I have been using my King Kong bag for about 4 years. I love it. Holds everything. Still in good shape. I don’t use the shoe compartment for the reason you mentioned. I just drop my shoes into the main part of the bag with my other stuff. I was curious about the Haven bags. Thank you for the review!

I have the same bag. But i find it too big for me. Im planning to get the small version next year. I really like how organized the haven is. Really great for gym goers who like to open their gym bag and can get their stuff easily without digging in. Very durable too.
King Kong just sent me their core duffle... I've got a review coming out. It might just be the best of both worlds.

What do you think of the Heritage bag from king kong ?
I haven't looked at it, honestly
I think with king kongs new line they have a divider and it does the same thing. The divider also collapses so you can make more room if needed

I like using hiking backpacks. You could probably easily fit all that in a 100L backpack (probably even a 60L). You can get a good 100L backpack for under $50. The King Kong bag is just soooo expensive.
A hiking backpack is definitely something that I considered... these bags definitely feel like a spurge - and they're both darn good!!

Just thought you might want to know that King Kong now sells bag dividers you can rearrange how you like and they hold up pretty nicely.
Seems like you get the best of both worlds doing that option.
I believe I've got some coming from King Kong and am pretty excited to check that option out!

Absolutely nothing beats an aviation bag…kept mine once I got out. Enough room to stash my parachute in….enough room for all this gear plus some.
