I was never so wrong about a fighters trajectory. I really thought Perry was going to crash and burn years ago. I underestimated him. He’s become a legend in his own time. A final boss!
Perry literally found his home man. He was great in the UFC and was fun to watch but with BKF he’s just in his element and it shows in his performances. It’s great to see especially since he’s from the same place as me lol nice seeing a Florida man get paid for being a Florida man💀
@@SmashEverybodyBrotha Did you not? Perry is the type of fighter that cant life without this and usually as an mma fighter you either make a career in the ufc or you dont at all. So when they dropped him there was no clear path forward except for bellator which nobody cares about. He also wasnt good enough to really make it in mma. He likes brawling too much and people can and did take advantage of that. Nobody could have predicted Mike would end up as the face of a new promotion which thanks to him actually becomes relevant enough to stay afloat.
@@monkeyboy275bobo8 I’ve only been dialed into ufc since Jan Vs Izzy and have been catching up since so wasn’t really familiar with Mike Perry’s early career although I knew that he didn’t have a spotless record, still seemed to get fan love so that’s why I asked the question. Now that you put it that way, it does make sense to have thought that. the momentum mikes gotten from BKFC is unprecedented for his career and probably wouldn’t have happened at all, at least to this degree if he wasn’t shining like he is in BKFC. so def a case of “I guess we’ll never know” if Mike didn’t find his lane in BKFC I still want to see him back in UFC tho as that’s where all the story lines are, combat sport wise, BKFC def his home, and well deserved also.
Hands down one of the best back n forth conversation/interview I’ve ever watched. Got me so amped and grateful for this Life we all are blessed with, no matter how much mud we gotta dig ourselves out of. God bless you both and Thanks for this 🙏👊💎
Mike Perry is a success story we are all happy to see. His bloom post UFC has been amazing to see. He's such a funny guy too, just the right amount of shit talker so you never quite know if he's telling a story or telling you the whole truth
I love seeing Mike Perry succeed. I was so bummed when he left the UFC. Now I’m super grateful that he found his niche and he is truly one of the baddest men on the planet.
So cool to see Perry in such a healthy and happy mindset, as well as him getting to appreciate financial freedom and his own plentiful successes. I remember seeing him really battle some demons back in his early ufc days, basically living out his whip, whilst fighting with his girl at that time.
You two are literally my two fave fighters for different reasons mighty for skill talent and discipline and Perry for showing that you he other side of fighting takes real toughness and sometimes if your tough enough you tough it out!
I loved this interview so much man. Your channel just keeps getting better by large amounts every video. Plus your interview and fight break downs are just the best. Keep them coming man love the work
Bro you do better interviews then 90% of media out there. How are you not on espn doing stuff on national t.v. every interview i watch you get more out of your guest with your charismatic personality then anyone else. Maybe D.C also. But great job. Keep doing interviews and keep asking the right questions. You always seem to ask what i would ask and actually give them time to answer.
I show everyone online and all my coworkers your in air armbar transition. Still to this day it's the most badass move and finish I've ever seen in ANY MMA fight.
Man I've been a Mike perry fan, but this is my first time seeing him talk for more than a couple mins and this dude is so fucking cool! And I'm so happy that he's doing this good!!
Damn I wish I was a fight fan when DJ was shinning . Not being one when he was in the ufc and somehow still knowing and understanding that this guy was ARGUABLY one of the goats. If not the goat . Says a lot . Plus just a awesome personality
He’s the GOAT for me, everyone says Jon Jones but the popping positive for steroids several times moves him down in my book. Demetrius was so dominant in the UFC and so respectful to his opponents it made his PPV numbers lower because the lack of drama. Dana White only cared about money, he didn’t respect the absolute legend he had with DJ.
Mr Johnson, could you do a video on Pantoja, current UFC Flyweight champ? You being one of the GOATs and a smart individual, would love to hear what you think about him and his style. Personally he is one of the most fun fighters I have ever seen. Amazed with his pace and retained fighting capabilities while exhausted. Great at every facet of MMA as well.
Just stopping by to say I appreciate the great work you are doing. I've watched your channel grow from the start. I've been a fan from jump, and always will. This was another good one with the goat of bare knuckle. Keep 'em coming sir!
Great to see A mature Perry doing well. He’s been thru a lot and deserves all the respect, accolades and financial success. And What can’t DJ do ? Great interview Sir. I even watched the sponsor plugs. Lol
Mikes experience in high school at like 18 is what a lot of us had. Get together with friends, toke or something and then just scrap for fun or grapple. It was a good experience.
that ish was funny man as soon as mike said "my grades" i also started cracking up......i just didn't expect it what a fantastic conversation i love you both i have a massive poster of mike on my wall my whole family loves him, even my mum, although i think my mum fancies him.
That was a fuckin amazing podcast. Really enjoyed it! Wish you all the best in the podcast ingredients space. Congrats to Mike on his new successes, great bloke.
