The biggest problem aside from games and manga+anime being under Sony is that it is a pro-censorship brand/company, if they actually go through and Kadokawa is bought...well they can censor or force the creators to censor their works right at source, and we have seen many examples of this...the one that made me super sad was that they censored Ciel's art in Tsukihime artbook not even the game, an art book that people paid extra cash for meanwhile Nintendo didn't...I can't believe I am saying this but I supported Nintendo naturally.
As a Canadian, I would like to formally apologize what has been coming out of this country in terms of ruining videogames. My only solace is the fact I don't live in Quebec, where said agencies for some reason are all based in.
The fact that Sony is trying to buy Kadokawa and it's not being laughed at before being rejected is very troubling. Kadokawa is one of Japan's largest publishers of Anime, Manga and novels. If Sony Japan is infected by wokeAIDS like their Playstation division is then this means Sony will be able to censor *every* IP currently under control of Kadokawa.
You can easily see where SBI touched spider-man 2. Those weren't subtle at all, the whole Miles arc was a bunch of nothing but pandering that added nothing to the story and MJ's face...
You have to give these western studios credit for the dedication they have on pushing the narrative though man. No matter how many times it’s rejected by the public, no matter how much money they lose, no matter how much is rejected by gamers and fans, they just keep pushin pushin pushin. That is some damn dedication 😂 we’re talking about multi billion dollar companies thinking a game like this and concord was going to be brand changing huge IP’s that was going to change everything!! 😂 Out of touch doesn’t even begin to describe what these companies are.
yeah, but they are burning only their side of the barn. The people of the "comunities" they are, allegedly, "representing" are getting a bad reputation thanks to them; I didn't give a damn about a character if it was black, gay or a woman. But nowadays I see one of these characters and I'm wondering if they are gonna be an obnoxious piece of work like the many others "inclusive" characters we are having
Not sure about that outside of the superficial. They steer clear of anything real world and they don't really do fan-service stuff. Dei stuff allows a little bit of fan service so the little things like the deathbed companion outfit will probably still be allowed. The characters already look a bit fucked anyway. Guess they could make it a suspiciously diverse and lacking in lighter shades characters. Don't think it'll be effected too badly though not from lack of trying they're just not a very "problematic" company to tame. You're right to be worried I am too.
@@Touma134The problem with Sony owning Fromsoft is multifaceted. To begin with the most problematic aspect of it is inclusivity. I don't think I need to remind anyone that Bloodborne to this day is still trapped on Sony hardware and I imagine if they own Fromsoft completely they will make them fully exclusive. Secondly I doubt that Sony won't push Fromsoft into DEI hiring and letting those DEI idiots run amuck whole also firing trusted and crucial employees that help shape the games into what they are. With the end results being dull narratives and DEI crap slapped into every aspect they can fit it in. E.g. the character creator, dialogue and NPCs. It's hard to see it but I remind you DEI managed to "convince" the God of War creators to add black characters in a Norse inspired game. I doubt Sony will allow Fromsoft to even think about not adding DEI into whatever they make. Plus PSN requirement on PC if anything does release there.
@@Ali-hi4xs Sony's walled garden is what worries me the most as well. I've always played on Xbox so I'd be worried that their future titles would be inaccessible to me without buying a PlayStation. It's not the end of the world or anything I guess, but I'm still concerned for it.
I love the fact these people said we are gonna burn down this industry and we as gamers without really realizing it basically said not if we torch you all first
So the reason why so much of this takes place in Canada is because Canada is the go-to place for found a studio if you're unsure if they're going to succeed or not. Start up costs are phenomenally low there, so opening one to work on a risky game or two won't involve the long-term investment that a normal studio costs. This is why so many of them seem to know each other, they're passed from start-up to start-up like cheap whores.
I made similar posts in several other videos talking about this game, but I looked up all the shows, books, and other stuff that was supposed to be part of the game. And the strange thing is: a lot of them have been out for several years now. Novel trilogy: book 1 was published in 2020 and the second one in 2021. I don't think the author is going to bother releasing the 3rd. Comic book: Unknown 9 Torment was released in 2021, and another comic called Unknown 9 Archives in 2018. Podcast: season 1 aired in 2020. Season 2 is airing now with 3 episodes as of writing. In other words, this game is not a launching off point for a new fictional universe, but a game adaptation for a franchise that's been existing for the better part of 6 YEARS. So the big question I have is, WHY? Why did Bandai Namco spend millions for a game to a franchise that failed to garner an audience for 6 years? Why did a game studio put more work and effort on creating an expanded multi-media universe than MAKING THE GAME? Why does this feel more like an awkward attempt by a studio to make and market their own SCP universe rather than trying to make a single cohesive product?
Oh god thats concerning...pretty sure sony hating japan is not even a meme anymore. I genuinely think they no longer are a japanese company and may in fact have a dislike for the japanese and their media by all the censorship they bring that in particular target japanese media. It is a cult. They encourage generally HR employees to recommend them as Consultants to make sure their game has "broad appeal." If execs refuse... the threats begin.
I think it is safe to assume if Sony buys Kadokawa, they will put out some kind of statement of how nobody likes anime and so it must all be changed to be more suitable to for a "modern audience" or "broader audience", one or both in separate instances of those terms will be used to justify the total destruction of all things owned by Kadokawa.
Imagine if SBI hadn't mangled Alan Wake 2 and it actually starred . . . Alan Wake instead yet another DEI Girlboss Black Chick. Game could've actually made its money back by now.
Snoy getting fromsoft will probably mean more titles like bloodborne that stay forever exclusive. Only remastered when they need a bailout or something to sell their new console with.
My fear about Sony buying Kadokawa and hence FromSoftware is that PlayStation Headquarters is in San Franciso, and has been since 2016 I‘m not sure they‘re going to be able to stop themselves from monetizing horse armor in the next Elden Ring dlc Or putting shops in the Firelink Shrine
DEI might be the savior of gaming, rooting out the broken studios and publishers unintentionally. Not a single veteran studio has survived going financially public and shifting towards working for the investor instead of the customer. Buying less so called "AAAA" Games leaves space to buy more "AA" games from new talent.
On the contrary, ragnarok and spiderman's issue is related to sbi involvement. Imagine how better it would be if they didnt insist on giving mj more screentime. Or if they just had a more aggressive theme and fight scenes without focusing on modern sensibilities
Honestly trying to set up what's essentially the video game equivalent to a cinematic universe is an awful idea because it fails to take into account that a game and a movie needs to be able to stand on it's own before trying to do anything like this. Bizarrely enough I think the odd world series is the only example of this working.

I planned to get both at launch but was busy when Ragnarok came out then heard about the kid spoiling puzzles and never bothered with it lol and the Mary Jane change made me hesitate on getting spider man 2 since even the change of Peter bothered me and every video I seen after it came out made me happier and happier that I didn't buy it. The Unknown 9 Saga is like an athlete that has been training long and hard for several years at the best sports institutions, only to trip with a stone at the starting line. That stone is called Sweet Baby Inc.
I mean sweet baby is actually successful in its mission goal, they said they want to burn it to the ground and they are, so the question is how much damage will be done at the end of it. Now we do have some champions in the fight like Chinese gaming companies and Korean and even some Japanese but will that be enough to resurrect the gaming industry?
Isn't spiderman 2 widely regarded as having a shallower, more box-checky story to the OG, despite being a relatively successful sequel in other terms of graphics and gameplay?
What people don't seem to get when they bring up the few successful examples is that God of War: Ragnarök and Spider-Man 2 weren't successful because of SBI they were successful DESPITE SBI!

At least modern “feminism” which isn’t about equality but about trying to erase equality. As Knuckles said in Sonic Boom once to Amy, anytime someone draws attention to the breaking of gender roles, it ultimately undermines the concept of gender equality by implying that this is an exception and not the status quo.

A single player doesnt need a big active player count, but it is telling how there arent that many right after launch that no one was looking forward to this and are probably waiting to watch gameplay on YT before choosing to buy or not.
ONE thing is for sure....it was certainly unknown. Looking at all their intended transmedia releases it's safe to say they absolutely jumped the gun and made too many assumptions. To assume the game would be successful enough to warrant novels, web series, podcasts and comics before the game had even released! I'd say the same about ANY game....not their smartest play.

I love how they think Unknown 9 is gonna be the next big IP in different forms of media meanwhile no one gives a shit.
"Engineered for success."
Why do studios keep listening to sweet baby? Black myth wukong and stellar blade didn't do any their shit yet they were sucessful
Look up the SBI business model and how they blackmail and threaten their way into companies.
ESG.
@@mablesfatalfable6021 They're also usually a requirement to seek the services of, if the company has taken any DEI pledges/ESG blkrok money.
ESG fundings, blackmailing from SBI and other stuff.
1:02 And this is why you don't count your chickens before they hatch. They tried building a franchise before they even had one game out.
You can easily see where SBI touched spider-man 2. Those weren't subtle at all, the whole Miles arc was a bunch of nothing but pandering that added nothing to the story and MJ's face...
Not to mention they got his flag wrong lmao. The one thing they're supposed to do and they fumble
Sony buying Kadokawa sounds like Disney buying Marvel and Lucas Films.
Beyond saving
"our goal is to burn the industry down" never felt more real
yeah, but they are burning only their side of the barn.
Sony attempting to kill FromSoft
100%
I love the fact these people said we are gonna burn down this industry and we as gamers without really realizing it basically said not if we torch you all first
Once a market crash happens, innovation would start
So the reason why so much of this takes place in Canada is because Canada is the go-to place for found a studio if you're unsure if they're going to succeed or not. Start up costs are phenomenally low there, so opening one to work on a risky game or two won't involve the long-term investment that a normal studio costs. This is why so many of them seem to know each other, they're passed from start-up to start-up like cheap whores.
You never hear about the engineers and coders from games. The people who do the real work
I made similar posts in several other videos talking about this game, but I looked up all the shows, books, and other stuff that was supposed to be part of the game.
Really not a fan of U.S. California Sony and what they represent, with whom are have been pretty anti-consumer in general over the years.
They had to release a statement because the Japanese agree with you.
"So, let just take a minute, to just-"
*Cue ad appears*
Yeah, let's take a minute guys
To be fair, it's a complete smash hit, if you base that metric off of Dustborn

Sony becoming Arasaka
Putting the cart before the horse.
MOMOTAROS!
I wish I had half the charisma that apparently the people who can convince game companies to work with Sweet Baby Inc given their track record have.
It is a cult. They encourage generally HR employees to recommend them as Consultants to make sure their game has "broad appeal." If execs refuse... the threats begin.
Holy shit, companies just don't learn do they? This sweet baby inc is just a straight up death sentence to any gaming studio
Bro really said "what sales numbers" 😭 I'm dying!
Sweet Baby Inc has that poisonous bite
Just look at the flag they champion. It's aposematism.
Snoy getting fromsoft will probably mean more titles like bloodborne that stay forever exclusive. Only remastered when they need a bailout or something to sell their new console with.
Sony can't afford to do that anymore, at worst you would see From games be PS exclusive for a year.
@@mablesfatalfable6021 if you're implying pc ports after that then there's the whole psn account bullshit they're actively pushing.
These people really like to count their eggs before they hatch (I think that’s how you use that phrase)
My fear about Sony buying Kadokawa and hence FromSoftware is that PlayStation Headquarters is in San Franciso, and has been since 2016
I‘m not sure they‘re going to be able to stop themselves from monetizing horse armor in the next Elden Ring dlc
Or putting shops in the Firelink Shrine
>Make a game that appeals to people who don't buy games
>Game gets next to no sales
"How could this have happend?!"
Sony and From Software a good matchup? Let's not forget it's Sony's fault we don't have a reelase of Bloodborne on different platforms, not even PS5.
Honestly trying to set up what's essentially the video game equivalent to a cinematic universe is an awful idea because it fails to take into account that a game and a movie needs to be able to stand on it's own before trying to do anything like this. Bizarrely enough I think the odd world series is the only example of this working.
Friendly reminder - Anya Chalotra admitted in one of interviews that there was no audition for the role, there was a proposition right away. Another proof for DEI discrimination and entitlement.
1:28 - This happens if toxic positivity gaslight you into oblivion.
3:32 - Most watched episode sits on 5k, most of them have ~700. They have 1,4mln views in total while Unknown 9 trailer have 1,1mln. Another 170k views goes to comic book trailer so not much are left for rest of 32 videos...
Looks like they made more money from ads on RUclips than from the selling the game.
Not to mention GoW and Spiderman already had established fan bases and was the earliest projects that involved sbi
Them being established and having a good reputation made it easy for SBI to snake its way into the fanbases.
Suicide squad kill the justice league wasn't so lucky despite going off of the success of the arkham series.
SBI is killing it… not in a good way.
4:10 I been wanting to say this for the longest time, CANADA INVADING!! nah, but really, it seems like any time i hear about sjw, sweet baby, dei or trying to help games and nerds and marginalized, every person comes from Canada. And not even tryin to like accuse or generalize. But it seems like everytime i hear about this this decisions, they from Canada. Or Cali or New York
The smallest dogs bark the loudest. Because it's all they got.
Or the UK
As for the anime, it is becoming increasingly westernized. Which is sad. Heard someone say that it's Bigger than the NFL. So that's disappointing. I like niche things as they are more unique as to washed down trash for normies. But Crunchyroll CEO: "Anime Must Remain Inherently 'Japanese'" Is he on the side of japan? He has been involved in the nonsense translation issues. But they are also looking to replace them with AI. So idk. it's a wait and see. They still haven't fixed the UI even after it became the number one issue when they aquired funimation and the CEO said "Yes we know it's an issue" so....
Crunchyroll is owned by Sony. Not going to happen.
If they had added 1 more project to the mix, the franchise would truly live up to its name. As is, it will only remain as "Unknown 8" in my memory.
I'm pretty sure even with God of war and the spiderman sequels they both sold considerably less than the game before did. I really like the first game of both of them though
If Sony ends up doing the acquisition it's gonna suck really bad
"Oh no, we lost our jobs. Damn those racist gamers, its all their fault.".
gotta make sure kadokawa isn't bought or it'll spell a monopoly.
It's like a new age scheme the bar needs to be lifted out of the sea

Them saying they can make a fully unknown IP Star Wars famous is a wild take. A podcast and other cross-platform media? For what? This is like when I graduated my nursing program and telling a potential employer I'm the best nurse ever. It would be considered DELUSIONAL. And that's what they are... DELUSIONAL
The Unknown 9 Saga is like an athlete that has been training long and hard for several years at the best sports institutions, only to trip with a stone at the starting line. That stone is called Sweet Baby Inc.
Damn, way to put the cart before the horse, lol.
7:04 That perfect cut! XD
Reminder that this game was also given away for FREE if you bought AMD PC parts. I got this game and Space Marine 2 from the bundle and I've only played Space Marine 2.
When Ragnarok and SM2 were released no one even heard of SBI, that's why there was no impact. It only started with the calamity that was Suicide Squad KTJL.
Damn, you know your game is terrible if Dustborn and Capes outsold your game😂
1:14 "So like...let's just take a minute..." Hei, you're killing me!🤣
DEI: Discrimination, Exclusion and Idiocy.
Feminism destroys everything it touches.
I wish more people knew the real history of feminism. Feminism has done nothing to help women, it was just a way for upper-class women to bully lower-class men and it hasn't changed a bit.
Og feminism, like the 1920's women's rights movement, is badass. Modern feminism sucks.
SBI has nothing to do with feminism. Feminism was an early 20th century movement for basic civil rights. SBI is straight up DEI.
@@BryonYoungblood A comment on Blue sky said it best "not all men are in prison yet" They want to oppress and imprison all of us. I should write a series about this...
Considering that Sony is now headquartered in California, and that Sony is also acquiring so much of the Anime Import Market in the US, it brings up the possibility of Anti-Trust/Monopoly issues with Sony!!!
No hyperbole and no lie, I keep forgetting these woke games faster and faster. I heard of this SBI game a few months ago and haven't registered anything about its development until you talked about it here. Frankly, I was aware it'd come out around the same time as Veilguard, but that's the best I can recall of trying to remember future failures to mock and laugh at.
Don't forget people heavily criticized the writing in Ragnorock and Spiderman. The games gameplay was good and ip saved it
Spider man 2 and God of war ragnarok would've had better story if not for sweet baby inc.
Spiderman ps4 story is so much better.
I can already see Kadokawa's price sinking from this.

this is my first time ever hearing of unknown 9 awakening lmao
SBI has an 8% success rate. That's like if a receiver only caught 8 passes out of 100.
How do companies keep hiring them
the game truly was an unknown 9 awakening
These companies need to release a product before assuming they can succeed in a multimedia framchise.
Working with Sweet Baby is a get shut down speedrun.
I guess... we were truly the Unknown Nine.
To be fair, this is the first time I've ever heard of this game. So part of it might be that.
The funniest thing I could see happening:
Sony gets control of fromesoft and imposes dei stuff causing muyzaki to just leave followed by like half the company and all the companies value just tanks.
would honestly be hilarious but they will probably wait for him to retire so they can use the fromsoft name to try and sell some shit game concepts :-(
Hopefully he'll pull a Platinum Games and form a new studio from the ashes and rise to fame again.
