As you like that you may enjoy the band (or should I say ensemble?) Haggard as well. They have an unusual mix of instruments as well as vocals and they combine classic with death metal in a way I never heard before. I suggest "Eppur Si Muove" as a starter and - if you like their style - go to the probably best known song "Awaking the Centuries".
Saw a comment a guy made on a diff reaction and couldn't stop laughing... "Hey mom, I'm dropping out of college to play the hurdy gurdy in a jaunty metal band."
Holy shit, never heard anyone to know about hurdy gurdy before googling it! Also check out Wintersun, Sons of winter and stars (live rehearsal). That band has the best riffs in the universe
What a wonderful surprise! I love this band and the band Cellar Darling, which are three former members of Eluveitie. You should check them out too. Nice! 😉🤘
They're great. I didn't know what to think the first time I heard them.. fllute, hurdy gurdy, and heavy rock.. alright! They've gone through some style changes through the years and this is kind of a blend of them all. You should check out their other songs: Inis Mona or King.. they bring in bagpipes!
To my ear, beneath the folk influence, it is melodic death metal. You can tell from the phrasing, even in the drum parts. So many metal bands bring a lot of energy, but then do nothing with it. They just double kick drums at you for 4 minutes. Blasting beats is intense, but texture changes are engaging.
Nice reaction :) Can you do a reaction to Scream your Name .- In Reverse and Scream Your Name - The Cinderella Story? Its a post-hardcore band from switzerland, very talented guys🔥🔥
ELUVEITIE are simply awesome. Really glad you liked them. Hey, if you like a hurdy gurdy then you'll love Neil from the Young Ones singing "HuRdY gUrDy MuShRoOm MaN" ruclips.net/video/yy2g3B9mj0o/видео.html .....or will you?
love your editing and reaction it was interesting to say the least not really sure how i feel bout it though im tempted to thumb this down for not saying "good people of the interweb"(not really) as always you get a well deserved thumb up
Thanks for your reactions - I always enjoy them. Seeing as you like Celticy (is that a word?) stuff and the hurdy-gurdy, you might enjoy Guilhem Desq's (no, I don't know how to pronounce his name) modern take on the gurdy. Here's an example - ruclips.net/video/W0DrXyzlHM8/видео.html
Check out Paara - Suon Sydän. Blackfolk metal. Ps. Going to see Eluveitie, Lacuna Coil and Infected Rain 3 weeks from now 🤘 Pss. Forget Paara. Too mellow for you. My bad.
Same, but about a month for me. Bought the tickets for Lacuna Coil, never even heard of Eluveitie before, but now that's the band i look forward the most to see.
This band used to be really good live and still are I suppose just that the new female singer is not as good as the old one. You were the first reactor to know what a hurdey gurdey is! Awesome channel and great intro's.
They still are really good live. I've seen both the old (more than once) and new group live, and for one or two of their classics the new female singer wasn't quite able to match Anna Murphy, but can anyone ever really match Anna's "Call of the Mountains"? However, technically I find the new singer to be more versatile. Overall, she did not disappoint at all and knew how to perform.
Fabienne is just super talented. I am in her patreon community. She is my favourite female vocalist together with Floor Jansen and Simone Simons. And about Anna, she is super awesome too but I really prefer Fabienne.
Yves got it right! I want to like this band... I really do. But I don't. I've tried several of their songs, and I do appreciate what they're doing and their artistry in doing so... I just can't get into it despite having deep celtic roots myself and living in a CelticAF country. Kudos on your editing though my friend. You're one of a kind in a sea of copycats (aka the RUclips Reaction Channel majority)!
Before anyone says anything, YES, I did in fact see the woman playing the hurdy gurdy windmilling while she was playing. I just failed to mention it.
You can never have too much Hurdy-Gurdy. 🤘

I love this band so much. They do a really good live show. If you ever get the chance to see them, I'd highly recommend it.

I loved her reaction and expresions, but man, you actually noticing the hurdy gurdy killed it!
A new metal sub-genre "Celtic AF". LOL
What a wonderful surprise! I love this band and the band Cellar Darling, which are three former members of Eluveitie. You should check them out too. Nice! 😉🤘
I knew you were digging it when I saw half a smile on your face during the solos.
lol, the intros never cease to amaze me.
hurdy gurdy makes the folk. I'd definitely recommend listening to some of their earlier stuff, like "Uis Elveti" from their first album.
I like this band, you should try ELUVEITIE - King
One of my favorite bands. You could also check Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars

Their Hurdy Gurdy player actually has a side gig mass producing relatively affordable gurdies
Not to mention she used to be a fan, doing RUclips covers of Eluveitie and got hired :D

The band's name is pronounced ELL-VAY-TEE and the style of music surrounding the folk instrumentation is Melodic Death Metal.
