For almost 20 years, Jennifer and Rodney Barrett were traditional farmers in Arkansas, raising millions of chickens for the meat industry. They worked hard and took a lot of pride in their operation. Farming was-quite literally-in their blood.
But when Rodney became sick and was prescribed a lifetime of medication, they started researching the role that nutrition plays in overall health. What they discovered completely changed their lives.
Rodney and Jennifer made the life-altering decision to walk away from animal agriculture. Simply put: they could no longer reconcile their livelihood with what they knew was right. As Rodney says, “You wouldn’t think we’d be doing something for so long....that was detrimental to our own health.”
Join Rip in today's conversation and witness their courageous and compassionate transformation. You'll never guess what is now growing in barns that once housed thousands of chickens!

Such a beautiful visit with such beautiful people!!!! My heart breaks hearing Rodney talk about his frustration with himself for not knowing all this before...but PLEASE no regret. No one can blame themselves for not knowing what they didn't know! Big money is very invested in keeping us ignorant of these truths. Wishing them only great success, health, joy!!!! Thank you for sharing!

Thats a great point. Where would we be without Farmers? Is there anything we can do about Farmers who raise only plants but are still hurting animals? I have heard that Wild Pigs cause 1.5 billion dollars of damage to vegan crops every year. Wild pigs are being trapped, killed and poisoned by the millions. I came across this report ruclips.net/video/XaJ7-1bOk4M/видео.html. It is so upsetting. What can we do?

This is a great story! I hope they understand how wonderful it is that they took this journey together. When I was married, my wife ridiculed and demeaned me for making the dietary changes they have done. My health improved remarkably. Sadly she wanted no part of it considering it too “extreme” and I was narcissistic to make these changes. This is despite the fact that she has major health issues to deal with herself. This became a major issue in our marriage. We are no longer together but I still hope someday she could open her mind to the possibility that a plant based diet could really help her.

We will continue to keep them in our loving thoughts and prayers for a very successful and prosperous transitional business of growing plants instead of animals and the challenges they face for starting their animal sanctuary.
Rodney, our condolences and prayers for the loss of your father. We are so very sorry..

When we know better we do better. Nothing good comes out of beating yourself up! My husband and I were at the same immersion in Sedona and agree wholeheartly that it would benefit everyone to learn what was being taught there. Once you know the facts there is no going back. You both have an amazing story and we wish you all the best in your new endeavor.

I really enjoyed this podcast! I’ve been vegetarian, predominately vegan for the last two years. Cheese and oil being the most difficult to let got of. But I’ve given up cheese for Lent. And oil use is way down. My wife is the cook in the house right now and she is not Vegan at all. So I’m blessed and grateful that I have been this successful! I love your family; your Mom is a hoot!

Loooved this store, So I shared hoping that all my unhealthy friends on Facebook will watch. I bought the engine 2 book 10 years ago, so glad I did, I lost about 40 lbs I was at 200 lbs at the time and 50 yrs. old. I am so happy because I feel so good, so much more energy. I did have some terrible feelings in my body before I started, but hated going to the Dr. and for some reason the Forks over knives movie came into my life on Netflix. I cheat once in a while but try not to, Cause when I cheat, my body feels it. I have so much energy when I eat plant based. My man and I went to NJ to the ocean for 4 days, and I did have some meat (chicken), ice cream... board walk food ugh!! when we returned back home, I felt awful for 3 days or so. Eat Plant Based!!!! After that every time my husband wanted to go out to eat I was like "NO!" I try to eat salads or pasta marinara when we go out. Loved this story, there life is changing for the better.
