- TWO HOURS IN DEATH ZONE | Kanchenjunga Summit @8586m | International Mountain Day Special #DeathZone
We had to spend two hours at Kanchenjunga Summit at 8586m altitude on 21st May 2018. Altitudes above 8000 meters are considered death zone because the air is so thin that it gets very difficult to breathe. Air pressure and thus oxygen is one-third of what we experience at normal altitudes. Watch this video to see how a team of ONGC employees climbed the Summit of the world's third highest and India's highest peak in just eight and a half hours from Summit Camp and stayed there for two hours.

Great..huge respect for mountaineers..got the chance to visit mountaineering training centre in Darjeeling in 2020 and from there I came to know that how hard this peak is to climb compared to Mt. Everest despite being the third highest peak of the world 👍👍
