Are cracks starting to appear in the bull market rally?
Portfolio manager Lance Roberts thinks so. His technical dashboard is now showing sell signals as volatility is increasing and the S&P has broken beneath its 20 Daily Moving Average.
Next week should be telling. If the S&P rises and closes back above its 20 DMA, that should mean the bull trend is intact.
But if not, and the 20 DMA becomes resistance instead of support, that's a strong sign the rally is cooked for now.
We discuss this, as well as the latest hard-to-believe blowout jobs report, the recent jawboning by Fed officials, bond yields, banking system risk, gold and oil.
For everything that mattered to markets, watch this week's Market Recap featuring Lance Roberts.

Sitting outside on an early spring day after finishing a project. Opened a cold beer and listening to 2 guys share truth. The world is crazy but this channel is a key way i prepare for what might come. Another great weekly recap.
I respect you for this, tbh anyone who’s not investing, producing nor has an establishment will only do the bare minimum or just survive to be financially free one must do any of the following.
Absolutely! Building a strong investment that isn’t controlled by the government is a smart move in todays unpredictable economy. digital assets offer a unique opportunity for financial independence.
Are individuals still holding crypto coin and stocks? I didn’t know that , I guess a few know about integrating into the micro economy to help substitute FIAT or usdt for a more tangible exchange Experience, it more like capitalization with about 43.307% profits/ ROI weekly though.. ps..Kimberly Jane Carl, got me covered!
"Hey everyone! 👋 Just starting my investment journey in crypto and stocks. 🚀 Learning the ropes and excited about the possibilities. Any tips or or info on how I’ll reach out to Kimberly Jane Carl,Let's grow together! 🌱

Adam and Lance / Lance and Adam, thanks so much for doing these week after week.
Lance got real snippy during the bond part of the conversation 🤣🤣😅
He's been doing that more lately. Must be the high prices and smaller portions at his favorite restaurant.
That's what I thought too
He's been a bit snappy lately
Who is buying Vola at the moment?
Great weekly recap as always. Would love to learn more about the test and a session dedicated to that topic. Thank you both !
Thank you for thoughtful, encouraging weekly commentary

Strong work gentlemen.
Excellent. Top notch content and perspective.
Well done thank you both
Have a great weekend guys always my favorite time of the week
The rule "don't procrastinate":) Lance, you hit the nail on the head, I should have written this one on the wall. I have been in the stock market for 18 years and man how many mistakes have I made, not buying when I knew it was a winner, or selling too early out of fear, or not selling at all out of greed :) It's always great to hear you, there's always something to learn, your discussions are a pure gold.
I've made those mistakes too.Ugh. I hate to think of the winners I sold before their time.
Webinar about that test is of great interest. Thanks.
I would suggest that anyone wanting to taking the Johnson O’Connor test, not do it in San Francisco. I have two twin granddaughter's that were entering their senior year of high school two years ago. One was excellent in math and science and knew that she wanted to be an engineer. The other had no idea what she wanted to do. I live in Hawaii and they were coming to visit for Christmas, so I signed them up in for that test in SF on the return trip back to Michigan. After taking the test, they tried to steer both girls into liberal fields that had poor job prospects. Luckily, they saw what was happening and didn’t succumb to the pressure. She told my prospective engineer that she shouldn’t pursue a stem degree, and instead go into journalism. My granddaughter is almost done with her freshman year and acing calculus and physics. I wasn’t pleased with the testing, but believe that it was due to the location.
Maybe try a Red state for testing. I’m in Illinois, 5 minutes from Chitcago, where they push liberal crap everywhere, even in healthcare. I’m an RN of 32 years. Much has changed
SF is a nightmare
Then the test is not useful, it shouldn't have a location bias.
Interesting " journalism "
Such a shame. Good luck to you and your family from ohio
The best show we have right now. Thank you Adam and Lance
Adam, in reference to your ending story, when I was young, an old wise friend of the family told me that it's none of my business what others think of me. It took years for that to sink in, and I feel fortunated to get those sage words. It you're always worried about what others think about you, you'll defeat yourself before you even start trying to do anything!
Thank you. Good conversation
Thanks so much for your market tips. Bonds logic is much appreciated. Inflation expectations dependent on GDP growth is such a great tip. So much wisdom.
Big fan of the program and process to educate the average investor. ❤
It's ILLEGAL not UNDOCUMENTED!
Well, we know you're a cult Trumper.🤮
Does that matter? Are you also upset of the legitimate, documented companies that hire them? The LEGAL, DOCUMENTED, AMERICANS!? Laughable.
@@Stu_Cazzo Yes.....these companies are co-defendants to a crime....here terms matter because it glosses over that crime... There are more qualified immigrants waiting legally for months or more to come into this country...they are adhering to the rule of law not to the lawlessness we are now seeing in these cities....nothing laughable about that.
Squatters are undocumented homeowners
@@Stu_CazzoYes, you proved his point that verbiage matters. Illegal should be emphasized here. Documented or undocumented, illegal activities are the key and the true problem here.
Thanks love this interview 🇦🇺👏
Great show!
Very interested in the Johnson O'Connor test webinar.
Lance does not understand gold 😊😊
He is a money manager - few of them do
adam and lance, one of my fav dynamic duos
Thank you! Greeting from Europe
Thank you
Thanks, Adam. Agree with your take on Johnson O'Connor. My wife and I took it in the 1980's and my 3 kids took it before college. Best thing we ever did!
I need lance this morning to give me some good news!
I would enjoy that webinar!
One of my favorite
Love these two, no diddy
Greetings, Adam. The Johnson O'Conner test sounds a lot like the test my father took as a young man. My mom paid 500 dollars (cdn) for this test back in the mid 1950's.This was a lot of money for my parents at this time. She said it was an industrial psychology test. She told me my father was unsure what he wanted to do in his life after graduating from University. My father had also completed his pre-meds courses to qualify for entrance into Med School. He was accepted but was still unsure at the time of what he wanted to do. After taking this extensive test, the psychologist told him that he would do best talking to people on a daily basis, and being in some sort trading business, and being in some sort of sales environment. My father told me his favourite period of work in life was being a commodities broker. He eventually went on to take his MBA, and became an expert in marketing and sales. He said he never regretted not becoming a medical doctor.
Really loved the discussion on the double edged sword of Margin debt. I am also interested in learning more about the Johnson O'Connor aptitude test.
I’d be interested in the testing - thanks for the opportunity!
Hahahah Gold is a pure emotional trade. 😂 Lance has a great broad view of the mkt, but clearly Gold is his Achilles heel
Adam thank you for the very accurate information about the markets. Your shows are very informative, educational and influencial to the scale of the times we face in our lifetimes. Your like a narrative expert in your field. Your shows are World Class great job to that class that are our brightest people that tell it like it is👍
Please do webinar on test.
Love this channel! Thanks for the weekly talk with Lance and all your great guests. I continue to become a better investor and learn about world economics. Michael Campbell introduced me to Lance and Lance introduced me to you. The good people know each other.,,
1000% interested in a webinar concerning that aptitude test.
Great stuff. Enjoyed. Nice to hear an expert say nothing wrong with clipping the coupon on a long bond if it meets your needs.
I’m absolutely interested on the test
More information about that test!!!!
Very interested in the Johnson o Connor aptitude test. It will be awesome . Looking forward to it. Thank you
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about your career and life path. Some real wisdom in your thoughts. I was an outside counsel for GE but they never gave me test at least that I’m aware of….
Mister Adam, once more I'd like to thank you for being a voice for us young people. Mister Lance still doesn't seem to quite grasp the reality of our situation
Adam, you've mentioned the Johnson O’Connor Aptitude test at least 3 times in the years I've been listening to you. I'd love to hear more about it and do it with (separately and then share) my wife. Please bring them on your program 😀🙏. Thanks, Lachlan
Adam thanks for sharing the story of your professional transition, it was moving and has the nucleus of a great graduation speech. I'd be very interested in more on the Johnson O'Connor evaluation. Both you guys are terrific at combining philosophy with finance, thanks!
Adam and Lance…. The A Team
Welll -he did a podcast last week saying that his technical said that there's a bond rally coming
Well ok -let's go to the videotape
The last 45 minutes were amazing. Thank you so much.
The employment discussion should have mentioned the fact that the largest gains were in government jobs and healthcare jobs...
And neither are getting many QUALIFIED people
This dude doesn't live in the real world just talks to his fellow millionaires that are living in a different reality
@@solskengroupllp2758 💯
🎯
Yeah, more Taxtakers doesn't help, at all. We are borrowing money to pay government employees for life, ridiculous.
Adam, that’s a great idea to do a webinar on the Johnson O’Connor aptitude test
Hey Adam, I would have some interest in hearing about the aptitude test further. Thanks
Lance is 100% correct and I appreciate his emphatic view on Margin debt. When the bank makes a margin call, its time to call in the dogs. Not negotiable.
Yeah, I’d like to learn more about the aptitude test
Johnso O’Connor test. Love to hear more
Very interested in the Johnson O’Connor Test. 👍🏼
And to Lance Roberts hes like the commander in the economic war zone
Thank you for your current evaluation of our current economy.
But also with the mix of how Politics play the roles in our daily lives.
And your facts are very clear and concise
Always such a great discussion.
Adam, thanks for the personal insight into not feeling fulfilled. I'm glad you ended up here. I found it a surprise as I loved what I did before I became semi-retired....which is manufacturing. Like Lance, hurray, it's Monday lol
Yes Johnson O’Connor test info 😊
Yes to Johnson O'Connor Webinar.
I’m interested in the test
Would like to hear more about the Johnson O Connor test
I would like to learn more about the Johnson Oconnor test
Economic investigator Frank G Melbourne Australia is following this very informative content cheers Frank 😊
Yes for Johnson O'Connor
Would love any tool like the Johnson o Conor aptitude test.
In other words, not 25bps 50,75 or 100bps they would have to cut over 400 bps (4%) so the banks can break even and this will stop the collapsing of banks.
But it will not solve our National Debt
good discussion on doing what you want to do , rather than what the rest of the world thinks you should do.
Yeah, thanks. I pointed out the rather extreme margin debt leverage ratio in a recent article on my Linkedin. The February FINRA margin numbers are in, and we're now at a ratio of 2.34. Given the market action in March, the March leverage ratio is likely to be even a bit higher.
I dont follow this as an echo chamber to verify my basis. I like how it challenges me to think. Seems so many want to watch an episode that will tell them what to do. I have my own intelegence and information and am interested when Adam and Lance hit on the industry I follow an I get their thoughts.
Johnson O’Connor Test info 👍👍👍
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about $246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I am rounding up close to a million
Thanks for continuing updates I'd rather trade the stock market as it's more profitable. I make an average of $34,500 per week even though I barely trade myself.
I'm favoured financially, Thank you Jesus $32,000 weekly profit regardless of how bad it gets on the economy
How
..? Am a newbie in crypto investment, please can you guide me through on how you made profit?
Thanks to Mrs Patricia Vesely.
She's a licensed broker here in the states
Adam - I would be very interested in having you put a show together on this…. Thank you! Mike
OK 😮
VERY INTERESTED IN JOHNSON O'CONNER TEST
has a friend who got a margin call in 2008. Almost lost the house. He has never invested since
Well, dont invest on borrowed money
@@prebenpetersen5982 Yes. If you can't wait for couple years at least for stocks to rise back up, you've invested too much. Notice that many, frankly almost all, talking heads in investing circles advice you to invest close to 100% of your money - which I think is reckless advice. Of course a millionaire, or a hedge fund manager, won't go bankrupt themselves when the stocks crash 60%, cause it's just playmoney for them.
So where are margin buyers? Are they in lower priced stocks or are they everywhere?
I believe there are two main types - short sellers - betting (and causing) a stock to fall (I think a recent example is Tesla). Second type is a long position, bought with 10x leverage, so I'd imagine those investors are going for momentum stocks like Nvidia etc. maybe Adam can do an episode on this!
Somebody needs to explain increase hospital and social workers 75k and government 80k but no tech or finance jobs
That's the Biden economy for ya
We still got a few months left to rally due to an election year and summer earnings and next 3 months have the most dividends paid in the market as a whole
Good morning
I agree with Lance, Adam, you do interviews with a lot of great guests. But none of these interviews have ever matched the quality and entertainment value of these weekly recaps with Lance about investing and the current state of the market.
3 weeks ago the fed announced a new Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP). This is stealth QE. Jerome will cut in June for political reasons.. Q3 will be a blockbuster for Market, .especially if we get a 5% pull-back in Q2 for the investors that missed the +18% Q1.
What are they calling the new bank program? I hadn't heard about it yet.
Definitely would like an interview about that test! I would say colleges should offer it as a pay off tuition, but then they wouldn't make as much money with all the students switching majors :)
My daughter is lost. Changed major 3 times already. I would be interested in more information.
when you guys look at 20/50, do you use sma or ema?
Try both on longer timelines to see where prices find support. Personally I found 8 and 34 day ema work for me. But different assets can have different support lines. Good luck!
8 and 34 Ema are great on all time frames. QQQ has been respecting 34 daily well. I often buy first shake out to 34 on an impulse leg on any stock.
I think his trading view showed SMAs in the corner.
Retail should leverage more.
It's rolling over. The Relative Volatility Index 1 month 20 day SMA rolling over!
Unless there is a black swan event, market is not crashing. Small corrections do happen after each run up.
