- Things I keep in my Jiu Jitsu gym bag! Some helpful ideas if you're just starting and don't know what you might need!

I recently started bjj (like 3 weeks ago) and I love it but being the only girl at my gym most of the time I’ve been looking for more experienced bjj girls to help guide the way and shelly is the perfect person! Glad I found her

This looks almost identical to my bag, down to the bag (I have the same Adidas one in Gray/Black from Ross for $15). I don't have the feminine hygiene stuff, but everything else is virtually identical. The only thing I added is a drawstring sports bag to shove my dirty gi into. When I get home, I unpack the Gi, my rash guard, and sports underwear, and throw that and the drawstring bag into the wash. It keeps my gym bag from smelling and live is good. I keep my spare clothes in a separate bag in the trunk of my car, and there is always a jiu jitsu training bag in the car packed and ready to train or open mats at a moments notice.
Omg the hair tie thing happens to me all the time!! Luckily I come prepared now haha! I use a shock doctor mouth guard, but I need to try the one you have! Great video!
i used to use a shock doctor one when i first started the one i had....looked like i had a hockey puck in my mouth lmao. you will love that one! I don't recommend it though if you plan on sparring for mma. I personally don't think its good enough for that but for jiu jitsu its great!!!
Hand sanitizer. But not for your hands - for your feet. Before I train, I always hit the mouthwash and the speedstick. Then rub hand sanitizer on my feet and between my toes. There be foot-lockers and toe-holders at my gym, yo. Also ... a wet bag to put your sweaty clothes in so that your actual gym bag doesn't get wet. You carry the wet bag strait home and dump it into the washing machine.
my feet are clean before training but i guess it depends what you were doing before lol. Good ideas!
I wear boots all day at work then roll. Just a precaution out of respect for my partners. The wet bag though ... I can't recommend it highly enough. I don't want my gi getting wet when I put sweaty no-gi in my gym bag. Link ...

1,00,000 Thank Yous for mentioning nail clippers! This is an OSSTANDING list, and I agree about the Sisu mouthguard. I have used a Sisu for 3+ years and it is hands-down the best mouthguard I have ever used. I am not an employee or product shill - it's just a fantastic piece of equipment. To your list I would add a couple of gauze pads (because you WILL roll with that idiot who didn't clip his nails), Visine, and an energy bar for when you need a little pick me up. I actually put all of that stuff in a Dopp kit inside my bag, and it keeps things perfectly tamed.
I use the telephone cord hair ties. They never ever break
I've made a point to take Gas-X about an hour before class to help prevent those embarassing moments....

My jiu jitsu bag is the trunk of my car. Cup holders. Passenger seat. Under the seats sometimes. Basically my shit just flies everywhere. 🤷♀️

lucky you! lol mine start to become loose almost after every roll i need to tighten them.Are you asking if i use bobby pins? I don't really recommend bobby pins just because some how they could fall out or poke someone in the eye or something haha idk though. use at your own risk for those i suppose?
