This is true dedication. To think Jay went ahead and found a woman, made her fall in love with him, move in, made a baby , waited 9 months to be born. All of this for a Surfshark VPN ad-read.

@@user-wr7cv1ny5r The funny thing is that I only started watching Jago after this video was released, so I didn't get, until recently, ,the joke behind his 'You are the ungrateful company to my years of faithful service' line XD
Harry Beck's initial map design was huge. My grandmother (his niece) remembered seeing him climbing all over the dining table in his parent's house in Highgate making alterations and corrections.
She was very proud of her uncle's achievement and we have had copies of the originals hung up in our houses ever since.
Even now, my children are aware of Harry Beck's map.
To me, my Great Grand-Uncle's design is one of the most beautiful pieces of technical drawing ever, bordering on art.
How do you feel that your great grand uncle is a famous person?
thanks for sharing this
@@SacsachCCABP I feel immensely proud. Most of the time it's not something that anyone is overfully fussed about. But then you get moments like when my Design teacher at school told me that he wrote his dissertation about Uncle Harry.
It's undoubtedly one of the most iconic designs of the last century, and essentially inspired nearly every other metro map in the world. Phenomenal design.
That connection to someone famous must be a good conversation starter.

Fun fact: Geoff Marshall (who played Frank Marshall here) lived in Anerica for a few years. Uploaded a documentary last summer about looking up each state as a train.
I would rather wait 6-9 months for a good quality video that getting bombarded every few days with meh boring stuff. Thank you Jay for staying committed.
Watching Harry Beck and Frank Pick two months after the original video makes a whole lot more sense! Also quite funnier!
"what is the story behind this map" my brain: MAP ME- oh its unfinished london
I seriously want to know how Geoff stayed perfectly still like that. Incredible.
They told him to think of allotments.
I wonder if Geoff secretly knows how to race cars. His stoicism in this video reminded me of the Stig.
Tim Dunn, Geoff Marshall, even Geoff's mum! It's like a railway presenter crossover.
The only one missing was Ashens, who made a voiceover cameo in an older video.
Don't think many realise Tim's in this.
we're only missing Jago Hazard, tho we don't know what he looks like, so maybe not
@@1224chrisng: Thank you for this, completely agree!
Lets be honest we waited so long for this:

When I tell you my jaw dropped when Geoff appears.... fantastic video as always Jay!
As someone who is interested in trains (and even has an alternative channel called SleepTrain456), I found it to be a very informative video! I didn't know it took so long and so many designs to get the modern London Underground map! I also learned that an _American_ was involved in the consolidation of the various underground lines (who went to very great efforts to make it harder to even transfer to other lines!) into a singular private company... and eventually London Transport! Thanks for the video!
Also, nice menagerie of puns!
