lisa, they're calling this dish "pico de gallo", but here in Brasil we call this "vinagrete", and it's usually made of onions, tomatoes & green bell pepper seasoned with vinegar, olive oil and salt. i ate it today with some farofa aside
Actually, it's "molho." It's more vinegary than pico. Also, like you discovered at the end, the molho and farofa is just eaten on top of the feijoada, which I think you forgot to name. Feijoada and picanha are Brazilian staples. The coxinhas are a favorite street food/ delicacy. Brigadeiros are a sweet treat, and a staple at anyt Brazilian dinner party. You got ALL the right stuff! Just don't forget, feijoada is THE main dish, the Brazilian standard. Next time try Moqueca! If you live seafood, you won't be disappointed!
Hey Lisa! My suggestion for Day 25 is to try Polish food! Some of my favorites are Pierogi (dumplings), Barszcz Czerwony/Borscht (Red Beetroot Soup), and Kielbasa (sausage). If you try it, I hope you enjoy!
Yes. Try Polish food! All of these recipes! Then, for day 26 try Ukrainian food! My favorite is is Borscht(red beetroot soup), kielbasa(sausage) pierogi(dumplings).
Here in Brazil there’s always a debate between who likes to start the coxinha from top ou bottom haha. Farofa is a complement to rice and beans, but you can added some bacon, corn, scrambled eggs…. Or just bananas! And brigadeiro with coffee it’s the best!! ❤️ 🇧🇷
Hi Lisa! I love seeing you try new cultural dishes! I’m Jewish and was raised in authentic Hebrew meals. I can definitely understand if you don’t have anything in Kansas, but Latkes, Matzo Brei, noodle and onion kugel, and chocolate babka are the best! Good luck with everything and have fun!
Farofa is a side dish by itself! You can make your own by tosting cassava or corn flour with onions, garlic, bacon, shredded carrots and other things (my favorite uses passions fruit pulp, super crunchy). It goes well with any kind of stew or soupy dishes.
I continue to be impressed by the range of restaurant food available between Wichita and Kansas City- together, and maybe separately, as diverse or better than Ottawa. This looked great. I'd have to do some research to see if Ottawa has even one Brazilian place.
I live in San Francisco and was seriously shocked and impressed at how great the food scene in Kansas City is! I'm a vegetarian, to boot, and was so happy with how many options i had everywhere i went!
On 4 August 2020, a large amount of ammonium nitrate stored at the Port of Beirut in the capital city of Lebanon exploded, causing at least 218 deaths, 7,000 injuries, and US$15 billion in property damage, and leaving an estimated 300,000 people homeless. A cargo of 2,750 tonnes of the substance (equivalent to around 1.1 kilotons of TNT) had been stored in a warehouse without proper safety measures for the previous six years after having been confiscated by the Lebanese authorities from the abandoned ship MV Rhosus. The explosion was preceded by a fire in the same warehouse, but as of September 2021, the exact cause of the detonation is still under investigation. The blast physically shook the whole country of Lebanon. It was felt in Turkey, Syria, Palestine, and Israel as well as parts of Europe, and was heard in Cyprus, more than 240 km (150 mi) away. It was detected by the United States Geological Survey as a seismic event of magnitude 3.3,[1] and is considered one of the most powerful artificial non-nuclear explosions in history. The Lebanese government declared a two-week state of emergency in response to the disaster. In its aftermath, protests erupted across Lebanon against the government for their failure to prevent the disaster, joining a larger series of protests which have been taking place across the country since 2019.
hey Lisa did u know that Brigadeiros are actually supper easy to make they only require 4 or 5 ingredients i made them before they tastes very very good from what i can remember they need butter condensed milk and coco powder you put the all in a pan and cook it becomes thick but make sure u don't overcook it like don't make it too thick and then put it in a grease plat and let if cool down for 1 hour in the fridge and then role then into balls and then roll them into sprinkles
as a Brazilian i feel really pleased by seeing someone English reconsider to taste our best foods in the country also there is "pastel" here in brazil god pastel is soo delicious
I lived in the city of Recife, in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil with my wife and son for 4 years and absolutely loved it. It'd be a nice place to retire to someday, it's truly beautiful.
Brigadeiros are usually butter, sweetened condensed milk, and cocoa powder for the chocolate ones(in the recipes that I have used and seen). They are very easy to make
This made remember the coxhinas I used to eat everyday in my 2 month travel around Brasil. I would buy them at the train stations and they were delicious!!! Im reeeeally craving them right now
Day 3 of asking: Make scrambled eyes but replace the salt and pepper with soy sauce and wait for a few minutes and use a spatula to make it scrambled and put a bowl of rice and with the scrambled eyes in the same bowl if you make a more simple one mix oil and soy sauce to the rice
I spent my childhood in Brazil. Actually, "molho" is a li'l more vinegary than pico. Also, like you discovered at the end, the molho and farofa is just eaten on top of the feijoada, which I think you forgot to name. Feijoada and picanha are Brazilian staples. The coxinhas are a favorite street food/ delicacy. Id like to see you make them! Look up "coxinhas de frango." Brigadeiros are a sweet treat, and a staple at any Brazilian dinner party. You got ALL the right stuff! Just don't forget: Feijoada is THE main dish, the Brazilian standard. Next time try Moqueca! If you like seafood, you won't be disappointed!
Lisa, you HAVE to try Brazilian fish stew: moqueca! It goes along perfectly with farofa and some white rice, and it has a great combo of flavors (the sweetness from the coconut milk, the spiciness from the peppers... It has it all). There's a simple enough recipe you can find on this link: ruclips.net/video/NIZ9JkofHKY/видео.html (The New York Times Cooking on RUclips also has a great one packed with the history of the dish!)
Haha. To the other Nigerians on here, did you catch the cCassava flour AKA Garri @1.20. Did not know Brazilians ate Garri as well. Will say though, never tried it as a coating dip for steak or any meat for that matter. Love that I now know that. I have howeve tried it as a topping in place of sesame seeds in stir fried rice or pasta,
Lil tip, more farofa on the beans the better. Adds more crunch! My boyfriend is Brazilian, and I just got back from visiting his home country with him. My first impulse was to sprinkle a little, but he advised to go heavy on the farofa and he was not wrong! Vinigrette is also nice with the picanha cos the tang mellows the fattiness in my opinion :)
there aren’t any main dishes with farofa, usually it comes as a side dish, but you can use to make farofa temperada, the recipe is very free to your imagination, i like to sauté some onions, then add bacon, shredded carrots, corn and lots of green onions and parsley, you mix up everything in a pot and it becomes a great side dish to eat with churrasco (grilled meat) or even with rice and beans like in the video
Hi! I would recommend trying a Cajun boil? It usually has Crawfish, shrimp, crab, corn on the cob and boiled potatoes and sometimes sausage. Usually you have to crack the crack the crab and craw fish shells to get to meat. It’s worth the effort cause it tastes so good. It’s has a kick but I have a low spice tolerance.
Use your farofa to eat with moqueca!! You will love it. Its so easy and quick to make moqueca. If you find the ingredients I think you will naill it!!!!
FAROFAAAA!! Very good with scrambled eggs, onions, bananas, bacon, cilantro, and really whatever you like. Its a side dish tho, typically to eat with meat or beans. Farofa with beans are even a dish itself, called "tutu de feijão". And the coxinha is usually eaten with ketchup.
The ball with the sprinkles on it looks like the inside is dolce the Leche that’s what it reminds me of! my husband is from Uruguay so I’m a little familiar with these foods❤️❤️❤️
If you want to eat the farofa I would sugent making feijoada. The farofa is usually consumed with it along with white rice, braised cabbage and a slice of an orange if you like a more bittersweet flavor. Ps: the orange should be cut into 4 pieces and then you squezze it's juice on top of the food
Try the new flavour of "Lucky Me" its called "Milky Me" i cooked it earlier is tastes so good! And yes,it tastes like it has milk also try smashing the corn and greens to little pieces from the pack
Hi, Lisa. Can you try Jamaican food🇯🇲 please? Some suggestions are a beef & cheese patty, ackee & saltfish (national dish) with fried dumplings, oxtail with rice and peas or curry chicken with rice and peas. For drink you can get a ginger beer, Malta or a ting soda
For next day try Irish stew - very basic stew broth with beef, barley oats, carrot, parsnip, mushroom, potato, lots of onion, garlic and of course a can of Guinness. In comparison to other countries, our food culture is very stripped back and I suspect it's from such a recent famine and years of having our agricultural economy controlled by colonisation lol. What we do though we do it good I promise. Doesnt get much better for a hearty comfort meal. Greetings from Connemara, love your channel ! ❤
Side note sometimes it's a broth like I said but when people add the Guinness component it is usually thickened with something and cooked to more of a reduced level almost becoming more of a sauce
Day 26: Homemade Baked Mac n Cheese (seasoned well!) with thin sliced pan fried beef and/or pork sausage links, frozen green peas steamed (don’t do canned🤢), topped with salt and pepper and Franks Red Hot Sauce. Try it first before you add the hot sauce. It’s good that way too. 😁
Dear Lisa, For Day 25 you should have A Asian Food dish if you want something very specific that I suggest, here’s what I have for you sushi with crab in it with, edamame and a peanut colada (with no alcohol)
Hey Lisa , my suggestion for you would be to try authentic malabari (It is term used for Kerala which is southern state of India) cuisine. Stay happy and healthy - with lots of love fellow moomoo 💕💕
For day 25 I request you to try Pakistani food please some of my favorites are *Biryani, Nahari and Pulaoo* (for main course) *Kheer and Gulab Jamun* you can try other things like "Kulfi or Kulfi Faloda* (for desert)
Ooh you should try grapefruit with powdered sugar. Just cut one in half, dog the spoon under to losses the prices up a bit but don’t take them out then sprinkle powdered sugar over it and take a spoon and eat it. Sooooo good
My go to ramen recipe A packet of ramen noodles, scallion, onion, sweet peppers, garlic (alot), [any spicy pepper/pepper sauce are opt.] soy sauce, sugar. Boil the ramen noodles (to desired doneness) without the seasoning packet. Veggies or meat are optional but if used saute with half the seasoning packet and the soy sauce along with the other seasonings added. Then drain the water from the noodles and add to the pot with sauted ingredients. Add sugar and more soy sauce and continue to stir fry until at your desired consistency. Sauce should be sticking to noodles and they should be sticky.
Hi Lisa! Day 4 of asking for Bangladeshi Food plzzz ☺️ Different kind of Vorta, Hilsa fish fry, Shorshe Elish (Hilsa with mustard gravy), Morog-Polao, Beef tehari, Beef/mutton Rezala, Biriyani! Dessert (Roshmolai & Mishti Doi) Trust me u will love it ❤️
Hey Lisa! Can you try a ham and cheese hot pocket with scrambled eggs? I season my eggs with pepper, salt, accent, and chicken adobo, and I stir them in a pan off heat before putting them onto heat and keeping them moving until creamy and scrambled the way you would get it when scrambling with chopsticks. Then open the side of the hot pocket, I oven bake it but you can microwave too, and put the scrambled eggs inside
can you pleaseeee try belgian stoofvlees? Its one of my favorite foods and i bet its like nothing youve ever had before! 😋 so intrigued about what your reaction would be :) (you do have to make it yourself) 💛 (tip : try with steak fries and mayonnaise
Lisa! Could I please suggest that you try a Kerala Sadhya? (Kerala is a south Indian state and is popularly known as God's Own Country). A sadhya is a meal eaten on a Banana leaf (usually for Onam- an important festival) and if you want something that's different with each bite- this is the way to go!
Food from Cambodia is amazing and so underrated as it is quite over shadowed by Vietnamese and Thai cuisine although I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't find any in your area.
Bibimbap (비빔밥), tteokbokki (떡볶이), naengmyun (냉면) Bibimbap is rice topped with various veggies and sometimes meat and mix it with gochujang (a chili paste) and sesame oil Tteokbokki is rice cakes served with a spicy sauce, Jeanelleats is a fan I believe Naengmyun is cold noodle soup, there’s a spicy non soup kind but I would like you to try the soup kind
Day 24 of asking Lisa to try making masala dosa (Dosa is a sort of a savoury, South Indian rice/lentil pancake, and the “masala” that goes along with it is a simple potato sabzi). Maybe you should also try making sambhar and coconut chutney with it!
Have you ever tried Brazilian food?
No I did not yet... You are really nice and sweet character
No i haven't but i would love too! Btw can u try macedonian food please?
you should do Columbian food next! this is my 8th day for asking

Ahh I saw your ad for Morning Star! Congrats!!
Bibimbap (비빔밥), tteokbokki (떡볶이), naengmyun (냉면)
Bibimbap is rice topped with various veggies and sometimes meat and mix it with gochujang (a chili paste) and sesame oil
Tteokbokki is rice cakes served with a spicy sauce, Jeanelleats is a fan I believe
Naengmyun is cold noodle soup, there’s a spicy non soup kind but I would like you to try the soup kind
Day 24 of asking Lisa to try making masala dosa (Dosa is a sort of a savoury, South Indian rice/lentil pancake, and the “masala” that goes along with it is a simple potato sabzi). Maybe you should also try making sambhar and coconut chutney with it!
Try mango pulp and honey Greek yogurt!! Won’t regret it!!
Brigadeiro is powdered chocolate, condensed milk and butter or magarine
For day 25 can you try African food one of my favorite dishes is Jollof rice with chicken
I don't know what, but hearing "I got a request from sadness to eat Brazilian food" made me laugh
