I am absolutely loving this line, can’t wait for all the baby mutants in wave 3. Still waiting for that Ray Filettttttttt🎶 announcement.
When is the April O’Neil video and villain tots are coming
I had gotten Wingnut and Scumbug from one of my co-workers as a Christmas gift, and I ended up picking up Mondo and Genghis, as well as most of the remaining Wave 1 figures, shortly after that. I had no idea there was a darker variant of Genghis Frog. I got the lighter version from Walmart, and I think I prefer that one anyway.
Some of the designs are sort of weird, but I think they look pretty cool. (I still haven’t seen the movie yet.) At 10 bucks a pop, they’re very affordable. I even have the Turtle Tots, so the only standard figures I’m still missing are Superfly and Leatherhead. I could get the Battle Packs, but I don’t like them with battle-damage.
I haven’t seen Mega Mutant at my Walmart yet, but I’m definitely gonna search for him.
Genghis Frog looks like cupcake.

I heard from some other toy reviewers that Playmates reportedly said Ray Filet isn't going to get his own figure until they start the Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show toyline which is a complete bummer.
Maybe the peg hole is in the middle cause his supposed to have one leg one it and looking forward while his other leg is supposed to be like he’s using it to me and tail on the ground?

Along with Genghis, I have noticed a new variant of Splinter as of recent. The Splinters that are popping up in stores now have a grey-ish, brown tone, more movie accurate than the initial grey Splinter we received. Just thought I'd mention that for any variant collectors

There is another variant of Wingnut. I have seen images and videos of Wingnut that has some of the veins painted pink. Just wanted to let you know :)

I've only gotten the Mondo so far out of wave 2, but I love his new design! can't wait for the Tales of the TMNT figures to come out. However I feel like that name is going to get confusing since the last 2012 season was also called that lol

One thing about this line that may sound like a back-handed compliment but I assure isn't - it's refreshing to see these designs because you know whoever came up with them had zero concerns about how they'd work as toys.

That’s actually Attila the Frog. I don’t think they made Genghis into a figure but Genghis can be seen in the cartoon.
Yeah that part I remembered funny enough but mistook Genghis here for Napoleon. Still all the same. Its a nice homage in the figures

no, the 2012 board iirc is just straight black plastic with yellow wheels and is kinda small

I’m not big on the redesigns of these.(I do appreciate the nods to the originals tho) Especially making the males female. Interesting looks for leatherhead(always was one of my favorites in the past series), Wingnut(cool inclusion on Batman weapons but reminds me of a battle beast) & Ray Filet(good idea using the pop). Besides the original toon and figure line like the look of the 2012 series. Probably would’ve liked that mega mutant as a kid tmnt collector

Ummmmm just my 3¢... The only thing I wish was different was their choice to put the animated pictures on the back rather then actual toy pictures. Because they definitely dont look accurate or good to the animated pictures!!
The Funko Pop Ray Filet looks like it fits right in with wave 2. If Playmates decides to do an official one, I hope they also do a single release of April O' Neil too!

the movie wasnt bad. i liked the stop-mo feel. but the toys look like happy meal toys to me. i feel like its like the netflix he-man cartoon "he-man and the masters of the universe" and is marketed toward kids. but i guess thats ok too. us adults have plenty to collect lol. new stuff and old.

I'm sorry, but these look terrible. I don't care about changing genders of characters, I care when toys for a well-known and well-loved franchise don't even look aesthetically presentable. I suppose they're not for everyone. And don't accuse me of just liking the vintage line. I loved the 2012 line and thought that Rise of TMNT was great too.

Honestly the only figures in the whole line I don't like are the glow in the dark ones they are too gummy don't stand and cant hold the weapons but all the others are great
