The crew crashed the boat into the rocks, requiring everyone to wear PFDs and be transported to a police boat. The vessel was left adrift and stuck on the rocks, needing rescue. What could have been done to prevent this?
Most likely operator error as opposed to equipment failure. 8 people on that size boat seemed too many as well - looked like there were not enough PFDs for everyone.
Boat is rated for 10 people and the issue wasn’t it was tipping over or too heavy instead some kind of malfunction. All they could do was get pfds on and maybe throw the anchor but in the middle of the inlet most likely the anchor will not hold without hitting the rocks.
@@justinnunez3311 the max load capacity is 1846 lbs meaning the total of people and all gear - food, drinks, toys. I would be willing to bet that the weight limit was exceeded but not likely to cause them to hit the rocks. When a boat is rated for 10 people it doesn’t mean you should have 10. I would not want to be on that small boat with 9 others in Haulover inlet or the ocean. Maybe a lake or the IC….
@ billschafer9668 he only had 8 people so at 170lbs in average and a couple of coolers he may be under the limit and that is a safe limit. As far as being in the inlet with that boat it’s up to the person with those seas I don’t see a problem but I agree on some days I wouldn’t be there with that size boat. It doesn’t look like it was that bad of a day at least where they were otherwise that boat would be underwater. My point was a boat malfunction will put any boat in danger on that inlet with one person or fully loaded.
I have the 19’ version, have loaded it with 8 people have not felt unsafe on it but I stay in the ICW. If it’s flat I could go out but I have no business going in the ocean so I don’t risk it. I have been out on my 27 and you still get tossed like you are in a 20’ on some days. I don’t know what happened here but if the boat lost power you have no time to react with the current and wind.
It’s rated for 10, these are light boats. The only problem is the seas as that boat is more of a lake boat. Anyways the boat wasn’t sinking it was malfunctioning which can happen with any amount of people and any boat.
When I see fish held up in triumph, I question, are they small due to species size, or is it population over fishing ? I compare to our trips downunder for reference. Any ideas? 👍🇭🇲🦘
My opinion would be passenger overloading and no clue about trimming the craft. And....not enough pfds and not wearing them. The boat will be repainted and advertised as "professionally maintained with low engine hours." Hey! It didn't sink!
It’s a jet boat there is no trimming. That boat is rated for 10 people but I agree he should have PFDs for everyone. As far as malfunction it could have albeen anything.
It was a private tow company that recovered the boat (only had white lights) and they definitely charge. From what I can find it seems the miami boys and girls in blue will also charge as well
Is it law in the US to have to wear pfds whenever crossing a bar???? In Aus it is compulsory and the amount of clips I’ve seen on this channel leaves me in disbelief to the stupidity of so called captains of vessels who have no idea of how to try and keep their passengers safe while exiting this inlet…….

Looks like starboard stern line got sucked into impeller!
The couple at 4:20 outshines everyone on this video. Well behaved, taking their time, being safe, and did you look at her? 💯% natural . muah 😘

The identity of the mystery craft is Bouncing Boat built by Updown Inc..
Dam that chick looks pissed 😎
They dress themselves like that and they don't want to be filmed in PUBLIC after that..🙄

9 people on board a 21ft vessel is a hell of a crowd....

Nice
The green rescue boat should have two operators on board. One person alone cannot do a proper rescue job.
There was 2 operators on it. Watch again. I didn't see the other guy at first either
that looks like a Baja...and she didn't appreciate the creepin
Rental?
bill between $4,000 and $6,000 to recover the boat and tow it to a marina.

I can never understand why these idiots load up the bow going through there
When you boat has to be recovered by the cops/fire department/whoever, do they get a bill? That seems like something you should have to pay for,
Good question. Or are tax payers paying for idiots?

We value freedom to be stupid over any form of common sense regulation. And that will get more extreme as the new (very old) leader returns.
There are a lot of stupid amateurs out there..
