This era of Flaming Lips videos gives me insane nostalgia for the 90's. More than anything else. Because the videos (George's work?) don't have fancy sets or production... just real life 90's stuff especially if you're from OKC and were part of the scene when the Lips represented all of us in Oklahoma. So good.
Part of me is sad i rarely hear this song around anymore. I love all the Lips i’ve heard, but this song specifically is top-tier for me
God, I miss this time in music so much.
That's the best part about living in the future - you know what's good from the past and you can curate your life to celebrate it.
@@DKGifford19608 I like this concept.
Good dayz
My favourite album by the Lips
@@agentblackacid Agreed.
I really loved the era with Ronald Jones on guitar. He added an edge that was lost and really made a difference in the band's success and visibility in my opinion.
Steven Drozd killing it.
Huge drum sound.
There’s a feeling of overwhelming joy I get when I listen to The Flaming Lips that is intense. Like I was there too.
I'm so happy to hear this! Music is quite a strong mood enhancer. Nothing but delirious joy coming from The Flaming Lips.
I feel like this and Beck's "Loser" are the two most "90s" music videos in existence. Awesome.
if you like this you might like my brothers music. His name is Stu Morris, she has a car is a good song by him.,.
Beck's also INSANELY talented. Amazing discography
Caught them live back in the 90's. What a HIGH energy show! Loved it and will never forget it! Few can compare...
Ahhh the Xmas lights everywhere 😍
Saw them in a tiny club in '94 or '95 in Deep Ellum in Dallas with Xmas lights everywhere and on everyone with a bubble machine filling the room.
It was blissful. Damn those were some good times...
It was either Trees or the Orbit room or the Galaxy Club, but it was probably Trees.
@@randydillonart It was Trees. There was a skinny kid (probably on PCP) that took on 3 300 pound bouncers outside the venue before the concert began. God I miss the 90's!!!
@@randydillonart There is still nothing like a Flaming Lips show. I was at OU starting in late 1995, and I missed the Dallas and OKC shows, which were the last 'Lips playing actual instruments' shows until 1999 or 2000. I kick myself daily for missing the opportunity to see them with Ronald Jones.
Saw them in Portland in 97ish and they had about 10,000 Xmas lights hardwired to a guitar pedal. No lights were on, then ALL of the lights were ON. Amazing moment...
They have some great songs. 90s Flaming Lips rock!
I've been listening to Flaming lips for almost 30 years and i never get tired of cd.You guys made ours life's better.Long life to the 🔥👄.Greetings from Puerto Rico
if you like this you might like my brothers music. His name is Stu Morris, she has a car is a good song by him.,.
@@karlmorris-xz6iq thanks my friend, I'm going to look at ...
part of me just flys away on a happy tangent every time I hear this
God Steven Drozd is such an amazing musician!!!! Listen to those drums!!!!
if you like this you might like my brothers music. His name is Stu Morris, she has a car is a good song by him.,.
Yes ! I always felt like he was the backbone of the lips!
Still sounds righteous ❤
Man, still sounds good
Michael went off on a diamond heist with the rest of the Reservoir Dogs after finishing playing bass for this music video.
Mr Bleached
Running away with the roses. Too. 🙏
I need to find more bananas for my root beer. Too. 😎
Fur reels playa lol
He must of been Mr. Beige
Saw them open for Tool around 94 or so (Undertow tour) been a fan ever since.
Same here! Varsity arena in Toronto. Broke my hand during the opening band Failure and still stayed and tripped well 😁😁
Fan ever since! Sooo long ago eh!?!
Great job on the Tool as well sir!!!
@@ericgrimey4792 Too funny! I saw the same tour in Cleveland. It was during a weird era when concert promoters thought it would be good to introduce different music styles to various genres. I was a fan of (still am) the Lips and Tool. But it was interesting to watch the Tool fans (total metal fans) try to boo the Lips off the stage with bubbles in the air when they opened. But, yeah. A long time ago indeed.
Barry Stanton Lips and Tool... 🎼🎼🎼memories🎼🎼🎼
Both, simply incredible bands.
🤙🏼🤙🏼🙏🙏
Stay well as possible Barry! 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
@@ericgrimey4792 You too, man!
Lucky. Saw tool on that tour with gi Joe. Good, but no flaming lips
Why can't they play fun stuff like this anymore ? This is great. Take a step back guys.
jerry murphy Cause' their guitar player Ronald Jones fell off the face of the earth
jerry murphy, they need to get back to learning how to play and write melodies. Now, all they play is noise. Maybe they are just burnt out. It happens to all the best groups. They just don't seem to have any real inspiration left after Yoshimi.
Maybe they need to drop some acid again ;)
@@jasonmeadows4075 definitely
Jason Meadows Go ahead and listen to At War With the Mystics Again, and if you still want more beautiful melodies, fantastic songwriting, and innovative production, listen to The King’s Mouth. Both came after Yoshimi and both are Top 5 Flaming Lips records
I want the 90s back. Today sucks
seen them at the double door in Chicago do this whole album ...good acid
I love this song. Michelle is such a cutie.
I miss the 90's.
So do I. Music was great, cloths were comfortable and the drugs...
lol
Jennifer yeah....
We all do
Oh, how I miss those days!
Eu amo essa música. O universo foi criado para essa MÚSICA existir. Lips, eu amo vcs🐶😘
we know we will get what we pay for, with you guys! Always a pleasure, thank you!
2nd favorite tune on Transmissions next to Slow Nerve Action. Great LP! Fun video! I see Wayne's wife's in this one.
It's all a waste of time again!
I just love this beautiful band. I was very surprised by their varied albums
The Lips deserved to get the worldwide acclaim and success in the mid 90's after 'Transmissions' and 'Clouds Taste Metallic', but it didn't come for another 5 years
The Soft Bulletin/Yoshimi years were good, but the years of Priest/Clouds/Transmissions/HIt to Death were just absolute magic.
if you like this you might like my brothers music. His name is Stu Morris, she has a car is a good song by him.,.
Best stuff since Clouds Taste Metallic
@Jack Butler ikr lol
Is this the best line-up?
I miss Ronald with them.
Steven on drums is great.
I think this is the best line-up.
Their earlier stuff is definitely my favorite too. None of their stuff after this record ever had the same impact on me, cuz they stopped doing the awesome Dinosaur Jr-esque guitar noise freakouts in their songs.
I remember when Wayne stopped playing guitar at shows and started playing sock puppets. Took me a long time to get over the fact that the Lips I once knew were gone and not coming back.
I was about to comment how it was great to see this line-up and to see Michelle! Then I saw I already made a similar comment last year. LOL.
@@mikem3779He still plays guitar at shows. I don't know what you're on about
@@predeterminedmeat5024 I saw them twice this year. Wayne played guitar for 0 seconds. Think he's more focused on singing and hype man. He lets the band do their job as he does his.
World's best music right in the 90's, music in the 2000's suck!
OMG!! i LOVED THIS BAND!
Me too.
Love the lips!
when you ain't got no relation to all those other stations.
This song is part of my daily playlist..amazing!
These guys are still always so fun!!!
lovely! we were young and fools.. no less than now :)
I saw them a lot in Deep Elum in Dallas Texas. Never knew there was a video. Ok,I admit, I was pretty wasted back in the 90s.
love it this is good, music the way it should be, takes back round to some awesome days
I didn't figure out the Lips for far too long...Not sure how I fucked that up and there are some regrets. But having that light go on was an epic experience and one I will never forget. Much love.
soundtrack to my life
OMFG THANK YOU!
This is my happy song :-)
I miss the 90s:(
victor vigil. The Lips are still making great music! Lol!
But yeah, I miss the 90's too...
We can make it happen again.
I shed tears for the 90s.
I hear ya.....
I have aways said, the 90's were my 60's..... And I still stand by that... Such a FLOOD of new and original music and art..... I grew up in early/mid 70's BTW.
I am always returning, I don’t have a television, can’t really be bothered with the radio unless it’s a show I wanna listen to. This is it for me so many thanks! X
"Love & a .45" brought me here!
now that's a name i haven't heard in... well, a long time
Just finished watching it amazing film
Everything they have done is amazing. The Soft Bulletin is the shit
I recently watched the film titled, "Promotion" from 2008 and I heard this song at the end of the movie. I recognized the vocals right away. Very cool song and video to boot!
This song made me buy this album cause I kept missing it on the call in channel (lol can't remember it now with out check-in the VHS tapes) I just wanted The album cause it kept coming on the playlist lol.
The Box?
Cadê os brasileiros que curtem o The Flaming Lips?
br porra
Damn, music was so much better in the 90s. Not just the rock and roll but hip hop as well
A perfect funeral song. Catchy as hell.
I saw the Flips live a few weeks ago and it seems like Wayne got some lessons, he sounds amazing!
Adoro oa guitarra dessa banda! Lindo!!!
I wish I'd known they were putting these out at the time. Saw them a a couple festivals and that was about it. Love these guys.
Saw them this tour... Lights on everything and everyone.
I've not heard this before. I didn't discover the lips until the soft bulletin, but this has opened my eyes. Are there any other lips tracks with brilliant music and tall blonde women in the video? This is a world of discovery!!
One of the Best Rock And Roll Videos Ever Made.
Great f'n band
Holding out for a show this Tuesday...damn covid!!! N
This is a good song and fun video. 👍

Ohhhh, the 90s.

I so desperately want this to be our National Anthem. 😛
Listening to this at 2/3 volume.

No matter how low life gets, this song is always here to make it better.
This burns in my brain! ❤
Hey if you like The Flaming Lips should look up The Doublejumps
1st time I heardm was on Love and a 45. Wow, American Head is awesome & their other stuff 2!
It’s hard to be sad when you listen the The Flaming Lips
You obviously have not listened to the terror album
@@kidkique Sad song make me happy. The Terror is a Top 5 for me
This band so fucking crazy they album so fucking many but i like it so very underated
Just took me back 30 years straight to High School, Miami FL 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍻🍻🍻
Gotta love 💘the flips
This band kicks ass they need more exposure
Lol... Just ... Lol. Yes, this scrappy young band, I hope that some day they get their big break. I'm sorry, no offense, and I might just be drunk, but can I ask what your motivations were when you posted this?
Ha! I was a film student in college in Norman back then, and the only one small enough (although I'm 6') to fit into the dryer, to op the Bolex for those "throws clothes into dryer" scenes. Becky, Emma and Michelle stole the show.
BEST BAND, EVER.
God bless the '90s!
Wayne is so gotdang handsome! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Hey if you like The Flaming Lips should look up The Doublejumps
This era was so much fun!
if you like this you might like my brothers music. His name is Stu Morris, she has a car is a good song by him.,.
Ah the good days of The Flaming Lips when music was brilliant and so different. Miss this band though I think they still do tours now and again don't they?
+Varden Longraf yup, they still make music too but the last good thing they released was 2009...
Ah I thought they did just really stopped following em as close after they had a few of those terrible albums for a while there at the end of the later part of the 90s thought they lost the steam in those years they had earlier
Varden Longraf not a fan of the Soft Bulletin? To each his own. It's my favorite album of theirs. I do understand though you just prefer the more guitar driven stuff that was there when Ronald was still a part of the band.
This was the pinnacle era. They started to decline not long after this.
this is a great song i almost forgot about.
I love it so.much
The first sing I listened to after graduation 1993
The 89 people who disliked this cant turn this on
Im crying
To me this is Flaming Lips w Ronald Jones. I don't care how many Grammys they won afterwards.
I I loved growing up in the 90s , Flaming Lips , Sublime of course and of Green Day
Yup yup yup
Me too. And I was in my 20's in the 90's. Now I'm just the creepy, old, bearded dude in the laundromat.
Johmathan .B. Swift 1q 3
I love all three bands too.
Jabba's Palace Green Day is like the Nickleback of punk
This video is so 1993. It's like a window in time back to the early '90s.
very underrated band #Portlandia
When I see people say "90's rock was just depressing"...I point to this video and say to them "What the fuck are you talking about?"
Laundromat chicks are where it's at, daddy-o.
This vid sure makes me need to wash some clothers ;)
pretty sure the one in red is Wayne's ex wife
♫ La chanson du jour de ce dimanche par The Flaming Lips. Joyeux anniversaire à tous ceux qui sont nés un 27 novembre 😉🎉🎂
It cost $3500 in quarters to make this video.
חחח😂😂😂
Good to know someone counted it too. 😊
😂😂😂
My friend Kristin knows the lead singer and said he's the coolest guy on the planet!!!! I love these guys!!!! Punk rock isnt dead it's just in its 50s and 60s !!!!! Shout out to all you gen xers.
This video is so bad ass. So were the consumables...you could trust them then.
People don't get it but Wayne purposely sang "poorly." He has said he wanted to come off as someone who isn't necessarily any good, but they're trying their hardest. That's what I get when I hear him. he's making a point that "I'm trying."
This is basically a documentary of the mid 1990s
YOURE BASICALLY A MORON
@@vnessa33Thank you for your opinion.
everyone is too great to make me feel where do we go now just be great that's it
Yes, yes, oh yes...
