I bet you could get more even cooking with the egg steamer if you drilled a few tiny holes along the entire length. On the other hand, if you're cooking for six people some will prefer harder and some softer so it might be better just the way it is.
It looks cool...but to me it just isn't worth it unless in a short glass or in something with a lid....it only takes ONE busted lip to learn that. Being popped in the mouth with a heavy piece of ice isn't fun. You DO forget an upturn.

i used the industrial slicer. its for potatos and making perfect french fries.
For clear cubes. Use boiled water, let it cool for a few minuten, fill tray and put it in the freezer
