The"butter scoop" is actually a measuring spoon for oil. The butter actually goes on top and melts and drips on the popcorn. Try it this way and you'll get better results.

Tall men are sometimes just a little bit clumsier than average height people. I vote to cut him a bit of slack. His hands are way bigger than most of these gajicks are designed for. My husband has similar issues trying to use kitchen tools and gajicks. He’s only 6’5”, but he has hands the size of bear paws.

should throw the butter + sugar ( if you want to have sweet popcorn , and some vanilla) and popcorn in the beginning so it should be faster
The slicer that you were trying to slice cheese with most likely is made for slicing harder cheeses like parmesan.
