My 2007 Lucerne would stop in the middle of a road. Problem turned out to be the PCM Anti theft module. Has it replaced and keys reprogramed. Hope it will never fail again when on a highway or far away from home. Must build confidence in the car once more. do now want to get rid of it as it has been modified with a hand control.
Being the battery is under the back seat...you just poured coke and whatever else inside your car? Also, what made the terminals get nasty? Was the car in a flood or something?
You want to make sure your battery is good- 12.5. Volts... Make sure your terminals are cleaned and tight. Make sure your ground wire is connected to the frame with no corrosion. You can try hooking a wire from the frame to the neg terminal. Make sure your fuses andcrelays are good.
Had a No crank No start 2007 Lucerne CXL (72k miles). No circle around the PARK on instrument cluster. No communication to PCM(which is a ECM and TCM) / ABS module with Autel Maxisys. Cleaned grounds and installed new battery. Pulled black round plug (squeeze and pull straight out) going to transmission under MAF sensor area . Cleaned and applied dielectric grease. Started up!! Complete communication to all modules and no codes. Plug looked a little damp but nothing real obvious. Passing on the info!
My 2008 will intermittently have door locks and dash go nuts and then it won’t start unhook battery and hook up it starts works fine for a while then starts up again
I have a 2006 Lucerne and if I don't drive it every 5 days the battery gets too low to start. I have a radar detector/voltmeter in the cigarette lighter (that I turn off when I'm not driving). When it reads 10.9 volts, the car may or may not start. Today I tried to start at 10.7 volts and my voltmeter just crashed to 6.6 volts and shut off the radar detector. I tried a 15 volt capacitor jump starter gizmo but nothing happened. I tried a 12 volt battery jump (but this thing is a decade old and not 450 amps like it says on the box), and that at least trickle charged my battery and lit my interior lights; but I got to 11.5 volts after half an hour and tried to start and fell to below 6 volts in seconds. I'm gonna have to get a tow and have the garage charge me $25 to recharge the battery. But as I'm listening to your video, maybe I need a new starter. But previously I had a tow truck come around and he expected to jump the car and utterly failed; that was a year ago when the battery was a year old. The battery is under the back seat, so no tow truck will replace it. Tomorrow, I may trickle charge it enough so the interior lights come on when I open a door and the door locks work, but as soon as I try to start it and fail, I'll only see the check engine light on my dash (maybe) and nothing else will light up.
The garage likes to talk about cold cranking amps and that I need to drive for a couple hours a week to keep them up there, and if I don't, the CCA on my battery will fall too low to start the car.

Have same problem even after replacing starter on a 2010 Lucerne. Did a starter fix the issue of notcranking??
You want to make sure your battery is good- 12.5. Volts...

I had the same problem on mine, I had to replace the alternator (not an easy task) and buy a new battery.
