This has all the hallmarks of early stereophonic tape recording as it was practiced from about 1956 through the early 60’s. With Ampex or Studer stereo tape machines and condenser microphones such as the Telefunken U-47, Neuman and others in common use by that time, no enhancement would be needed to produce this sound. And present day manipulation techniques still aren’t good enough to produce this quality of sound from low fi monoral masters to begin with. All of which is academic.......the liner notes on the CD for this track list the recording date as August 1958.

Louis Prima is the craziest, love his music and his time with wife Keely Smith. He made a movie with his band that I stumbled upon one evening, a light hearted movie with music and drama.

i dont think any of the music of this age has the capacity to inspire a whole generation like that of the genius, Louis Prima. im 17, born long after Prima's hey-day, and i can see the widespread influence he had on music. he most certainly has earned the title King of Swing!

Incredible to think that this is a record from 1936. The sound is so clear and crisp. Sounds like it may have been recorded yesterday.
Sorry to disappoint, but this does not date from 1936. This version was recorded in Stereo on August 25th, 1958. A Saturday if I recall correctly.

I'm pretty sure this is the original from 1936, Benny Goodman first recorded a version in '37 and the Carnagie Hall recording was from '38.
