      True Michael. Getting free tools is a very cool benefit! Truth is the channel makes a very modest amount of money (and only since Aug) and everything made so far has been reinvested in the channel. Video equipment, testing equipment, shop upgrades and buying tools to review. If I had bought everything we've reviewed so far we'd still be in the red and I would really be questioning whether it was worth continuing. That said it's been a really fun and rewarding experience and that's almost entirely because of all you folks. Thanks as always!

    I bought the Hercules 12" dual bevel miter saw I got it for $319. I was going to get the Hercules table saw. But I bought the Skil one because it can hold a dado and it came with a built in stand. The Skil was also $50 cheaper but the stand was the main reason I bought it.

      I was going to buy DeWalt DWS780 until Herc came out, waited a year went to store to inspect both and watched countless videos. Couldn’t see a reason why I would spend almost double for yellow saw so bought Herc. Several years later glad i went that route, that saw was spot on out of box, very accurate and powerful motor.

    Hey Mike, another great review. I love your tool reviews. Your step by step setup and calibrations are awesome. I bought the SKIL job site table saw based on your review. I am pretty happy with it. My one issue is that it's really, really loud (which you noted). I have to use over the ear headphones.
    About Evolution review - I watched all three of your reviews, the full size miter saw, the mini miter saw and table saw. I also watched others' reviews for Evolution products. It seems to me that a lot of reviewers (including you) are very smitten with the cutting ability of the evolution lineup. The thing is, one can buy the Evolution saw blades on Amazon (and probably elsewhere). For instance, the 10" blade in this miter saw is available for $35 at Amazon. Wouldn't I get most of the benefits if I simply buy the blade and use it on a suitably powered tool. I will try it on my SKIL table saw and see how it performs. I also ordered the Metabo 10" compound miter say from Amazon for $120. It's not sliding and can miter on one side only but it's only $120 man. I'll try the Evolution blade on that saw too.
    Any thoughts? I'd love you to review the blade on other miter and/or table saws and comment. As usual, I love your reviews and look forward to new ones.

    I'm glad you got one with a flat table. The rotating part of mine was a tad proud of the left fixed table. I couldn't find any way to adjust it so I put 2 layers of duct tape on it to fix it. Other that the saw performs well. I purchased it to cut some painted 3x3 11 gauge tubing and it worked great.

    If only the evolution table saw, the Rage 5s was as good - if they sorted the fence and accuracy issues. Close, very close, but not the outstanding saw it could be with a little more attention to detail. I've bought the 10 inch single bevel slider, maybe I'll buy the Rage 5 and find ways to make it the rigid, accurate saw it could be. Sigh. Very helpful review, especially on the adjustments, thank you.

    The four things preventing me from buying this saw: 1) Non 0 clearance in back (cannot put up against wall, takes up a lot of space in back), laser line vs shadow line (dummy proof), bevel adjustment clunky (still need to loosen from back), dust collection appears to be horrible. The insertion plate looks horrible and does not appear to have a way to screw it down. Other than that this is a good upgrade from previous models. I am glad it is 10". Dust collection sucks.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  Год назад

      I agree Troy those are all legit concerns. This vid is the second time in my life I’ve used a chop saw indoors! First time was the DeWALT vid on the channel. The dust collection always sucks. Fifth reason: availability of spare parts. Evolution is a weird brand. I once owned a table saw (Rage 5s), needed some spares, contacted the importer in Europe, they forced me to explain them where I bought the table saw, and at last they told me I only could order the spares If I also ordered a new saw blade 😂 what?? The only alternative was buying spareparts at Power Tools Centre in the UK which is expensive due to extra import costs. Better choose the common “A” brands!
