide to super spin vs wand use?

    • @MarkSaiger
      @MarkSaiger  4 года назад +1

      Since this video and the new Devastator swivel head Wands from Thomas L Conway, and the room smaller, we would probably use the wand. But the Zipper SS Super Spinner is super aggressive and will flush out soils and bust through grease really fast. We now tend to use the high performance Devastator Wands in smaller areas, but break out the Zipper Wands on large areas. The regular Zipper is used on a lot of places. The SS Super Spinner on the rediculous soiled, entry areas, hallways with a lot of soils and restaurants

    Why would anyone waste money cleaning that hideous carpet? If the property is for sale, I'd rip it out as new owners would do the same on day one anyway, one less job for them to do and draws less attention to the fact the place is dated and may need other updates. If I was intending to rent out it I'd still rip it out and either replace with cheap contract carpet or laminate just to make it look more modern and also easier to maintain. I can't imagine a scenario where keeping an ugly 1980's carpet would be worthwhile or desirable!
