Last week, I was on IG and saw a hair product made with Marshmallow Root and Slippery Elm. For years, I have drank herbal teas. Found your video and ordered the teas. I had to wait for the marsh tea, but made the slippery elm a couple of days ago and used it on my hair. Right now making a mixture of both teas. My hair has a curl definition that I have never seen before. TY for helping me save hundreds of dollars.
I made it w/o the carrier oils. My butter I make for hair and body is enough oil. I just used patchouli and ylang ylang essential oils and 1 tsp of aloe vera juice bottled to adjust ph. Ph went to 4.5-5. Great and natural addition. Thanks.
You're supremely gorgeous in every single way and you have such a sweet voice and your hair look is on point♥️️♥️️♥️️♥️️❤️❤️❤️❤️💖💖💖💕💕💕💕💕💕❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️💟💟💟💓💓💓👍👍👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
Mountain rose herbs sells a wildcrafted version. Basically wildcrafted means that it's grown by us, but in it's natural environment and allowed to reproduce. It's much more sustainable to buy wildcrafted herbs!
Hi beautiful! I know this video is from a year ago but you mentioned that you have been using this leave-in for a while now. Do you use this in combination with the flaxseed gel or you alternate them?
When are you going to start selling these great products you make? Can’t wait to get them 😻 it seems easy enough but I would rather get them from you. 🥰
✱ An important tip I forgot to mention, make sure you use slippery elm bark instead of powder, it makes every step of the DIY 1000 times easier, trust me. You can find the exact marshmallow root + slippery elm I used in the video here ⬇ *All herbs are sustainably & ethically sourced* bit.ly/3jZwhXW ● Marshmallow Root bit.ly/3wbzmJp ● Slippery Elm Bark bit.ly/3mDR8lm This leave in conditioner is so effective for hydration & adding unbeatable slip. It is suited for any and ALL HAIR TYPES! Everything else I used can be found in the description box above 💜
@@rml3089 YES!!! Using the powder version yielded the same result for me as well. The bark version makes it easier to extract the mucilage without all the flaky residue.
I recently made and used the leave in conditioner I really like it but my hair is dry at the ends still I . I am in the process of fixing my dry frizzy hair so I know it will take time but could I use this conditioner each day on my ends without wetting the hair
Mark the date that you made it on the bottle and store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to use. It usually expires within two weeks after you made it. Also, if it has gone bad it will have a really bad smell. 🤢
Hi! Can you get the thickness/gooey nature of it with just boiling the marshmellow root without the slippery elm? All I have is marshmellow root and I'd love to try it with just that.
Can I replace the elm with flaxseeds? I assume the benefit of the elm is for thickness and slip. I’m trying to go natural but also keep costs down. Thank you in advance. I really want to try this recipe out.
If you switch the elm out for flaxseeds it will have less of a moisturizing effect and a firm hold. The slippery elm is pure moisture and creates really great slip. It all depends on what you're going for ❣️
@@LotusFlowerLife oh I see, I’ll have to bare that in mind. Also, I’m based in the U.K. and find it difficult to find the elm bark all i am finding is the powder. Will I get the same effect with the powder?
The powder does have the same effect but it is a powder so I found when I used it that way it left a grainy texture in my hair. You can try straining it several times to get the smoothest texture possible.
@@LotusFlowerLife Ohh no.. I just bought the slippery elm in powder form at the store. I never find out slippery elm root. If I put only Marsmallow roots, should it be find ? Thanks
Any easy way to preserve it is to put it in a silicone ice cube tray and freeze it. When your ready to use it pop out the amount you need defrost overnight in the fridge and it's ready to use. It is safe to use this way up to 6 months, hope this helps.
Hello my love! If you can't find it locally I would recommend buying online go.magik.ly/ml/1k3s3/ Iherb is one of my favorite places to source ingredients I can't find in person & they also ship internationally. If they don't ship directly to your country I'd recommend replacing the marshmallow root with more slippery elm instead. It won't come out the same BUT it will still hydrate your curls. Hope this helps 💜

thank you for this beautiful video. in France I find slippery elm only in powder. is it possible to make the recipe with. if yes how many spoons? thank you so much. Sorry by my bad english . 😍😍😍
That's usually an indication that it wasn't simmering long enough. Stove top heat can vary, so you may need to cook yours for a little bit longer. Hope this helps 🤗
All these natural hair models always have “ good hair” so of course the product is going to work on their already curly hair it’s false advertising and it’s discrimination if you ask me show the real sistas with kinky hair using these products makes me so angry

Slippery Elm is now an endangered tree due to over harvesting. Marsh mallow is super easy to grow or is readily available to purchase!
Do you know any good replacements?
Now I feel bad 😔 for purchasing this

@@LotusFlowerLife! I Have Leftover Do I Put It In The Fridge Or Can it Be Left Out In The Cabinet?
@@rosaliaruiz5129 hi 💕! It def needs to be put in the fridge to preserve it for two weeks. 🙆🏽♀️

Hi! do you put this leave in conditioner onto wet or damp hair after washing? this recipe is amazing thank you 😊
Thank you my love 🤗, I apply to wet hair.
I love your videos it’s like watching mini movie it engages all the senses. Keep doing these great videos!
I read that marshmallow root has a lot of protein in it. Do you think I can develop protein overload by using this leave in every day ?
I use it once every 7 days for my wash and go. I have not experienced any protein overload with my hair, my curls are also protein sensitive. 💕
Loved this video! Thanks for sharing❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Love your hair; the results very beautiful
Your channel is a dreamboat
Tried it myself, the answer is yes!! Woohoo!

Do you have a page or book to find these recipes in a written format??
Can you use powder or either instead???
At tge momdnt i only gave slippery elm.powder. Can i mix it with water first then add to. Msrshmellow root to boil?

I love your video. This is my first video and I literally just subscribed. Love this topics. You are so beautiful and so is your hair
That makes me so happy, welcome to the fam beautiful one!
Lovely video⭐i definitely need this for my twists and braids
Thank you! It leaves my hair so healthy 👏🏽🙌🏽

What's the shelf life?
1-2 Weeks in the fridge
Could you add Optiphen Plus to this to preserve it?
I haven't used a broad spectrum preservative for this recipe yet but you can give it a try and let me know how it goes.
Can I use this together with flax seed gel?
Absolutely 🤗
Do you have a recipe for regular conditioner or will this take care of both?
This recipe can be used for both
Is there a way to preserve this for longer like you did in the flaxseed gel video? Can I use the same preservative?
Optiphen plus should work for this recipe as well.
Okay, thank you!
Hi! Can you get the thickness/gooey nature of it with just boiling the marshmellow root without the slippery elm? All I have is marshmellow root and I'd love to try it with just that.
Hi :), it won't be as thick. It will have more of a serum like consistency but it is just as bomb for keeping moisture levels in your hair A1

You can use a broad spectrum preservative.
How long can you keep this and does it need to be refrigerated?

Do I store this in the fridge or can I leave it on the counter?
The fridge for 1 week then toss it ❤️
I bought Slippery Elm powder by accident. 😩 It definitely did not come out the same. Any suggestions?
