The door latch opener that you saw at the show helps a lot so you don’t have to go up two steps to open the door. That was the first thing my wife wanted when we saw it at the FROG rally last August.
After watching your video on this item, we went to the Salt Lake City Rv show today. Found a unit that this was attached too and tried it out. It’s going to make it much easier to get in and out of our Mini Lite. I too have spinal issues as well.
I had one installed when we were at MoRyde primarily for my 80+ year old Mother-in-Law who visits us from time to time. My wife loves it too. Color me skeptical but I don’t trust the magnet completely so I slip a zip tie behind it mostly for more piece of mind traveling down the road.
We’ve been using for a year and a half with no issues. If you have the height, works best if the bottom T section can be screwed into the base of the RV. It’s heavy duty. Would take a substantial amount of force to bend.
I noticed you installed it lower than the bottom of the door frame, looking to install this on our new 24 grand design influence 3704bh, on ours the bottom is just a trim peice, did you use a backer of some kind? I would need to go 2 3/4 inchs lower.
My wife has knee issues also but this just does not look that strong we went with a railing that bolts to the step its more secure.we also added lights and rugs to the steps.
Well were getting around to installing the rail. We had a Mini Lite 2506s and would not fit. So on July 18 we purchased a Rockwood Ultra Lite 2606ws. We are going to install it on the new RV. My question is. I noticed you did not butt the botton of the rail against the bottom of the door like MoRryde recomends. Is it because of the 5th wheel being higher, and Joan needed it to be a bit lower. Im kinda wondering about the same for me.
I have the same mobility issues and have wondered if the way it ends would cause me to fall if I'm not looking. I think it needs a telescoping adjustable bar that pops out from the bottom and secures to the ground.
If more support is needed and you have the Step Above stairs, an add on rail exists to connects to the steps. These have a bracket attached to the step and a pin that can be removed to store the rail when traveling. amzn.to/3JF7dDl
Thanks for a great install video. We asked our dealer to have this put on our 3931FB before we took delivery and they said they would have to remove our awning or make our door smaller for it to fit. 😂. We have 3” clearance between the awning and the door frame. Yours looked even tighter, so I’m thinking this should work for our RV. One question, did it interfere at all with your awning?
Thanks. Sounds like the dealer doesn’t know the product. The section of the railing the fits against the wall of the RV is 2 1/8 inches wide. There is a T-section at the bottom that’s wider, but that should be clear of the awning. You’re right, ours was tighter and fit exactly in that space. If your handy with a drill and screw driver, it’s a simple install.
Unfortunately quality issues are the norm with RVs. I’ve yet to meet a single RV owner who hasn’t had issues in the first few months after purchasing a new RV regardless of model or manufacturer.
great video God Bless
Thanks Ray
I really like the one I bought and installed.
Joan too likes the extra reach.
Super Happy you demo'd this great product. I purchased the MorRyde SafeTRail and Door handle at Quartzsite. Installed them. Outstanding product.
Appreciate you watching.
Great show Safe Travels
Thanks
I really like that rail but I like that the original folds over the door to keep it from opening
That’s a benefit. Joan’s enjoying the extra length on these longer Montana steps.
Y’all look cute with “dead cats” on your shirts and the sound is very clear.🐱
Haha! They worked! We were experiencing 20 mile winds from the beach. Very surprised with the way the sound turn out.
Got the safe t rail installed today. It fits perfectly on our Rockwood Ultra Lite 2606ws. 1:02
Good news. Joan is loving ours.
It's great good job, I can see that definitely be handy
Thanks Danny.

I saw that too. Nice addition.
All ways good helpful videos

Jerry you really like Joan.
Absolutely!

I’m wondering about the magnet too. Stay tuned.
@@iLoveRVlife We have had the handrail on since last August and it has not moved the magnet is strong.
Thanks Tony
Great video. May have to look into one of these.
Still waiting to take delivery of our new Cougar.
Thanks. Enjoy the new RV!
Looking to add this to our RV
Joan loves it.
Great video. How about side to side, are you always being conscious not to lean on it. Do you think kids will bend it?

I did. I wanted to install higher but the awning supports are in the way.
My wife has knee issues also but this just does not look that strong we went with a railing that bolts to the step its more secure.we also added lights and rugs to the steps.
True, it doesn’t have lateral strength. More for pulling up and support down.
Do you know why they change the design on the Hand Rail, OK you know why very sad but good so now I have two to buy and install, thanks
I don’t. But definitely an improvement

You got it. We wanted to meet Joan’s height. Later, I made a bracket to connect the lower part of the rail to the frame to stiffen.
thats what i figured. @@iLoveRVlife

Thanks so much, will be our first improvement project! 😊
👍
Does it cover up the existing holes that the swing out handrest has
It does. Put a little silicone in each to keep the water out.
Seen a sneak peak of lipperts new handrail, way stronger and easier. Only takes a couple minutes to instal
Thanks. We’ll check it out.
The bottom of the hand rail should be flush with the bottom of the door. Thats the backing plate
Agree unfortunately, the awning prevents the hand rail from moving up higher. Even with this draw back, the hand rail works well.
If it were installed on a class A would you be able to retracted it from inside?
Should work on a Class A as long as no obstructions from coded door handles, etc. No way to retract from inside though.
There is a compatability questionnaire on the website.
Good point. See link morryde.wpenginepowered.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Safe-T-Rail-Qualifier_v4.pdf
Lack of quality plagues the industry, I would expect more from Montana.

That definitely looks flimsy
It’s very well built and the metal is a heavy gauge. No flex in use for almost a year. It’s performing well.
