57:18 it's further proof that he was the one that killed their father. The marks are essentially magical burns from the power blast from when he tried to kill them as babies. He's been saying that he's never seen them before, so not only did Cameron draw his face (which can be argued that it was just a childhood imagination) but he has these marks that cant be disputed. Cause if he never saw them before than how were his hands branded with the symbols of the girls' amulets

41:38 fun fact- this sequence Cameron was play Tia instead of Tamera. I cant remember why but Tamera couldn't make it to set that day.

38:45 FUN FACT!!!! In this scene, that's Tia (who plays Alex) filling in for Tamera "Who plays Camryn" because Tamera wasn't able to shoot that day. That's why she's wearing a mask to help conceal her identity even though they are twins. Ta-Daaaaa!🎉
This movie also aged really well from an adoptee perspective. I also appreciate more now than I did as a kid that they're 21 and that the movie didn't waste time on needless high school drama
I watched this movie so often as a kid that me and my cousin would pretend to be twins and witches😭😭 I also remember vividly wanting those matching necklaces so badly lol I loved movies like this as a kid with trinkets and girls being the main focus
I still want those necklaces. I need to make them but am unsure what paint or stickers I need to get to match the originals perfectly.

Someone already mentioned the store scene being similar to Sister Sister, but there were a lot of parallels to Sister Sister in this movie, to the point where Twitches is damn near a high-fantasy Sister Sister. In both Sister Sister and Twitches, Tia’s adoptive family was low-income while Tamera was raised by a rich family. Tia also always played the straight-woman to Tamera’s more excitable personality.
I think the only major difference is that in Sister Sister, their biological father lived while their mother died when they were born, whereas the opposite was the case in Twitches.
Never saw the sequel so I’m not sure if there are any further parallels to be found there.
Tia & Tamera are mainly famous for Sister Sister, a show about twin girls adopted into separate families & meeting each for the first time as teens 😂 then the adoptive parents agree to raise them together.
It was a great show!! Had lots of seasons & Tia and Tamera got involved with the writing later on. I hope you watch 17 Again!! That’s another great movie of their that I saw on Disney as a kid 😂 & it has their little brother Tahj Mowry another child star as well ❤
I loved this DCOM as a kid. The scene at the end where the camera is spinning around the sisters is still so good. And their delivery of "my sister" was just so good that you could tell that they truly meant it.
I haven't seen this movie since ..middle school, what a throwback

@@samandmariachannel yeah if you remember. Disney Channel use to have Halloween Movie Marathons the whole month of October. This series and The Halloween Town Series were my favs.
@kbaelay2125 We didn't have a direct Disney channel, we had Disney channel shows and movies on our channels in Ukraine, so I'm not familiar with Halloween marathons as they were. I do get the idea though, and we had our own Halloween movie month kind of thing. I love those. I'm very much a give me spooky person 😄 Haven't checked out Halloweentown yet - Maria

I’ve loved this movie since I was a kid!!! The CGI hasn’t aged well and some of the dialogue is corny, but I still adore it. I’m glad you guys enjoyed it too!

I watch this movie every Halloween and every time I get in the mood to watch my favorite movie
I couldn't get behind this movie when it first came out because it was soo different from the books. Interesting to see it again now all of these years later.

@@samandmariachannel It's a pretty decent DCOM. Also helps that I can't remember any of the book series' plotlines anymore 😆
Same; I remember being perturbed, at the time the movie came out, but I only remember the movie(s) now~^.^
Very much in the same boat! They changed the plot to do the more cookie-cutter good vs. evil/light vs. darkness, and erased so many characters (the most egregious thing for me is changing Karsh from a super elderly scary-looking man and Ileana's sweet-hearted guardian into her sarcastic same-aged love interest, and her from extremely vain and still having her own growing to do into this bubbly schtick- they also did similar to Camryn and Beth in turning them into valley girl stereotypes at the start).
But one thing this reaction did excellently is focusing on the positives of the messaging that they did do in this adaptation and the compressed character arcs they did for the movie characters, and that is something that made the movie worthwhile even though it deviates from the books. Sam and Maria made an incredibly enjoyable watch.

if you're open to watching more early 2000s Dcoms then next after twitches 2 I'd suggest watching the halloweentown series:Halloween Town; Hallowentown 2 Calabar's revenge; Halloweentown High: and Return to halloweentown! Some of the best early 2000's dcom's I was obsessed with watching as a child along with twitches I would watch these movies every time they came on disney's halloween month long celebration!

During the scene where Cam, played by Tamera first shows up to her party she’s being played by Tia because Tamera was busy that day shooting a different movie so Tia is playing her for like 2 mins.

I love how cameron’s parents are fine with her living with them and not just forcing her out.
And I love how Alex’s friend is super understanding of her living situation.
I guess I am tired of the BS the generations get about living with our parents and friends sometimes. It is normal, but there is a stigma around it so it is nice seeing a nice depiction of this that did go unappreciated when these movies were made.
Another DCOM pair that I really loved growing up was the movies Horse Sense and its sequel Jumping Ship; also weirdly starring famous siblings, the Lawrence brothers. Disney really liked siblings/twins....

The twitches are pretty good films for being Disney Channel originals, they do still have their floors but I definitely think they're worth watching and I highly recommend watching the second one to get more context on the backstory of this world and the beginning of the film, what happened to their father etc, I don't know if the second film is as good as this one, but I still highly recommend watching it to get more context and if you enjoyed watching this one.

I believe right there was like the center point of magic inside the castle where they cause harness it the most which gave them there strength to fight off the darkness. Hence why in the end they do the last spell there.
@samandmariachannel, Fun Fact : This movie is based on a book series composed of ten books, the first was released back in 2001, while the last was released back in 2004 !! . In the books Thantos and the girls father have another brother called Fredo, it was him that killed the twins father !!! .

If you’ve heard about Taj Mowry? He’s their brother. Tia and Tamara were on a show called “Sister, Sister”.
I remember discovering that these were based on books as a kid and was so excited. The books are quite different but obviously more middle to ya oriented, but I remember enjoying them.

Liiiike Bad Teacher, or Bride Wars, The Proposal, or Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past? Those are some of my favorites and I would love to see Maria's reaction/commentary on those movies! If you want to, I recommend cloud 9 as the next DCOM because the actor who played thantos plays dove cameron’s dad and he is a decent guy in that one.
It was jarring at first considering how many bad guys this dude played.

@@samandmariachannel I think you guys will like the sequel and have insightful critiques for it too. I have always loved the twitches movies and the Halloweentown movies I watch both series of movies to this day. Not just at Halloween but year round.
My favorite fact: the exterior shots of Camryn's mansion in "Twitches" feature the same home that was used for Regina George's in "Mean Girls" (2004).

Which lord? There are an estimated ten thousand religions in the world, some of which are polytheistic, so you need to specify... Also, I want to point out that in the Christian Bible (which I assume is where you got the lord's name in vain thing from) the lord means the name of the deity which in Christianity is Yahweh. For instance, saying "oh my god" is not taking the lord's name in vain since god is a title, not a name. No one in the video said the name Yahweh so no one took the name of the deity you believe in in vain... One last thing, the other comment points out, not everyone believes what you do or has to.
