Check out launcher hijacker on xda, no root needed to go back to Google Launcher or Nova or whatever. And then Play Store is just a sideload away, still no root. Those to things and it's a much more interesting tablet imo! Check it out that way.
tipoomaster just uninstalled launcher hijack and Nova launcher last night. They both were slowing down my hd 10 really badly. Uninstalled both and it was instantly snappy again. I'd really only recommend doing that if you disable the fire launcher completely.
I am on this site now looking for a way to fix this exact tablet I thought was a good upgrade option, I got it a year ago from Best Buy and it has stopped working or turns on an off randomly all night. I have so much on it and it doesn't work anymore. Save your money. My last one is still working 6 yrs later this one is a rip off so we can buy another one, I am still working with the 6year old one only. Thumbs down for the tablet not your video.
I bought the fire hd8 as it's the middle size tablet and has far better specs than the fire 7 for only a little extra cash. The 10" model is a step up again but size and weight would make this a use at home only tablet for me and I need something more portable should I need to take it with me when travelling. You can't go wrong with any of Amazon tablets for the price but I would strongly advise going for the 8" model over the 7" as it's far more responsive in everyday use plus it's got dolby stereo spekaers a better screen longer battery life etc.

Does anyone know exactly how the trade-in works? I currently have a 5th gen Fire HD 10 that is getting slow and buggy, and I would really want this tablet. I haven’t used the old tablet in over 5 months.

There videos of people slamming it against a metal table and its didnt even dent it, soo much more heavy duty than the flimsy Ipad that cost 10 times as much and it much easier damaged. I got one too for Cyber monday! Amazon is willing to hand them out for pennies to get everyone on their platform, its all part of their world domination plan. They crushed googles sales with The Fire Stick, Echo Dot, and Fire Tabs. What do they really want from us? OUR DATA IS MORE VALUABLE TO BEZOS AT THIS POINT!
For a tablet that could probably be run over by a tank and not crack you can't go wrong. Most people use tablets for consuming media so why spent $800 on a new iPad if you only do that? Like spending $3000 on a PC if you only surf the web and use email.
I’ve been browsing tablets for the purpose to be a sort of “DVD player” (not literally , I know this doesn’t take DVD’s) and since I have amazon prime this one looks best suited for that. I can just download all the films to the micro SD slot. I Love Apple for the apps store and my kids love it too, but for this trip we’re about to take this tablet looks nice to mount on the back of my car head rest so the kids can enjoy some movies while on the road.
Just a suggestion, but you should post some of the more “clean-cut” vlogs on the main channel, I think it would be a great addition if you decide to do it
It has 2 gigs. It's a very stripped down Android 5 (soon to be android 7 once they upgrade to FireOS 6). It handles (at least) single applications very well, even games. The HD 8 has 1.5gigs and lags a lot, this one seems a lot better optimized. You'd think the extra screen res alone would demand a bigger ram jump but there's something more done under the hood here it seems.
I looked it up afterward, it's 2gb, and the Fire tablets generally do pretty well without needing a huge amount. They're not ultra high-end flagships or anything, but they're also not terribly expensive.
Just got the hd 10 and inserted my micro sd card. the compartment door will not stay closed so the card keeps coming out. Is there a trick to keep the compartment door closed?
The avatar line was ridiculous! We only waited an hour because we got there at 7:30am, but it was totally worth it. Congrats on the iPhone X! I'm definitely really enjoying mine. Got a battery case on the way (and subsequent video, lol) for it.
Amazon hasn't commented on it yet. From their forum, it looks like they're trying to see why people want to upgrade from Android 5.1 to 7+ (what new features they want, etc.), but they haven't promised anything.
Nolan Heistad It is very easy to side load Google Play on to. It's the very first thing I did after I powered mine up. Once I found the proper site, I was good to go in less then 10 minutes. It works just as well as any of my other android devices. I really like this tablet. My only complaint is it's a little heavy. Oh one more good thing, it fits in the same cover as the 5th gen 10 inch kindle fire did. I didn't have to buy a new one.
Nolan Heistad I watched a video of a guy drop testing the 8 inch fire hd. He was dropping it repeatedly onto a hard wood floor. The floor took more damage than the tablet. After several drops it still worked fine with nothing more than a few scuff marks. It was right out of the box with no cover.
I love OnePlus but I think they know as well as anyone else phablets are the way to go. Besides iPads, Surfaces and Fire tablets..it's a tough market to get any exposure in. Smartphones are always a safer bet. Would definitely be interesting to see one though..

Yeah, but getting widgets working is pretty involved. It won't work just because the launcher works :(

You are right on no decent android tablets . Man Oneplus need to make a 10 inch or larger tablet , that would be amazing.

Bought one. Instantly disabled all Amazon stuff, went for a lineageOS solution.
