“those are filthy trams, we don’t touch those” Ah I see you've never listened to the classic hit Croydon Tram by Eccentronic. *And it's fun fun fun, on the Croydon tram tram tram!* You should make this a series and perfect other subway maps around the world
Mill Hill East was once connected to Edgware, but then it closed, and they only electrified it until mill hill. Jay Foreman has an excellent video on it.
I don’t know if toycat knows this, but his design of a bakerloo line extension is really accurate compared to an actual bakerloo line extension that is in planning, which would go through Peckham to Lewisham, near Greenwich (Edit) also, 19:35 “I think I was pretty reasonable” yeah... with your new tube line between Blackfriars and Farringdon you literally just built over and destroyed the Thameslink railway that runs in tunnels between there... probably for the better lol
Camberwell and Peckham route was scrapped in favour of Old Kent Road, with two stations between E&C and NXGate. TfLslowly pressing ahead despite funding not being secured. Same goes with DLR branch from Galleons Reach to Thamesmead. Loads of stuff published if you want to explore further.
There were plans to split the Northern Line, but this required a new station at Camden Town, as the existing station would be quite inadequate for the number of passengers changing. The plans were put on hold before the pandemic. The Charing Cross branch of the Northern Line is being extended from Kennington to Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station, and this should open late this year. At the moment, all off-peak Charing Cross trains (except Night Tube, when it returns) use the reversing loop south of Kennington. Perhaps some trains will still use it after the extension opens.
Tries to future proof Heathrow by building the loop near where Terminal 6 might be... Makes same mistake as when they tried to future proof Heathrow by building the loop near where Terminal 5 was going to be.
Catching up on my Andrew Andrews videos. Glad to hear you took my framerate suggestion in the last video. ibx2cat replied to that original comment so I wasn't sure if Andrew would hear about it but good to hear the communications department at Toycat Inc. is doing a fine job.
Ironicallt Heathrow was origianlly meant to be future-proofed for a terminal 5. That's why they made it a loop rather than a simple terminus. And the Northern is operated as two lines during the peak hours - High Barnet (via Charinf Cross) to Kennington; and Edgware (bia Bank) to Morden. Although awkwardly this makes your names the wrong way round, High Barnet is the further north station and was the branch the Northern City line (from which the name came) would have conmected on to.
Pre-Elizabeth line - but that's why the Central to Ealing B'way is useful. H&Wealdstone is a great place to connect with faster trains to the north and midlands as many national rail services call there. My big scheme would be to connect Uxbridge to Iver - so joining the Met and Lizzy lines. Only 3.5 miles of track and one tunnel needed to make the latter line relevant to N.W. London...which it isn't currently.
I don't really know how much nicer, but probably they are. We also still have trams driving around which were built in the 1940s and 1950s for some reason. A lot of them can be dirty though especially if they had a lot of people on or if they are one of the 70 or 60 year old trams I talked about earlier, with all of the stuff from people sitting in them for 70 years now accumulated in the seats.
You seem to have got rid of the N Line extension to Battersea Power Station Station. Is this part of your rationalisation of the N Line. Also, instead of removing MHE, you could just reinstate the line to MH The Hale and Edgware.
i think that when this video was made, battersea power station and nine elms hadn’t opened because i realised that as well but when i searched it up they were added on the tube map later in the year
And plus it’s pointless making a tiny Central line extension to the Bethnal green overground I don’t mind them adding Shoreditch High Street As a station but for Bethnal green they could just link the overground and Central line stations with an underground passenger subway
I would love to watch your videos on almost any platform that is not on YT. One of my favorite content creator ditched YT for good and is put his videos on Odysee.
Bit late to the party, but your worst suggestions. Loop and u-shaped lines and routes based on the distorted tube maps. Line that goes to Blackfriars and the Farringdon… Think it’s called Thameslink.
To perfect the map pf the tube I made a new train line Westminster line Waltham cross enfield wash enfield chase bush hill park firs farm lordship lane noel park crouch end upper holloway highbury and islington angel liverpool street london bridge city thameslink covent garden charing cross westminster hyde park corner marble arch paddington north kensington old oak common lane hanger hill brentham garden castle bar park Willow tree 26 stops using 1996 stock but in 2027 it will come as 2019 stock 15 stops=suburb 11 stops=underground coming every 5-6 min
Of course, the disused Charing Cross branch of the Jubilee goes as far as Aldwych. Could connect from there to Charing Cross to make a good interchange.
I respect your opinion on the Ealing Broadway withdraw I think instead of withdrawing the Ealing Broadway branch I think it should extend to Reading which is where crossrail ends
that was not the 2020 or 2021 tube map because the TfL rail didn't go to Heathrow airport or reading and the bakerloo line is going to Lewisham and to Hayes south east London it go to use the southeastern route to hayes and we need the tramlink
The Docklands Light Railway is a light Metro...it is not a "tram". There is no street running and the trains are driverless.....trams are not driverless.
I admire your effort to change the tube but TBH it is deeply flawed. You cannot get rid of the trams, in fact they should be extended, and your last line simply doesn't make sense, in fact my cat can do a better job. I have a vision for tube extensions too and they are far more effective. Also, I will not build Crossrail 2 as Thameslink extensions will be far more effective and certainly more cost effective.
I like the no-edit stream of consciousness filming but some things benefit from practising a good few times. A refreshing no-shame what if, but it was all let down towards the end by the lazy squiggly lines. Must try harder but thanks all the same.
As a transport consultant this is hilarious, and Ive also done this exericse before and went even crazier than you, Crossrail 3,4,5 and 6 You do know a lot of what you proposed have had outline business cases but just cant get funding Ok I get to the end and see you just drew Thameslink loooooooooool, please tell me you did that unknowingly
You don't need to perfect the Pyongyang Metro map, we only have two lines
Could you shoot your missiles to Winnie the Pooh. If you did that you would be my favorite leader in the world.
Hey Kim, North Korea is best korea, but North Korea would be best nation if you shot your missiles at Winnie the Pooh.

Yes he does
Note: I normally comment as @hanstheexplorer.
And yes, that did happen.
also, i think that it would make sense for the western branch to instead go to bushey heath, or possibly both!
ya

It is operated as two separate lines at peak hours anyway, so that doesn't make sense.

Don't worry dude, the public transport in Northamptonshire would give u PTSD..... Let's forget London there

Did anyone else notice that ibxToycat removed South Wimbledon and Mordern while getting rid of the trams
I did
Someone proposes for the Bakerloo line to be extended to watford junction every year and it gets rejected every time 🤣
DLR can't extend, because the central part was too much tunnel

102% agree with no more mill hill east, do not agree with nothern/southern or ealing broadway change
I think you've overlooked poor old Thamesmead. I think buying property there might be an investment as it's sure to get links sooner or later.
The new Heathrow runway will be going over the M25 to the northwest of the current runways
