Great video, as always. Congratulations on the work! In some of your previous videos (for example, Riquelme, De Jong, Redondo), it was clear to me that you have the sensibility to recognize these extreme cases where players are enhanced by having more freedom on the field. Thus, I think it would be interesting to discuss some examples of famous players who could benefit from a relational style of play. Regarding analyses of retired players: in several videos, you mentioned Pirlo, and I believe he would be an excellent subject. From an arsenal fan… I think you’ve been fair in this analysis. Not gonna lie I was kinda expecting you to tell us he was insane. He’s very good but it’s more about the impact he will have for United than how good he is.
Your work is phenomenal. One thing I personally would like to see more when I'm watching your videos is more comparisons to other players. You compared some, but it would really put statistics in perspective if you could say, "he is exception at this, I comparison, these players in this position have these stats, and some Legends of the game has these stats". Just so there's more information that allows the viewer to mentally place the player in question in a mental graph. But again, probably the what tactical reports I've seen on RUclips as they're detailed but not dragged out. Plenty of example clips, clear explanations and simple terms. All the success to you bro I'd love to see a Bruno Frenanades tactical report 💪
Good video. Hopefully not too many blunders in his early starts so he can keep the media/pundits off his back I don't think we're expecting to sign a starting CB. If Maguire leaves we'd need to buy a direct replacement though and Disasi is the name that's been mentioned most
Glad to be the first 😁 Expecting a banger as always. EDIT : After watching the video, I'm more sure that he's got an error in him like kepa yet I do believe that kepa is a better keeper than him. Tremendously good video as always 🖤
Do bare in mind that I've only ever watched the Martinez video, before we signed him, and literally everything you said in that video was exactly how he played when he got here. The only oversight being "height disadvantages will hurt him in a more physical league". But it's what I thought too and you weren't the only one. Martinez proved us wrong with that but everything else was literally 100% spot on. It's a shame you don't do more videos. The amount of research that goes into them is probably a limitation and quality is definitely better than quantity.
@@victorkreig6089onana is a better passer, better with the ball but de gea is a better shotstopper and one of the best gks of the last decade. If you disagree you lack football IQ.
I would've liked to see "unforced errors" covered as well. You said that De Gea is better in pure goalkeeping sense, but DDG was famous for silly errors that would turn a 0.1 XG in a goal.
de gea was good for ONE season as a shot stopper, since 2018 his shot stopping has literally been average with his numbers looking like they do purely because clubs had so many attempts at our goal that he basically stat padded I mean look at his numbers for this past season, he was personally responsible for 18 goals against the club. Yet his stats were huge because of how much access opposition had to him in the first place most of which was due to how often he just gave away the ball
@@victorkreig6089 ok. I know all that, you don't need to explain it to me for two reasons - I know it and what I commented has absolutely nothing to do with what you're blabbing about. Let me try and clear it for you since it's evident you have trouble doing it on your own. The person who posted this video (the one that is talking in it, you can hear his voice, aka Pythagorass in Boots) said that DDG was beter than Onana in pure goalkeeping sense. So I challenged him to compare unforced errors of both keepers. As unforced errors are part of every football player and the less the better. Do you understand now? :)
Very good analysis on the Flimsy hands of Onana, and very good observation on his positioning during shots , and how he is better at saving near post. I think the PL opponents will study this and then advise their attackers. However Onana ball distribution and ball handling is just miles better than DDG, this is an important fundamental attacking build up by ETH
It seems like majority of the footage of Onana's errors circulating on youtube are from his earlier career days up till Ajax, so there's a good chance he has improved during his time at Inter. Nonetheless the overriding factor in his likely transfer to Man Utd would be Erik Ten Hag, who will definitely know everything about his new GK and would be the perfect coach for him to take his game to the next level.
It definitely is, he will play even better than he did at Ajax and Inter as neither team have the same level of quality that United do. Ajax were so good under Ten Hag because he managed to get them to basically be as fluid as a symphony so they were very VERY hard to keep the ball from and their stamina would wear the opposition down. I am still very mad that we didn't take back Blind, such an amazing versatile player
Inter plays a deep lying back five defense. That meana he faces less shots. He will be exposed to more shots at united. I can't wait for the disaster he will unleash on that team. Maguire will look like an angel in comparison.
@@jmphuhuck9735 he will not be exposed to more shots at United as United's back line is better than Inter's He also played way less matches this past season which is why his numbers aren't crazy
He is still developing. Like van der Sar did. Getting better with age and experience. Ten Hag knows him very well. All the ingredients for a great season!
I wonder how much more highly rated would Barthez be in the modern game. He was great with the ball at his feet, which was just seen - and rightly to- as a liability back then - to such an extent that it took away from his shot stopping abilities (which were excellent)
Could you do a video on Jackson? As a Chelsea fan, I’m not convinced he’s the one and think he’s just a panic buy after one purple patch. Who would you recommend for us too?
@@PythagorasinBoots not a good sign then hahaha, all I ask for is that he’s better than Lukaku or Werner and that’s not hard! As much as I rate Lukaku generally and think he was at his best at Everton where he looked complete..that transfer hasn’t worked out for a multitude of reasons. Hoping that the reports are true where we want Toney and he wants us, not ideal waiting until January of course but I think he could be the missing piece in the puzzle for the next five/six years or so before the new generation comes along. I’ve wanted him for a long time, even after they came up I was wondering if we should take a punt on him and since then, he’s more than proven himself at premier league level!
Wish the best for a boy from Cameroon. Like many African boys from a small Cameroon village, soccer was a way out of poverty. I hope he will continue to develop. I know Onana likes to dribble the ball. He has gotten into trouble with his unconventional habit of using his feet instead of his hands inside the penalty area. Some Premiere League (PL) fans have expressed concerns about his dribbling inside the penalty box area. Many PL fans have expressed that PL attackers will make Onana pay for too much footwork inside the penalty area. I hope that will not be the case. Good luck to Onana (the Cameroon Lion) and much success when he rejoins his old Ajax Coach Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
Good work as always. Only critique from me is you did make reference to Varane's speed as a liability multiple times in this video. Varane is the fastest CB at United, he's certainly a faster sprinter than Lisandro Martinez. He's not getting replaced due to lack of speed anytime soon, he just needs to stay healthy.
@@thebiglebrowski3695 lol, what specific stat(s) make him a liability? Varane is far from a liability. If he were a liability they'd be looking for a replacement right now. Maguire is a liability. Lisandro & Varane were very instrumental in that golden glove for United last season.
@@PythagorasinBoots agreed on Lisandro being the future, no doubt... he's the present & the future, lol. A lot of Varane's stats were down last season because Lisandro is such a great footballer. On the Kim topic, MUFC couldn't guarantee Kim a starting spot over Varane (he would have needed to displace him during the season) which is why it was an easy decision for Kim to go with Bayern when they came calling. Varane still has a couple of good years left IMO, hopefully he stays healthy now he's retired from international football.
Content idea! Once the market is closed you should make players analysts on future legends. For example, how good is Modric, Kante, KDB, etc, etc compared to some of footballs greatest ever legends (same positions).
Great video! Can you analyse Keylor Navas. I always considered him underrated although his reflexes seemed impressive to me. How does his Real Madrid performances compare to Courtois?
Great video as always, kudos to the team! Chels fan here and thinking we may have dodged a bullet and potentially opened the doors up for a gem.
Allison used to do a lot of this. It looks ok when it works but in the PL the pressing is more intense than Italy and keepers are more likely to get caught out. If keepers play around with the ball outside the area it’s just a matter of time before they make a costly mistake.
@@ejcp4201 exactly my point. Even Allison and Ederson have had to change the way they play. They pace and pressing on the PL won’t give him much time to relax on the ball
he is a good distributor, calm in pressing situation, very good at long passess..he is a very modern keeper...David was superior in 1v1 situation and stopping long shots.. He improves not just the saves but adds a lot to the game play..he is having an extra player in the build-up to the game...
One thing that Man United has generally done well at is coaching keepers shot-stopping ability. Richard Hartis is Head Goalkeeping Coach, right now and whilst he might not be the progressive, sweeper coach that EtH would like, I think that as far as Onana's weaknesses are concerned, he's in good hands, so to speak.
Dude real big fan of your channel 👏. Could you do a Kai Havertz video for us please 🙏 your very brief and yet at the same time very concise . I hope he turn out to a good player just don't see how though
Make one about Vini Jr. Most underated player of the world... Like, the man is the best player in Real Madrid e NO ONE TALK ABOUT... The guy has 23... Is Unreal
I was with you until you said "Lisandro being in a doubt of the team with injuries". Last season he was pretty solid until a long term serious injury put him out of commission for the last month. That injury happened due to a bad tackle on him. Until that point he was pretty consistent.
This was very well put and I have to say I agree with most of it. I had a clue he was more comfortable on the ball and if thats what ETH wants he will get. Truth is De gea even at his floppiest last season, won the gold glove with games to spare. Which is why i feel they should have kept him even as a 2. The ball playing of Onana will translate well to the prem, the question is what about the rest?
One thing is Inter tactics create to eliminate all of his weakness, when casual saw his flawless UCL Final performance they didn't realize Onana need 3 months in the bench before get #1 place pick in League while he only start on ucl match in that period. Then need another 3 month + world cup break for Inzaghi to create tactic which suit for everyone including Onana. Can see this will be another Lukaku x Chelsea story, when they force him to approach different tactic then failed badly. At this point, can't see Onana style could work with United defense line, pairing him with such as AWB, Varane, Licha and shaw could be a disaster and I don't even mention Maguire.
Please make one about michael olise now that hes rumoured going to either man city or chelsea. As a chelsea fan i would like to see an analysis of him.
Great content. Anyway do you ever got copyright claimed or strike for using matches footage on youtube ? If it happens how to solve it and avoid it ? please help me answer it. Thank you bro
It happens a lot. Trial error in replacing content, can be an arduous task, some leagues are more strict than others. They are all being freely marketed so I don't know why. Video games don't have this issue yet people still buy them in droves & they'd still watch matches in their droves.
@@PythagorasinBoots so what happened was a strike or a claimed content ? Did it turn off monitization in that clip ? Can you tell me what league usually do copyright claim ? He's younger than Arda Guler by 3 days... he'll be older than him by the time I do the video 😅 (planning to release it for around the time he joins in January).
The weaknesses that have been mentioned can be ironed out with proper coaching, and I hope he receives that. De Gea needed coaching too, he was more raw when he arrived at United than Onana. I hope ETH and the GK coaching team iron out the flaws in Onana and turn him into a more rounded GK like Alisson or Ter Stegen for example.
You need to do a video on Mathys Tel. Great young player imo but want to hear your opinion on him as not too many people are talking about him right now
Unlike de gea he is vocal and a strong leader in between the post , the only thing de gea does better is shot stopping which Onana will most likely face less shots because of good build up and sweeping,
Good analysis. I'm a bit concerned that he punches long balls a lot...sometimes in the direction of his opponents. His pass distribution as a goalkeeper is great though.
If you do any more legends analysis, I would love to see Andriy Shevchenko vid. Won a Ballon d'or but when I look back I can't think what type of forward he was. Did he have any signature moves? You look at compilations of him finishing with either foot and not just from inside the box.
Unfortunately not- takes too much time & resources for the love (or there lack of) that they get. In future yes & might switch some to a more analytical format rather than a documentary vibe to make it even easier (unless the characters they were off the pitch makes them deserving of a doc like episode).

Dont see him for what he is doing but for what he will become. Most of the issues you spoke about him having are really solvable though training
Great video and so far everything you said has been pretty accurate. He’s probably been more error prone than anyone anticipated
From an arsenal fan… I think you’ve been fair in this analysis. Not gonna lie I was kinda expecting you to tell us he was insane. He’s very good but it’s more about the impact he will have for United than how good he is.
exactly the video we needed, thanks pal
Your work is phenomenal.
One thing I personally would like to see more when I'm watching your videos is more comparisons to other players. You compared some, but it would really put statistics in perspective if you could say, "he is exception at this, I comparison, these players in this position have these stats, and some Legends of the game has these stats". Just so there's more information that allows the viewer to mentally place the player in question in a mental graph. But again, probably the what tactical reports I've seen on RUclips as they're detailed but not dragged out. Plenty of example clips, clear explanations and simple terms.
All the success to you bro
I'd love to see a Bruno Frenanades tactical report 💪
Ten Haag knows what he's doing, he knows Onana well and he is the keeper we need right now
One A
Ten haag Forget but maguirrrrrre 😢
Lmao 😂😂😂
Hahahahah
Good video. Hopefully not too many blunders in his early starts so he can keep the media/pundits off his back
I don't think we're expecting to sign a starting CB. If Maguire leaves we'd need to buy a direct replacement though and Disasi is the name that's been mentioned most
I'd like Silva next season
Dessai just looks fit for a high press team
@@moekhan6842 lol he is worse than maguire :D
Man united defense is porous, so he will make some blunders due to pressure from players like maguire 😂😂😂
@@ronaldchulu7282Maguire looks like he’ll leave, and Onana will be near Martinez his mate from Ajax!
have never seen something like that your analysis is just up to world class pro thank you for it 70+
Glad to be the first 😁
Expecting a banger as always.
EDIT : After watching the video, I'm more sure that he's got an error in him like kepa yet I do believe that kepa is a better keeper than him.
Tremendously good video as always 🖤
Thanks for watching!
Excellent and very detailed video👏🏾 keep up the good work.
I think it's time to review this video and make an updated version of his analysis
Amazing video chefs kiss❤
Do bare in mind that I've only ever watched the Martinez video, before we signed him, and literally everything you said in that video was exactly how he played when he got here. The only oversight being "height disadvantages will hurt him in a more physical league". But it's what I thought too and you weren't the only one. Martinez proved us wrong with that but everything else was literally 100% spot on. It's a shame you don't do more videos. The amount of research that goes into them is probably a limitation and quality is definitely better than quantity.
Nkono was a beast man
Great work and extensive knowledge 👏
Wow man thank you 🙏
Your analysis made this very very enjoyable! The bar has raised and these tv analysts are very very outdated! Thanks again!
Nah, we’re not expecting a prime De gea. But he’s decent with shot stopping and he’ll improve our ability on the ball.
prime de gea still couldn't pass to save his life
He is better than de gea period
@@victorkreig6089onana is a better passer, better with the ball but de gea is a better shotstopper and one of the best gks of the last decade. If you disagree you lack football IQ.
@@arrow2380onana legit is a better shot stopper last season. He had a higher saving percentage than De gea
I would've liked to see "unforced errors" covered as well. You said that De Gea is better in pure goalkeeping sense, but DDG was famous for silly errors that would turn a 0.1 XG in a goal.
De Gea declined
de gea was good for ONE season as a shot stopper, since 2018 his shot stopping has literally been average with his numbers looking like they do purely because clubs had so many attempts at our goal that he basically stat padded
I mean look at his numbers for this past season, he was personally responsible for 18 goals against the club.
@@pavl3n😅
Onana's passing stats are much better than De Geas so this makes sense.
Very unbiased analysis. I like it
Thanks Frank
This is a great video to know Onana who is now Man utd's future saver
Very good analysis on the Flimsy hands of Onana, and very good observation on his positioning during shots , and how he is better at saving near post.
I think the PL opponents will study this and then advise their attackers.
However Onana ball distribution and ball handling is just miles better than DDG, this is an important fundamental attacking build up by ETH
Agreed. Distribution so so important
@@jmphuhuck9735 he will not be exposed to more shots at United as United's back line is better than Inter's
He also played way less matches this past season which is why his numbers aren't crazy
He is still developing. Like van der Sar did. Getting better with age and experience. Ten Hag knows him very well. All the ingredients for a great season!
This is a top quality analysis.
Very underrated channel, bravo 👏
Glad you think so!
Wrote on twitter already that I don't rate him enough/doesn't excite me enough to make a video.
@@PythagorasinBoots that's not fair though
We all your fan/subscriber....

Brilliant video!!! 👌👌👌👌
He is a liability according to the statistics, though.
Lisandro is the future of that defence & Varane is 30 & picking up injuries & is ever getting slower, hence why Kim was linked.
Appreciate this video mate
Great content! Haven't seen similar contents on youtube.
Just a thought, you could do videos of re-review your analysis of players after a few years.
Amazing video 👍🙌👏
Great video! Can you analyse Keylor Navas. I always considered him underrated although his reflexes seemed impressive to me. How does his Real Madrid performances compare to Courtois?
From a Real Madrid fan´s view Courtois is miles better. Courtois has better ball distribution and is a better goalkeeper overall.
Great video as always, kudos to the team! I have so many players I'd like to see but can see I'm not the only one so wont bombard you 😂
That being said, any chance for some quick thoughts on Diogo Costa in comparison? Chels fan here and thinking we may have dodged a bullet and potentially opened the doors up for a gem.
Great work ... Scouting grade 100percent... I would really love you to watch the tactical analysis of Florentino Luis of benfica
Allison used to do a lot of this. It looks ok when it works but in the PL the pressing is more intense than Italy and keepers are more likely to get caught out. If keepers play around with the ball outside the area it’s just a matter of time before they make a costly mistake.
Yeah let's not rpetend like the guy was good enough for a Champions League finale against Man City(An english team).
@@NostalgiNorden so was De Gea
I actually think he'll get caught out a lot by strikers this season. He's comfortable on the ball, but too casual about making punishable mistakes.
@@ejcp4201 exactly my point. Even Allison and Ederson have had to change the way they play. They pace and pressing on the PL won’t give him much time to relax on the ball
Love the intro
Just came back after he cost us a place out of th Champions league
You lot wanted De gea out so deal with your supposedly better keeper.
Could you do a video on Rayan Cherki?
he is a good distributor, calm in pressing situation, very good at long passess..he is a very modern keeper...David was superior in 1v1 situation and stopping long shots..
He improves not just the saves but adds a lot to the game play..he is having an extra player in the build-up to the game...
great video, where did you get that player stats graphic? looks awesome
Wyscout for the listed vertical one, Whoscored for the green starred one.
Can please make a video on Antonio silva please from benfica I think he will be the next big thing
He looks good, wanted him to play in the World Cup. he'll be a Patreon exclusive as it's the Portuguese league who censor hard on youtube.

I was with you until you said "Lisandro being in a doubt of the team with injuries". Last season he was pretty solid until a long term serious injury put him out of commission for the last month. That injury happened due to a bad tackle on him. Until that point he was pretty consistent.
Great overview !

What a bum of a keeper onana is.
Superb breakdown.
Thanks.

The weaknesses that have been mentioned can be ironed out with proper coaching, and I hope he receives that. De Gea needed coaching too, he was more raw when he arrived at United than Onana. I hope ETH and the GK coaching team iron out the flaws in Onana and turn him into a more rounded GK like Alisson or Ter Stegen for example.

You need to do a video on Mathys Tel. Great young player imo but want to hear your opinion on him as not too many people are talking about him right now
God bless you please I want to use this video to tell my fans what we expect from him
Unlike de gea he is vocal and a strong leader in between the post , the only thing de gea does better is shot stopping which Onana will most likely face less shots because of good build up and sweeping,
Good analysis.
I'm a bit concerned that he punches long balls a lot...sometimes in the direction of his opponents. His pass distribution as a goalkeeper is great though.
thank you
If you do any more legends analysis, I would love to see Andriy Shevchenko vid. Won a Ballon d'or but when I look back I can't think what type of forward he was. Did he have any signature moves? You look at compilations of him finishing with either foot and not just from inside the box.
He can be a world class in 2 years , and deliver strong 8-10 years
Any classic player analysis in the works? 👀
Unfortunately not- takes too much time & resources for the love (or there lack of) that they get. In future yes & might switch some to a more analytical format rather than a documentary vibe to make it even easier (unless the characters they were off the pitch makes them deserving of a doc like episode).
