Loved hearing about your enrichment studies! I feel like you could do an awesome video about homeschooling reading/writing/arithmetic curriculums too and how your style maybe has evolved over time? Or some more tips and tricks for unseasoned homeschool moms 🙃
    Looking forward to more videos!

Thank you for those ideas!! I'm going to do some curriculum spotlights and show what we're using next year in the next 2 months! And share what we tried and tabled too ❤️ I appreciate the ideas!!

This was a great video! We enjoy a lot of the SCM resources in our homeschool as well.
For poetry tea time we have partnered with another family and alternate months hosting tea time. So this month we hosted tea for her and her kids, and next month she will host tea.
Also going into next school year we are rotating enrichments on a six week rotation. So for the first 6 weeks we will focus on a music lesson and an art lesson (once a week). The next 6 weeks will do a music lesson and tea time (at home), once a week. And the next 6 weeks loop back around to art, so art and tea time once a week.
We will continue this rotation throughout the school year. We also do a focused picture study, poet study, and composer study once a week with our morning basket.
Hope that helps people with ideas:) I am constantly reminded we don't have to do all the things, all the time.

This is really helpful!! I'm getting together with some local moms and alternating tea times is something I hope we can commit to once a month! 😍😍😍 thank you for sharing your tips! Love the rotation idea!

How cool that you had a copy from when you were small of Pilgrims Progress. Love that.

My mom has quite the collection to loan from 🥰 it's so fun re-reading books from childhood, isn't it?

@@hannahgravelle Very much so. I have a few of my husbands childhood goodies as well as a book or two from my childhood. You can't go wrong with the old school items.

I really enjoyed your video and loved the ideas you had for Charlotte-Mason style enrichment. I am not very familiar with her but am interested in learning more - I keep hearing about her style. BTW I too was homeschooled myself and have found how different it is as the parent! ;-) (And, I was a music minor! So I loved hearing the ideas for music incorporation as well!)

Lots in common!! How wonderful! Thanks for joining :) it is SO different teaching, 😄 but at least we have a little bit of idea going into it! I'll definitely share more about music in the future 🎶

Do you have to use the SMC enrichment guide in order to do the music studies?

I don't! I bought that the first year and ended up not really using it 🙈🙈 if you think having it all written out daily would help & your new to homeschooling I could see it being very useful!
