    why scale factor of time history (9.81)multiply with 2.2

    • @claudio_sepulveda
      @claudio_sepulveda  2 года назад

      Don't use it. As I said in the video, the only purpose was to show you an important nonlinear behavior. Without that factor, the structure remained mostly linear

      In my model plastic hinges do not appear, so I should multiply earthquake by scale to show hinges or not and how it can be calculated?

    • @claudio_sepulveda
      @claudio_sepulveda  2 года назад

      @@abdulhakeemmohammed3956 This was just a pedagogical example. If plastic hinges don't show up in your model, it's ok. If you want to see them, you can include an additional factor for the ground motion. In the case of this example I chose a factor just from "try and error"

    how can i calculate inpute energy?

    • @claudio_sepulveda
      @claudio_sepulveda  2 года назад

      In SAP2000 you can obtain input energy from Display/Show Plot Functions. If you want to calculate it by yourself you can compute it as the cumulative sum of the product of the base shear and the ground displacement
